Hey everyone,
I'd just like to tout the benefits of kava kava root for INTPs, especially for those of you who have social anxiety issues, and live in places where it is legal. It also can make me feel like my emotions are more clear, helping deal with emotional repression. It helps my affect appear more positive to others, I find.
The feeling of taking a high dose of kava can be similar to certain marijuana experiences, but it is much better for Ti thought processes. It can be euphoric and there's a feeling of being clear-headed.
There are a number of places online where you can get it, and major natural foods grocery stores offer kava teas. I have never tried benzos, but I am told it is similar to xanax. Kava is much safer, though. It is basically impossible to overdose. Just be careful taking it with alcohol--the two potentiate one another.
Downsides: it's harder to have self-control when on kava than normally, and it gets rid of filters in a way that I've found alcohol and pot do not do for me, so if you're not careful, you'll say some things on it that may have negative consequences. It also makes you less excited just as it would make you less anxious, so that's something to take into account. Also risky to drive on a high dose.
All in all, it's helpful for making socializing more fun and comfortable, especially if you're alright with going with the flow and don't have a particular objective in mind.
