Ok, please excuse the first part of this post, it has nothing to do with the way i want this thread in general, it'll just be my thought process and a few personal notes for people that want to read it, otherwise skip to the squiggly(~~~) line.

So i was sitting here eating pistachios when i suddenly came up with the perfect thread idea, i don't THINK it's been done, but i digress. So i was sitting here reading and all the sudden i think, "I'm in INTP Heaven." That turns into "What's everyone's 'Heaven'." And on and on until i got to the conclusion for this thread.

My current "INTP Heaven"?
Eating a 1 pound bag of pistachios on the second floor of a 2 floor library at 10am on a Saturday. With my laptop no less. Now onto the conclusion i came to.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I have a survey for you. It's not mandatory, but highly recomended that you do it as input for different situations may change perspective and someone may find something more favorable than what they originally put. If you don't have anything to contribute considering the survey, please don't post.
1. Where/what is your haven for when you need to be alone and can't particularly get to your house?
2. If you could have a dream house, where would you want it located? Why would you want it there?
3. In your head (imagination), what is the most peaceful/calming place you can think of? Why?
4. You can control the weather for one day, what's it going to be like? Again, why?
5. Now chose a location, snack, and form of entertainment you would enjoy most at this moment in time. Elaborate?
That's it, a simple 5.5 question survey. Questions can be added if they are deemed worthy. I have 5 pages of information I'd like to say, but i think it's just the library atmosphere.
Okay I'll take a whack at it
1. The only time that I can't physically get to my house is usually only at school. The case in which I actually need to go to an "INTP heaven" would be lunch time, I hate the food and the crowd. I either go to the library to read, or Mr.Webbs' room (the system administrator for the school, I'm his assistant and he pretty much lets us come and go as we please), or lastly I would stay in my art class instead of go, the teacher is pretty cool in there too. The only problem with this response is that I am never completely alone and there's usually one of my friends in all of those places, but that does't bother me because they are people that I like.
2. A mansion in Iceland. I've heard that people up there are statistally the happiest on earth, plus I've always wanted to see what it would be like. I would'nt mind drinking booze with people up there either, it may turn out to be funny every time. Just in general that seems nice place to live, what with the green grass and stuff.
3. ??? it's a little consusing since with you reffering to my brain as a physical location to take a vacation to, but i'll roll with it. let's see...well, there's plenty of places in my head that I enjoy and are exilarating or interesting, but finding the most "Peaceful/Calming" place? Now that's a tough one. I guess a calming or relaxing thought comes when I'm lying in bed, listening to either alternative rock or Spa music, and I invision myself in the future as a successful writer who makes a good income while still being able to walk around his house in a cumfy plaid robe and boxers while I type away at a computer...yea...that seems good.
4. It would be a sunny day, with clouds partly covering the sun as to cast a shadow, I love that feeling. There would be just enough wind to mess with your hair as you look around at the nice day. There wouldn't be much traffic on the road (even though that not to do with weather, I would still like it.) I guess it would be one of those days where you could just fall asleep in the grass without a care in the world.
5. I would love to be drinking Gatorade while eating Grippo's potatoe chips while Joe Satriani, in person, would be playing soothing guitar songs while a drifted away into space (Though Joe couln't be standing too close, cause then it would feel weird drifting off)
So there you are, and INTPs(borderline "F") heavenly conditions, hope you enjoy.
My INTP heaven is inside my head. It doesn't matter where I am, or what I'm doing, I can retreat partially or fully to my castle in the air and contemplate something from my box of favorite ideas.
My dream house isn't even physically possible with current technology. Come back in a hundred years - or five hundred. :)
The most calming place in my head is being immersed in the middle of my designs and ideas.
If it was only one day, I would make it a fairly nice, bland, fine Spring day. If I had several days to play around with, I might throw in a thunderstorm of the spectacularly pyrotechnic kind, with just enough rain to wash the streets and bring out the smell of the grass, while not making the ground soggy enough to result in high humidity and mosquitoes.
1. Where/what is your haven for when you need to be alone and can't particularly get to your house?
Either a labyrinth of a library with lots of comfy chairs, or the graphic design computer lab, complete with a bag of pistachios, my MP3 player, camera, Adobe CS4, and a good tablet.
