I took a personality test in school (senior in high school) and I got INTP. I'll be honest, I was pretty skeptical of these types of tests at first. When we were done and had our results, my teacher briefly went over each type. When she got to INTP, I was stunned because the way she described INTPs was extremely close to the way I view my own personality. I came home and looked up INTP on the internet today and read a few articles on the personality type - even more in shock.
I guess the reason for my reaction would have to be that I never really viewed other people as though anyone observes and experiences the world in the same way I do. It was truly surreal.
(I'm assuming this is the right place to ask these things?)
Did anyone else feel the same way when they were first "classified" as INTP?
I've just lived my life and always thought that my thought process was just different.
What jobs are good for INTPs?
I am in the process of choosing a major and am contemplating between engineering, theoretical physics (my dream), business, and video productions. Any recommendations?
Any literature I might benefit from reading?
I was just pretty surprised to read the full INTP description, as I felt it strongly applied to me.
