My sense of humour is gone.
I've been exposed to a lot of "funny" stimuli today.
I'm so sick of "funny".
Of force laughing at stupid jokes I've heard a million times in different variations.

You should just settle for some good satisfying hate and cynicism for now. Eventually things will become funny again.

When applied to me, that seems sarcastic.

Biting sarcasm is also a good substitute for general humor, though it has a tendency to get you into trouble. Alas I was not actually being sarcastic (unless it was unconscious.):tinykitball:

I can't do sarcasm very well. I've been working on it. My sarcasm almost shocked a few people into heart attacks.

I've had two occasions when I lost my sense of humor. The first was overwhelming burnout in college. The second was right after Sept. 11 (I live in the US). In both cases, the laughter started to return after a month or two, and gradually recovered completely. Maybe it will be the same for you.

Adair has a really good point. Indulging in cynicism might be just the thing you need. It worked for me when I was burned out. It feels really good, and although it makes things worse for a while, eventually you get tired of the cynicism and go back to laughing.

Good luck. (No sarcasm intended here.)

I can't take people's stupid jokes anymore. They're too repetitive and randomness doesn't exactly justify it.

Try laughing at people.
e.g. somebody tells a stupid joke, you laugh at their stupidity, then laugh harder when they start laughing with you :D

Hahaha, I love it. Funnily enough, pretty much the only time I laugh at all these days is when I'm laughing at something, or "taking the piss" as we call it in Australia.

This is grand, I may make this into a 'philosophy to live by' kind of thing, hahaha.

It makes me feel like I'd be a bit insane, my overactive imagination is having quite fun imagery at this concept!

Go do something serious. I have had these times when I have laughed my self out and now all I can't focus on other things. Doesn't happen too often though.

Okay, so here's what I've found:

Laughing at people is always fun but take care to not laugh too much or for too long. Sometimes somebody is just being so dumb I start to giggle and then they get mad at me for laughing at them. Then they get pissed off at me and start yelling at me. This only makes me laugh harder. Then I have to attempt to back peddle and it never ends well...:goat:...Hey, look! We have goats now!

I often go through what I call "Dead Times" where I feel pretty much just dead. I've got no emotions to feel. People ask me if I'm alright and I am. I just don't feel anything. It's as if I've used up my allotted amount of emotion for the day or week. Sounds like you've used up your humor quota.

Watch the movie 'O Brother Where Art Thou', it'll come back. Or, I Heart huckabees. Genius humor and stuff. Or! The ever reliable Monty Python film, The Holy Grail. Idk how an intuitive person could possibly get through these 3 movies without laughing. Try, I dare you!