2. If you could have a dream house, where would you want it located? Why would you want it there?
An abandoned beach sounds nice. Nothing but the calming sounds of the ocean, perfectly fine sand to sink my feet into, and the opportunity to watch the sun sink into the water at the end of the day. Sounds nice. I could also go for an underground high tech lair in the desert in the southwest US somewhere. I'm not exactly sure why, but it's been a pipe dream of mine for years.
3. In your head (imagination), what is the most peaceful/calming place you can think of? Why?
On top of a green grassy hill covered in assorted wildflowers overlooking a lake and mountains. It would be late afternoon or evening, when the sky is starting to turn pink, purple, and orange, but it's not dark yet. There would also be a slight warm breeze.
4. You can control the weather for one day, what's it going to be like? Again, why?
It will be nice and sunny and clear during the morning, starting to get overcast by noon, with a sudden thunderstorm with lots of rain and lightning. Nature's fireworks. :) The thunderstorm will clear up at about 5 PM, giving way to an incredibly powerful and beautiful sunset, with the sun's rays poking through the clouds like spears. And during the night, I'd want it to be perfectly clear with a dark purple sky.
5. Now choose a location, snack, and form of entertainment you would enjoy most at this moment in time. Elaborate?
A bag of pistachios or chips w/ salsa in my room, working on some sort of art.
1. Where/what is your haven for when you need to be alone and can't particularly get to your house?
The park?
2. If you could have a dream house, where would you want it located? Why would you want it there?
Windy, grassy grassland meadow area. It's definitely my definition of "relaxing".
3. In your head (imagination), what is the most peaceful/calming place you can think of? Why?
Windy, grassy grassland meadow area with few trees. My definition of "peaceful and calming".
4. You can control the weather for one day, what's it going to be like? Again, why?
Cloudy/Windy. Its hard to explain why. Perhaps Windy,Cloudy, grassland reminds me of freedom, possibilities, and safety.
5. Now chose a location, snack, and form of entertainment you would enjoy most at this moment in time. Elaborate?
Beside a tree, water, and just looking at the sky. I've experienced too much physical and mental activity these few weeks, a relaxation would work.
1. Where/what is your haven for when you need to be alone and can't particularly get to your house?
I could give you exact locations, but I'm not going to.
2. If you could have a dream house, where would you want it located? Why would you want it there?
Underground, where it's cool and quiet.
3. In your head (imagination), what is the most peaceful/calming place you can think of? Why?
Deep space between galaxies, the view would just be amazing.
4. You can control the weather for one day, what's it going to be like? Again, why?
Rain, because it cleans the world, and the sound of summer rain is heavenly.
5. Now chose a location, snack, and form of entertainment you would enjoy most at this moment in time. Elaborate?
Expensive vodka and a dusty old book about psychology, ideally.
1. Wherever I may hide. Ideally I have a book or my DS with me. Libraries are usually peaceful, but I don't like it if it's too crowdy.
2. Near a forest which is near the mountains. No close neighbors. Peaceful and quiet. Spacey. I want both dogs and cats running free without worrying about them getting hit by cars, or bothering neighbors by peeing in their gardens. Maybe I'll grow some vegetables (I like being self-suppliant, just in case..). I also want to take my dog(s) for walks in the mountains. Exercising. Also, it will be safe to walk outside in the dark. And I can climb trees whenever I feel like it.
3. A meadow with some trees here and there, and it's not entirely flat. It's evening, a bit windy and there is a eerie mood. There are also some animals and creatures that I like. Some exist in RL, others do not. They have the intelligence of humans. Beautiful night sky. And a lake where you can see the reflection of the moon. And no spiders or other things that stick to you =< There's also a small river where the animals drink.
4. Massive rain. I love rain and water. It would be warm outside so that i didn't have to stay inside. It's calming. The sound of rain is nice. Some distant non-dangerous lightning would be nice too.
5. Home, chocolate and videogaming. Or watching the last season of Lost while finishing a jigsaw puzzle.
1. Where/what is your haven for when you need to be alone and can't particularly get to your house?
Any library.
2. If you could have a dream house, where would you want it located? Why would you want it there?
Small uninhabited island with sufficient resources for self-sufficiency.
