I'm going to try and get back to the original purpose of this thread a bit.

Fusion, this thread was not derailed, it was merely split. I'm moving that post into the appropriate thread.

Of course you're welcome! Make sure though if the thread is discussing the INTP personality type, if you talk about yourself, make sure to say that you aren't INTP as to not confuse the data. Other than that, you can post everywhere you want. :D

thanks! :) Well I have it in my signature so hopefully that's easy to see. I do feel I'm some hybrid type, that cheese and cow (?) were talking about earlier, somewhere between INTP and ENTP, but not both, just neither.

Dablob: how about friends -- and fans too! :)

I personally wouldn't mind if people had a place for oldtimers for oldtimer things, as long as others don't get locked out, because that makes it exclusive. I imagine it would be more a place with a certain purpose as opposed to a place (solely) for certain people.

Some good ideas, I am now accepting applications for the Blob's Fan Club
(I wonder if i need to print more than two apps?)

Good distinction - I would feel uncomfortable if people were locked out, but a meeting place for oldies would be good for them, I think.

The technical MBTI term you were thinking of is chocolate-cheese-cow :D

I think that the "meeting place for the oldies" would only have a contra effect. The forum was bound to expand sooner or later...
But as one of the newer members I don't believe it's my place to discuss this...
What I must say though is that this forum is truly special,to me at least.I've never been into forums and my post count would vary from 0-20 at best. This forum has a sort of a charm to it,and openness that's hard to come by.(which is paradoxical by itself, seeing the personality type it revolves around)

Behind you, kicking you in the ass
When I first found this forum, I felt like I was intruding my presence into a group of friends already established. But that is what every new person has to go through anywhere. It seems like most of the active posters today are newer than I am but I also wouldn't feel like I belong in any "older members" section and I can imagine feeling resentful if I were newly arrived here and found such a section established.

What was then was then, what is now is now. Remember what was then fondly if you choose but deal with what is now because what was then is not coming back and any effort to try and make it so would be futile at best. Anyone who wants an old timers club should start a new forum and invite the old timers they want and otherwise keep it secret. Even then things will change and soon you might feel the same way then as now. Trying to do it within this forum would be a mistake imo.

Personally, I like the now. The then was great but the now is great too.

Re: Invisible Boundaries

That is exactly what we need. I wondered how to ask the question without getting 'a list of rules', which is exactly what I don't want. I'm allergic.

Yes, because when a set of rules are written down, it preserves them and restrains the ruling power (i.e.: you) from ruling arbitrarily in that it allows the mere subjects to keep tabs on what is allowed and what is not, instead of you telling us. When you set down laws, then the ruler is expected to follow the Rule of Law...so by not giving us a written social contract, you deny us our rights! Come see the violence inherent in the system!

Just Kidding. :D:D:D (<--- I show these green smile people as a gesture of my good will, O beneficent ruler)

Funny, one of the best things about this place is that no one seemed to worrying about how we related to each other (which feels a little icky to me). I kind of wonder if you are trying to solve a problem which doesn't exist?

This seems a perfect community for INTPs - there's a minimum of protocol, the welcome was pleasant but not overwhelming, people aren't pestering you to make friends all the time (though I'd be flattered of course), I haven't a clue who's friends with whom -though I have a few intuitions about it - but that doesn't seem to matter much ... I wonder if the fact that it's grown has actually made it less threatening to new members because it is harder to identify old friendships. There are a lot of different spaces to choose from and I feel no pressure to participate in all of them. People are nice!! Lots of people to discuss things with. Nobody's made me feel like I'm wierd. Nobody's pulling rank (at least I've not observed that). I feel like I've come home after a long journey.

Basically, I think you've done a fabulous job creating the ground from which it's evolving INTPstylee.

I agree with snowqueen. I like how this forum is more like something that is grown naturally, rather than a planned city block.
