I propose Roald Dahl was an INTP. With a touch of ESTP in his earlier years?

I am not so sure of my ground here. Intuition says and close analysis may not bear this out as correct?

I'm not sure...I loved Dahl as child (still do).

Maybe I don't know enough about him, but he didn't seem like an Intp in his works.....

Douglas Adams?

Socrates? Plato perhaps?

Socrates must have been an Idealist to die for his beliefs ??? INFP ??? INXP ??? But he has more resolution than me so he could be INTP ???

I fall down on Resolution on the Rational side fo things. I go for fantastical mythological ahead of resolute logic on one occasion when it mattered. My Intuition said do this and my rational justification came afterwards. But only 7 on my Thinking does not lead to great rationality.

Plato strikes me as a J. The whole republic scheme is too... brutal to be devised by a P.

I've so far always seen him typed as an INTP. I guess that because of his INTPness he was so detached from the meaning of death that death was the only logical possibility.

I'd agree with JoeJoe.

This quote from Crito seems to show a logical trap to me: "He who has experience of the manner in which we order justice and administer the State, and still remains, has entered into an implied contract that he will do as we command him."

But not to stray from the thread topic too much, Vladimir Nabokov? It's hard for me to pinpoint many INTP writers of fiction, although a lot of people consider Franz Kafka INTP.

In my mind Jorge Luis Borges is an INTP. His stories are more about exploring philosophical concepts than developing three-dimensional characters. Seems very INTP-ish.

Anybody read Herman Melville (Moby Dick?) I think he was because of his heavy logical scenarios and like quips of philosophy... I think it's hard to tell, although I know for sure that my writing is very different... What distinguishes intp authors from others I wonder?
