Re: Looking for some techno/trance.

I'm not quite sure that you know what you mean when you say 'techno'. For some reason, people think that all electronic music is techno.
Here is a nifty guide: http://techno.org/electronic-music-guide/

Damn it Anthile, even though I've gone through that guide a couple of times in years past, I still got dragged into listening to it all again >_>

But yeah, everytime someone refers to [insert random electronic music genre here] as "techno" I feel like ripping their guts out in front of a ravenous bloodthirsty audience. Which is terribly frequent...

Electronic music is definintely my genre of choice (trip-hop is a very very close second). Here are some tracks that I find particularly good. Not exactly the standard run of the mill electronic, but it is such a diverse genre. I will just stick to three reccomendations though because I truly could post close to 20 different things.

Leila - Mollie
Genre: Electronic/IDM

Leila is a musical genius in my opinion. Actually seeing her do her stuff live (i'm going by what I have seen in videos), really is what hits it home for me. She uses such an unorthadox system of tools to do her stuff, and it comes out incredible. Her stuff starts out slow, but builds into really heavy full music.

Apparat - Limelight
Genre: Electronic/IDM

This band is simply spectacular. it is more on the IDM side of things as far as electronic music goes (in particular on the earlier albums) like the last song. Nevertheless, I find this to be really good stuff.

Artemis - Sync or Swim
Genre: Electronic/Trip-Hop

This band is fantastic. I've actually gotten to know the band members online a little bit. Not all of their stuff is classic electronic stuff, but for the most part it holds onto that root. I sort of define electronic music with a subgenre because again just saying electronic is kind of improper as it is such a diverse genre.

I hope you like some of this!