3. In your head (imagination), what is the most peaceful/calming place you can think of? Why?
Warm autumn day on a long-abandoned farm near a salt marsh, with the smell of leaves and fallen walnuts. all after a hard frost the night before, ensuring that the persimmons fallen to the ground will be ripe and sweet.
4. You can control the weather for one day, what's it going to be like? Again, why?
Warm, soft, slightly humid autumn day. See above.
5. Now choose a location, snack, and form of entertainment you would enjoy most at this moment in time. Elaborate?
Oh, the persimmons, of course. When they are good and ready they are deliriously sweet. Eat them before they're ready and it's like chewing alum. A good way to learn patience.... And eating them is it's own entertainment, although it would be nice to see some crows making life miserable for an owl.
1. Where/what is your haven for when you need to be alone and can't particularly get to your house?
ummm. well my house isn't really my "haven" anyway, buuut... i dunno, really. in germany i haven't had much of a "haven". when i lived in texas, though, i would always go for a walk to sort through my thoughts, and i usually ended up at either the elementary school playground or the more "grown up" park near my house.
2. If you could have a dream house, where would you want it located? Why would you want it there?
i would love a small apartment in the big city. not the crappy part of a city or anything, but a decent part, i mean i don't want to hear people getting raped outside my window or anything -- but i do love the buzz of people. i appreciate sirens. as far as cities goes, i dunno, maybe boston or new york or amsterdam or berlin or somewhere. somewhere with a real culture.
3. In your head (imagination), what is the most peaceful/calming place you can think of? Why?
in a quiet room, at that time of day when it's just getting dark, where the lighting is soft, there's a rainstorm going on outside, pattering against the window, and i'm curled up in a blanket with a cat in my lap and maybe a fire going. the quiet noise is what i'm going for i guess... it's really not necessarily a "place" for me. anywhere with rain.
4. You can control the weather for one day, what's it going to be like? Again, why?
rain rain rain. noisy rain, heavy rain, pregnant storm clouds filling up the sky all day. it's just relaxing to me.
5. Now chose a location, snack, and form of entertainment you would enjoy most at this moment in time. Elaborate?
see number 3... as long as my dad wasn't here... and maybe if my best-friend-fiance was, and we could just sit around talking to each other all night. and i could stroke his hair and everything. and we could munch on popcorn or chocolate or strawberries or something. maybe we could watch a movie.
bahahaaaa i love him.
this is all very un-INTP-like of me, isn't it?
NOOOOOOOO, I answered all of these questions a few days ago, but with my bad luck, i answered and was about to post but someone decided to "destroy" the forum (aka jesin :()
so now I'll have to answer them over again, and I had one of those questions filled out with a detailed answer.
Plz note I will edit tihs with my answers for when i get the chance, so please don't take this post as being, off topic and such.
1. Where/what is your haven for when you need to be alone and can't particularly get to your house?
Well, I don't know if I would really want to go to my house anyway... but I'd have to say my church, mainly because I know every nook and cranny and it's just so peaceful and familiar. But if I'm stuck somewhere and just need to be alone, I'll just sit somewhere where people wouldn't notice me and zone out and think. I hate it when people come over and think there's something wrong though :)
2. If you could have a dream house, where would you want it located? Why would you want it there?
In the mountains! With an amazing view and woods nearby. I've always loved the mountains; they're so secluded and close to nature and perfect for getting your thoughts together.
3. In your head (imagination), what is the most peaceful/calming place you can think of? Why?
Probably in the woods. Sitting on a tree stump where it's totally quiet with the occasional animal coming by. Why? I guess the same reasons listed for the previous question...
4. You can control the weather for one day, what's it going to be like? Again, why?
Cold and snowy. But not too cold to where it numbs your face off within a minute. Just cold enough to require a coat, scarf, and gloves. I love it when snow envelops everything and completely changes the atmosphere of a place.
5. Now chose a location, snack, and form of entertainment you would enjoy most at this moment in time. Elaborate?
Oooh, tough one. Probably sitting out by my favorite spot by a creek near my house, in the snow with either dark chocolate or pita chips. For entertainment, I'd say either a Jane Austen novel or some kind of psychology-ish book. Or an old book on trig I'm studying right now. I actually find it enjoyable, don't hate :)
1. Where/what is your haven for when you need to be alone and can't particularly get to your house?
As far as walking along the railroad tracks will take me away from civilization.
