All joking about the attention seeking nature of an intro thread aside, I figured I'd hop on the bandwagon and have a go. I've been lurking on these forums for a while now, and I've now determined that I won't be going away anytime soon. That's unusual for me - I have the tendency to become part of a community, and then disappear out of the blue one day. I suppose that's not unlike how I manage the rest of my activities in life, so it's fitting...
A few little details - I've been studying, enjoying, and otherwise casually making use of MBTI for about half a year now. It completely fascinates me, and I'm just beginning to further my research into the subject, as I purchased Jung's Psychological Types, Keirsey's Please Understand Me II, and Briggs Myers' Gifts Differing: Understanding Personality Type.
I'm 25, and entered the slave life of software cubicle worker about three years ago. Just Imagine Office Space and you'll pretty much understand my work life. I performed exceedingly well with little effort in High School (which was also the first two years of my college), but then became so distracted in college that I barely made it out with my Physics and Mathematics BS degree (heh...) unscathed. Now, the last thing I can imagine doing is making a career of those subjects, though they still greatly interest me.
Current areas of interest: art, music, philosophy, spirituality outside of organized religion, poetry, guitar, chess, and furthering my knowledge and ability to understand and make the best of the world.
I know there's an immediate reaction on these boards by many to try and type new members or determine if they are, in fact, something other than INTP. I've gone through much self-analysis, and while I often times exhibit traits of INFP, I am convinced that INTP is the correct typing. I will certainly entertain arguments for INFP (or possibly even INTJ/INFJ), though, for anyone that would like to make a case.
Well, I look forward to discussing with all of you. (:
