Hi all,

I've registered for this forum because I need some like-minded people in my life. My mind is going to waste this summer, I haven't made many friends since I moved here a couple years ago, and I need to feel like I'm not a waste of a body.

Some formalities:

I'm a mid-twenties undergrad student in Colorado, majoring in Nutrition (for what reason I've forgotten at the moment). I teach children how to swim, bicycle, drink craft beer, and am attempting to grow tomatoes.
My main hobby is online research in order to develop my knowledge, thoughts, worldview... Mainly human health, environmental health, societal problems/solutions, natural sciences, anthropology, and the list continues.

In addition to going to school I'm working on developing personally. For example, I'm trying to figure out how I can live minimallistically, how to make small talk, how to stand up straight. It's slow-going.

I hope I can learn and contribute on this website.

Sounds like my kind of people.
Welcome to the forum!

I'm a beginning college student (read: not a freshman, though) aha! I'm in Colorado Springs.

Sounds all good! Nice to meet you!

do you happen to know your MBTI personality type?
(I would assume INTP, seeing as ya know- but there are a few more others here)

you sound like a cool cat though I think kids should start with shitty domestic beers before they graduate to craft beer :) I'm 35, live in my camper van, read classic literature, practice martial arts and dream of one day owning my own tiny, self sustaining farm.

I misread the first part... But I think you should continue teaching children to drink craft beer.

As for the tomatoes, make sure to dig plenty of compost or other organic matter into your soil. Cannot stress this enough. Check your soil pH and rectify accordingly for your tomatoes. I'll never make that mistake again after I ruined an entire crop of Black Russians and Hungarian hearts from having overly acidic soil. Also, I recently read in one of my gardening books that you should piss on your tomatoes. But don't over do it.

P.s. yes I'm serious about the piss thing. And no I'm not a crazy hippy. You should also piss on your lemon tree if you have one.

It's a curse. I'll walk past somebody at uni writing an essay or something and immediately see a multitude of mistakes. Add in the fact that I have superhuman vision and it's a nightmare. I'm the worst kind of grammar nazi. However, I couldn't care less about my own spelling/grammar/etc. I have to try and keep my eyes away from other people's work, or I get the urge to correct them. Nobody likes that guy...

Interesting. A spelling error will catch my eyes relatively quickly, but nowhere near your capability. Are you inclined to finish word searches really quickly? haha. My skill set lies in the actual grammar; I notice even when people are talking - like how most people fail to use adverbs correctly or at all. e.g. "you're walking slow(ly)" etc.

Yeah I find word searches easy but they don't interest me. I like jigsaws and wasgijs.

I also notice errors when people are talking. But far less often because it is quite rare for me to listen to people when they speak for longer than a sentence. I don't correct them often because my verbal communication skills are quite poor in comparison to my written ones.

I have freakish eyesight, but rubbish hearing. Fair trade off I think.

Fair enough, I'm sure I will be legally blind in a couple of years, waiting to get laysec(?/whatever), but I have big ears and can hear lol.
You know how they say when one of ur senses goes down/away the others go up etc, well you know the rest.