2. If you could have a dream house, where would you want it located? Why would you want it there?
On some mountain, at the top of a steep valley. The valley would have a lake at the bottom, and every morning there would be heavy fog collected over the water's surface. On the other side of the lake would be an orchard.
Why? It's peaceful, it's mildly self-sufficient, and it's isolated.
3. In your head (imagination), what is the most peaceful/calming place you can think of? Why?
Curled up in front of a fire, resting against either a dog or a loved one, at the time just after sunset when a few stars are peeking through.
Because I like the feel of a compassionate living thing beside me, fire is soothing, and that time of day/night is beautiful.
4. You can control the weather for one day, what's it going to be like? Again, why?
Gentle autumn rain. Just because.
5. Now chose a location, snack, and form of entertainment you would enjoy most at this moment in time. Elaborate?
Location: outside in nature, away from people.
Snack: I'm not much of a snacker...if I'm busy outside, I'm probably not eating.
Entertainment: Give me something to climb. A waterfall, a cliff, a tree, anything.
1. Where/what is your haven for when you need to be alone and can't particularly get to your house?
It's at the top of a hill, about a half-hour's drive away from my house in the middle of nowhere. There's not often a lot of people there, and you can hide easily between all the giant rocks scattered over it. It's always really windy, and you can see for miles around you.
2. If you could have a dream house, where would you want it located? Why would you want it there?
My dream house would be built into a mountainside, where I could walk down into a city, or catch a bus or something. Far enough away for me to get peace and quiet, but I've grown up close to cities my whole life, and I know I'd miss many things that a city has to offer if I ever did move into the countryside. Plus, I like it being windy, and my experience up to now is that the higher up you get, the more wind there is.
3. In your head (imagination), what is the most peaceful/calming place you can think of? Why?
In the middle of the woods, in the rain. Wrapped up in a blanket so I'm not too cold. Woods always seem peaceful to me, and the rain would drown out any footsteps if there was anyone else nearby.
4. You can control the weather for one day, what's it going to be like? Again, why?
Easy, wind and light drizzle. Not too cold, but cold enough so that not many people are about to go outside. And after that, a thunderstorm once I'm home and I can curl up in my room or on a sofa and watch it. I like the rain, and I'm used to it. Any day without at least a bit of rain feels strange to me. =P
5. Now chose a location, snack, and form of entertainment you would enjoy most at this moment in time. Elaborate?
Well.. bearing in mind I've not been sleeping much recently... (Why is it that books always seem to be more important that the homework you have to do for the next day? And why do I always read before I've actually done any work and end up only starting it at about midnight?)
Location: My bed, preferably knowing that I don't have to go anywhere in the morning.
Snack: Either nothing, or a glass of milk with some vanilla essence added.
Entertainment: My mind, and my cat. Maybe a new book to read too.
1. Where/what is your haven for when you need to be alone and can't particularly get to your house?
Listening to my mp3 player, then I can zone out and pretend I'm alone. Or alternatively walking along a quiet road somewhere.
Perhaps a library, but my perfect library would needs shelves about 5 times my own height and wooden, there would be no one else there, it would take at least half an hour to walk from one end to the other, and it would have to have exactly the right sort of smell of old books.
2. If you could have a dream house, where would you want it located? Why would you want it there?
I don't really know. My perfect home would be in wilderness somewhere completely isolated, but at the same time a 5 minute walk from some shops.
3. In your head (imagination), what is the most peaceful/calming place you can think of? Why?
A thick dark forest, down in a valley and with a small stream. I feel very safe in places like this, and could happily stay there forever.
Some people say the sound of waves is very calming, but the sound actually seems to make me angry.
4. You can control the weather for one day, what's it going to be like? Again, why?
A heavy thunderstorm, and with no wind. I like the rain, the sound of it and the feel of it hitting me, but I hate wind. And the day starts sunny so that everyone else has left their house with light clothing and I can laugh on the inside at their irrational hatred of falling water.
5. Now chose a location, snack, and form of entertainment you would enjoy most at this moment in time. Elaborate?
The roof of a old building, human brain, throwing bones at passers by. I'll leave the elaboration to your imaginations.
