I am a huge fan of puns.
I find most humor in human error, particularly my own. The more irrational my behavior, the bigger the pitfalls I unwittingly stumble over, the more I miss the completely obvious and the bigger the mistakes I make because of it the the more utterly hilarious the situation becomes, when I look at it outside of myself.
Also, watching the evening news last night I had a hysterical laughing fit that lasted about fifteen minutes, where I couldn't seem to get myself under control at all- It was a story about some volcano down in mexico, I think it was, somewhere south and warm anyway, and the news anchor was talking about how people where preparing for a possible eruption but the image they put on the screen to show people "preparing" was a guy in an empty street with a bandanna wrapped around his face and he was sweeping the road! Then it zoomed in to the pile of dirt he was sweeping up!
It was just so ludicrous, to think that was how one prepares for a volcano, by cleaning up the empty town all alone out in the street, as though it isn't a force of nature that is going to possibly kill you but something more like your in laws going to come over and judge you if the place is a mess!
I was put into a complete fit over that.
I am really rotten at telling typical jokes though. I fizzle the punch line nearly every time, and can't seem to get my inflections right to make it interesting on the way to the punch line.
