I never wear makeup, never do anything to my hair, and only shave when absolutely necessary. In other words, I'm not very particular about my appearance in a lot of ways. But I'm inexplicably well-dressed. Somehow by ignoring trends and wearing whatever I feel like (which is, admittedly, a little strange sometimes) I've become something of a style icon at school. Any of you in the same boat?

I like looking unique without being trendy or flashy.

I'm actually pretty fashion conscious, but when I go out clothes shopping I tend to concern myself more with what I don't want to look like than what I do want to look like (It's an Fe sensitivity thing.)

I used to have a lot of weird hairstyles in highschool, but I got sick of having to do them every morning. So now I just get hairstyles that still look good even if I don't do anything with them. Also, I shave pretty regularly too because I look like crap otherwise, my facial hair comes in really patchy.

Yes. wait, no.

as of right now, i sort of have a Bum-L-Lawliet look going on (i really don't care.). finally being given my own reign from mom, i prefer dressing in old passed on clothes from relatives if they're 1)not embarrassing(non-descript/plain is good enough) and 2)soft (if they're comfortable, i'll pick it out more) and 3) doesn't stink. 3) depends cause i might be feeling too careless to change for long periods of times.

however, i can easily imagine the other scenario.

when i was in elementary and middle school, i was completely oblivious to trends (short term memory and inability to really ... care or notice that fashion trends existed. i mean most of it was really ugly). i used to create a lot of original characters and stick on whatever seems nice to me or appealed aesthetically, and i remember my friends quite liked the outfits.

i suppose, if i was actually given my own budget to buy clothes or anything else, (my mom tends to do the shopping and is a slave to fashion so generally buys that ... but i find it too recently embarrassing to wear anymore). i mean, i've never actually set foot in a mall (or known/remembered what a mall was) or been shopping for clothes until i was like 13+ to visit my aunt's store. i can probably count on one hand how many times i've been in a mall.

so maybe under different conditions i might have actually developed a fashion sense ... interesting.

I an usually not that conscious of what cloths I wear on a given day but I am very choosy about the cloths I buy....and this usually happens that when I go to buy cloths I end up buying nothing as nothing pleases.....but sometimes buy stuffs randomly when I an walking by the street and spot a nice looking T-shirt or jeans.......though my choice is not what is currently in fashion or what peoples usually would consider cool
but in my college farewell I was awarded the "best dressed senior" by my juniors....

I never wear make up (I'm a guy, though, so that probably doesn't count for much).

I don't like girls to wear make-up.

I hardly notice clothes, except when they're not there.

I don't follow any particular fashion or really any pattern from day to day. I don't concern myself with current trends.
I wear what I like and what I feel like wearing that particular day, mostly as a mild means of personal expression I suppose. I like to like what I'm wearing because it makes me feel good.
I also have a tendency to wear the something over and over again if I'm fond of it.
I prefer not to look sloppy because
a) It's just in my nature to like to look at least somewhat well groomed, and
b) Sad as it is in most cases people are in fact judged by outward appearance and though I don't find it particularly important to impress people, you never know when looking presentable could be important.
(Note: This philosophy only applies on the days I actually care.)
As for hair and makeup. I don't wear much makeup and I like it best that way. Too much looks artificial and just feels wrong. I'll straighten my hair if I feel like it, mostly just depends on the day and how much energy I'm willing to expend.

I agree with EyeSeeCold. I don't like girls who wear make-up, it is like a nasty mask. But eyeliner and lipstick is ok, it just seems to highlight nice features that are already there.

But me personally, I don't try to look like any fashion, I am a guy, my hair is usually long, I comb it to keep it from getting knotted. I shave because I don't like facial hair, it is annoying to feel. I wear whatever clothes I currently have clean, and I don't care what I look like. I admit I fit in the converse shoe thing for a while when it was big for some reason, but that is because I had always worn them, and will probably always wear them, mostly because my family was poor and the shoes were dirt cheap back then and my mom didn't have to spend much money on getting new ones since they lasted forever.

I usually hardly wear make-up -- I don't find it necessary. The most I'll use is a lip balm. I do, however, paint my nails. I normally use a dark red I'm keen to. I think it looks classy and it catches people's eyes easily. It's a weird, illogical, fanciful notion, but I do it all the same.

I don't particularly follow any 'fashion' guidelines. My wardrobe is mostly a mix-up of sweaters and weird 'indie' looking things. I have a few favorites -- boots and skirts, mainly. Whatever suits my fancy. Sometime it's just jeans and a t-shirt. My hair is very long [waist-length when straightened/wet, falls at varying degrees short of that when dry, depending on how the curls fall].

