I doubt you can 'change' your type consciously, however I think it's entirely possible and indeed likely that it could change over the course of your life.
The person I was as a child is unrecognisable to me now.
As humans, our psychological structures are dynamic. I've reached this conclusion from the evidence that human civilization is dynamic. For, what is the psychological structure of our civilization if not a macrocosm of all our little microcosms? Furthermore, the human brain changes and rewires itself. My argument may not seem at all airtight, but this is just a forum after all, and not a thesis paper.
I agree with both of these
While I think most people on this forum do not agree with it being possible types evolve, and it is rather you evolving and learning to deal with your future functions, I do not think your types are genuinely set in stone.
I honestly think that outside parameters influence us enough (EVEN AS INTP!) to have a major effect on your development and life. Especially with children. I'm not so sure if adults can change sides, but with all due respect, if we could type babies i'm sure we'd be wrong as often as not. Not because of the impossibility to type a baby anyways, simply because these things are still subject to change. Would it not be naive to say our upbringing has no involvement in our typology?
Having said all this, I don't think a thread just made your F kick our your T, that just sounds ridiculous -no offence-. If it did, then the F must've always been there, waiting.
Sidenote : I think it has been proven introvercy / extrovercy is somewhat hardwired in our brains. It is the S / N and J / P ones i'm questioning, however.
