OK, it's a rather silly and pointless one (but could be further developed). And the technology is rather old school.

I did it primarily to prove a point, that Java is in no way deficient for writing RTT/RTS games. There's a dearth of such games written in Java.

But most importantly it was fun doing it.

Run Dunes_of_Terror.jar. I assume you have Java installed.

Hey, I'd love to try it out, especially considering I am trying to learn java at the moment.

However, when I open it using Winrar, I get the following error: ! C:\Downloads\Dunes of Terror.zip: Unexpected end of archive

And only a few folders/files are shown, not the entire archive.

It has a lot of potential, however for some reason I won instantly on the hard level. I hope I can eventually make games like these.. After a while I want to make some good RTS games.

I'd had many more plans for the game, but they all couldn't come to fruition because I was starting a new job

If anyone wants to do something useful with it, I'm quite willing to open a SourceForge Hg/Git repo and you can check out the code from there.

My gunner got stuck in the base and the base was stuck on automatic fire, then the map wouldn't move and I couldn't click anything, then I couldn't close the program for a good minute even with end task, all with the constant machine gun firing going off in the background!! PTSD!



I'll give it another try soon.
