I was working hard to get 1000 posts to get the right to have a custom user title, and now that I am almost there it is given to everyone. I feel like all that hard work for nothing.

....-sigh-... mmhmm...

I was looking forward to reading what you all might suggest as a title for me. I really liked the idea of reaching 1,000 posts before receiving a title and then having others choose a title for you. What that did is create a reputation for you during those 1,000 - and the title you got was rightfully chosen by those who know you so well. I saw it as symbolic to who "we" are, defined by "us". But, alas, now it has lost that value.

I cannot possibly pick one myself now...
But if its not too late, I just wanted to still ask if you guys would help me pick one out? ^^;
This is really silly but I don't feel right picking one myself. It really doesn't matter anymore I suppose, it's just that my curiosity haunts me to not know what title you would have chosen.

(P.S. gah! I feel as thought it's rather conceited of me to ask this. Perhaps I should have just posted in the user title thread instead of making a whole new thread >.> sorry!)

I never really got a user title from everyone else. I just came up with one and posted it in the user title thread for a stamp of approval, so to speak. But you still have a while to think about it, being at 684 posts and all.

I didn't really work towards the goal of having 1000 posts anyway. It just happened. But for you, it will be an awesome achievement since just about every post you've made has had substance to it.

I'm feeling just like you are, Auburn... I had a little phase where I was really making my post count rise by playing in the game threads, but I stopped after about fifteen or twenty posts. I wanted to reach 1,000 the long way, focusing on trying to be worthwhile reading... The user title held more personal value if it took a great amount of effort to earn...

I suppose waiting for a thousand posts is just an unfathomable nostalgia now... I find it unfortunate, but I'm expect a lot of people just wanted to have them. (Perhaps there will be less posting for the sake of just having more posts?)

Still, I think it's rather important for the community to still get together for namings... I certainly can't imagine picking out my own...

As for you, Auburn... I feel like the words 'union', 'fusion', 'coalescence', 'balance', or 'yin and yang' might be a good starting point for your name... I don't feel like I have a good sense of you, so I don't think I can or should go further than that...

I can't think of anyone who could have made the avatar collage with that level of graciousness and still be one of us.


As far as the 1000 post limit... I do feel like less than a few hundred is too small a sample size. The people you post with will obviously know you, but most won't. Still, there are a bunch of people well below the 1000 post mark that have developed a strong enough reputation that it saddens me to see "Senior Member" under their name.

For me my experience in this forum has been one of self discovery but in a rather interesting manner. With every post I make I discover more of who I am, simply because I try my best to express myself as honestly, openly, and unbridled as I can. By having a place that will not be offended at whatever might emerge from within me, I'm free to express myself sincerely without fear - and then I analyzing what emerges from me. (What better way to discover who you are than by truly expressing who you are without restraints?) This is why my post count is relatively low, and also why I post the way I do. ^^;

@ Decaf & Sapphire - I suppose the change is for the best... -sigh- I just tend to be very nostalgic ^^;

And those are some interesting suggestions Sapphire. I wouldn't say "union" or "fusion" fit be because I have learned that I cannot combine the different aspects of myself together no matter how hard I try. All I can do is learn to keep them separated, but use them equally. In that respect yin yang seems appropriate - as the two are always chasing each other's tails, but never meshing together to make gray. They're still black and white, but just endlessly dancing together, held hand in hand.

@ Tekton & lor - O.O! ...but... i'm not pure <.< ..I assure you I have many flaws..
I see them within me all the time, and it would take me several lifetimes to even come close to reforming them all. For instance even as I type this I struggle against the flattery of such remarks from you, wishing it were true, but knowing it's not. Torn between being modest, or selfish. And by this I know I fit not this title.

Some of the ones I was considering were:
