Over the course of the summer I've dived pretty heavily into this genre of music, probably because there are suddenly an abundance of artists doing it so well. If anyone else digs this kind of stuff, I've got a few recommendations!
The first band is Neon Indian, their debut album releases in October. Of course, it has already leaked.

If you dig Neon Indian, you might want to look up Memory Cassettes, Weird Tapes, and the soon to be amalgamated 'Memory Tapes' (debut is in September). They're all the same guy, his voice is beyond intriguing, and his beats are great. I love his song 'Asleep At A Party' in particular, and he references sleep/being awake (consciousness) in many songs.

Lastly, I just discovered a new band of similar styling today under the moniker 'Small Black'. I've only heard their first single, Despicable Dogs, but it's quite lovely.

Seriously people, I could talk music ALL DAY.
