Hi guys! I just found this site so I could try to understand my INTP friend . Whenever I try to go up to him and have a conversation, he just walks away. I just want to be able to feel him and get how he thinks, but no matter how hard I try to empathyze with him he just act cold and distant. I hate to make stereotypes about people, but you guys always look down on me like I am stupid! A few days ago my INTP friend once told me that my degree (feminist studies) was "about as useful as Anne Frank without a diary". This really hurt me because I think it was an insult, but I'm really not sure what he meant. Why are you all allways so hard to understand? I just want to know you... It's what makes me feel a need to get you, though. Anyway, can any iof you help me understand my friend?

... anyway, I'm guessing you and your INTP friend have different expectations for how to communicate in the relationship. What you're looking for in terms of "being close" and/or "Connecting" isn't what he is looking for or how he communicates.

INTPs differ, I typically would only make that Anne Frank joke if I knew the person I was with would get it and laugh (or if I didn't like them and hoped they'd shove off after that, ha), but maybe he is joking with you because he views you as a friend. Sometimes INTPs can come off as sardonic, but we're usually looking for mental stimulation without preconceived notions -- which can mean discussing a wide variety of topics / trying to figure things out and also joking about a lot of things, some of which might not be socially approved of but to us it's not usually personal, it's a form of play and exploration.

I just noticed that this comment could be taken in an offending way but I assure you it is all based on logical observations. First, how did find out about you being a succubi? well, first you eat semen, secondly you studied feminist studies, so you must be from hell and thirdly you like em fried which correlates to the idea of you being from hell, since hell is hot.

Succubi are the mythological creature taking the appearance of lustful desire which nicely fits with being a florist, flowers are typically given as an expression of appreciation after all. Succubi feed on others life force through sex and are generally though of being from hell. I understand your need to survive of feeding from my fellow INTP but I cannot in good conciousness not protect them, mostly since they might go to hell otherwise and I cannot bear the thought of sending them there without at least some sunscreen.

ESFJ's can come off really strong, he might feel overwhelmed by all you have to offer him.

That's definitely coming on too strong. Let him come to you, reign yourself in. As soon as he knows you want to really get into him he turns off.

lol ... sorry that was clever. Intelligent systems defense mechanism, don't worry about it. He doesn't mean it in the way that you take it. Well, the way any normal person would take it too for that matter. He wasn't trying to be personally insulting, more stating an opinion and perhaps putting you off a bit.
