INTP and Politics

The Political Compass is a relatively thorough test of one's political stance. It would be interesting to see whether there is a correlation between type and politics.

Excerpt from Wikipedia:
The underlying principle of the Political Compass is that political views may be better measured along two separate and independent axes. The Economic (Left-Right) axis measures one's opinion of how the economy should be run: "left" is defined as the view that the economy should be run by a cooperative collective agency (which can mean the state, but can also mean a network of communes), while "right" is defined as the view that the economy should be left to the devices of competing individuals and organisations. The other axis (Authoritarian-Libertarian) measures one's political opinions in a social sense, regarding a view of the appropriate amount of personal freedom: "libertarianism" is defined as the belief that personal freedom should be maximised, while "authoritarianism" is defined as the belief that authority and tradition should be obeyed

I'm always perfectly in the middle. Not very encouraging since most politicians are either strong right wing authoritarians or libertarian leftists.

That thread also supports the conclusion that INTPs are largely libertarian. Most of us are also pretty leftist, though there are exceptions.

I feel like an odd one out now with my economic rightness. I retook the test, and I got even more right and more libertarian. No surprises for me.

However, I was kind of disappointed. With a lot of the questions, the agree or disagree options didn't explain my views very well. I wish it could be a consultation, where I could type in my answer with an explanation.