I try not to look sloppy -- I don't care for people who won't make a decent attempt to look groomed, i.e., going to school in sweat pants and ratty, unkempt hair. Aghhh. At least look like you care.

I generally don't wear makeup, I don't like the feel of it on my face. However if I am going out somewhere to an important event I will wear a light foundation and lip gloss just to tidy up my appearance. I also use hair gel to slick back or spike up my hair just about everyday. I am very picky about my hair and fuss around with it, most days though my hair resembles Einstein's.

Fashion wise I like Victorian fashions. They had it going on. ;)
I generally wear a blouse with a black vest and fitting black jeans or business pants with boots. I also like to carry a pocket watch on me. I like my clothing to be nice fitting and tidy.

Usually though when I'm not going out to meet anyone or do anything I just wear my normal ho hum clothes. A sweatshirt with shorts or jeans. I don't dress up when I go off and do things such as training. No makeup, just casual.

I don't really follow trends to follow trends.

I don't avoid them, if they reflect my personality, but I don't cater to them just because they exist, and I tend to be turned off by those who pursue them just because they are trends.

My clothing is really just a way to show my identity. Even when I dress pragmatically, I want my clothes to reflect, project, and resonate with who I am. I can wear some diverse styles of clothes, as long as they aesthetically look good, fit my practical needs of the moment, and reflect my identity.

I would imagine that INTPs in general don't really care what they wear, so long as it fits comfortably. That's how I do it, anyhow. My superiors and my wife care what I wear more than I do. For example, my wife doesn't like the shirt I'm wearing in my avatar pic. She tends not to like shirts with words on them, whereas I find a funny statement to be a bigger statment about myself than what kind of shirt it is, where it's from, or what color it is. I sincerely do not understand fashion, beyond knowing it's an attempt to look good. She also doesn't like it when I act full of myself, which I do a lot, I guess. Maybe most people don't realize it's primarily a joke. I may consider myself above average, but I'd never claim I'm a "hunk" or anything. Well, not seriously.

... I think that counts as "rambling".

I really don't mind what I wear, as long as it is clean and comfortable. I do not understand why people would go out to buy hundred dollar dresses just to impress somebody special. Concerning my taste, I prefer darker clothes, somewhat more boyish kinds. Fashion was never something I needed.

Right over there..
I never wear any make-up. Like someone said, I don't like the feel of it on my face. As for clothes, I honestly couldn't be bothered with fashion. I wear things which I find comfortable. Mostly that means t-shirts which are a little too large for me. Overall I think I look fairly presentable most of the times.

I wear nothing that I would say could constitute such a concept that it would reasonably require the term 'fashion' to define it. That said, my clothing consists of soft, comfortable, rather loose fabric in dark hues. I prefer wearing boots and trainers to all other footwear. Cosmetics I own none, despite my gender, and my only accessories are a gently-used umbrella, an handmade necklace, and several hats. Thus.

I do care a little. I don't want to wear the exact same as everybody else, nor look like an attention-seeking douchebag.

I usually go for somewhat slim-fit mens' jeans in the colors black or grey, just not so slim-fit that you can see the shape of my legs... That's kind of creepy. And for shoes... Something cheap and usually black that I can quickly put on my feet before going somewhere. So I go for boots or something vans-like. For the rest... Shirts, jackets, hoodies, sweaters. All grey white or black. Sometimes something green, purple, yellow or red.

I hate the way makeup feels, I dislike (for the most part) the way it looks.
I love following fashion trends, I actually subscribe to Vogue. However, I don't actually buy very many "fashionable" clothes, I just go to the thrift store or make them myself. I choose clothes based on the comfort, color, and aesthetics. Most of my clothes are flattering and super comfy. People tell me I have a "good taste in clothes", whatever that means.
As far as hair goes, I just wake up in the morning and look at it in the mirror. If it's acting weird, I put it in a bun/ponytail and leave it be. If it looks acceptable, I leave it down. I don't brush my hair.. It's naturally very straight and doesn't get into any major tangles.

Mmmm... I am kinda' like that too. Once in a while, I flip through some fashion magazines, but they don't really persuade me into buying anything fashionable. lol. Hoodies are great! :3

I have a large number of short sleeved baseball tees in various colors and a belt bucket with a giant eye on it.

I need some leather gloves to perfect my 'German Rocket Scientist' look.
