I was recently released from a mental hospital.

Information overload, it's a real bitch -- I swear.

I'm now on anti psychotics.

I'm not going to waste my energy though.

I'm just here to learn and browse and learn and browse and see and think

Like I've always done.

Nice cover, ESC... well done. And since we're supposed to ignore that post, welcome back Preilemus.

EDIT: I'm sorry, I totally meant Jarnew... I had just finished replying to Preilemus's post on another thread, and still had their name stuck in my head....

Right on on getting out of the hospital, but about those anti-psychotics, you should read this book called Anatomy of an Epidemic about long term outcomes with drugs like those. Well, either way, depending on your severity, you should stay on the medication short term maybe. Oh, and welcome back to the forum! By the way, browse and learn, good philosophy.

It's ridiculous because what essentially triggered my 'psychosis' was sleep deprivation. Then thye gave me a drug for sleep which caused paranoia, the paranoia led me to getting put on anti psychotics.

All I needed was sleep and I would have been fine. But one drug led to more drugs and now I'm supposed to rely on drugs.

Thanks for the welcome back

Hi Melkor :borg:

Keep perspective; often the effects of these drugs compound - i.e., more drugs, higher doses lead to more problems, and the original problem becomes a sweet dream; doctors often tell patients at their first consultation that they need to be on drugs the rest of their lives, which is dubious.

You seem to have good insight into your problems; please do not let doctors strong arm you into thinking you have an increasingly finite number of options to lead a happy life. This is your life: let them play games with their research participants.

When you look at the people and countries with the best long term outcomes, they view treatment as a temporary stepping stone to getting their lives back on the rails.

So your doctors approach was that all problems can be solved with drugs? Wait...that sounds familiar. Wasn't that the theme of drug thread? Ah, it all makes sense now.

See now a psychiatrist's greatest threat is an INTP. What better way to trick the INTPs than to pretend to be them and exhume the idea that all problems can be solved with drugs! I knew it! I'm off to tell some more people! ...right after I take my medications; They are making me take my medications :(.
