I like MBTI, but it has a lot of flaws. For more info on my reasoning and links to studies, I made a post about this stuff in my other thread, it's post #28. (The most relevant information is in the bottom third of the post.)

Here's my first draft of the SOLACE Personality Survey

Please keep in mind that I was limited in my platforms. I found a place that let me make a decent survey for free, provided I stick to a couple of question types and not exceed 15 questions (this is 12, but they're long). Eventually, I'd like to have type description pages, but that will require me to host this test myself because if you take neutral outcomes into account, there would be like 100 different personality types.

Other than formatting complaints, I really want you to post your results along with your opinions, any critical or general questions you may have, and feedback about the survey. It was really fun, but I don't want to go any deeper without some scrutiny.

I'd prefer if you read this brief run-down of the survey after taking it, but before presenting your feedback.
I kept the general MBTI factors. Though, I made some changes to T/F, I/E, and J/P in order to tease out any references to the stability and prosocial factors I'm looking for, and also to fix another problem that's been identified, in that some tests too often cause J and T to be lumped together.

The factors are more in the style of Big Five, except that I have 6.

Here there are in order (I chose the word SOLACE to represent them, but that's because it was one of few words that I could form with predominantly positive traits to be my acronym)

-Stable vs. Moody
-Organized vs. Unstructured (J/P)
-Logical vs. Feeling (T/F)
-Antisocial* vs. Prosocial
-Conventional vs. Novel (S/N)
-Extroverted vs. Introverted (E/I)

*you could replace "Antisocial" with "Asshole" to better get the idea of what I'm testing for.

I'm tired and need to go do something else, so I don't have much feedback right now.

I'll say that I had a hard time with some of the examples, because I identified in part with two or more of the options and didn't have a clear winner or any item that reflected what I would have answered if it had been a 'fill in the blank' answer.

While some of the pages with checkboxes seemed like the questions still came in pairs, when I had equal feelings or ambivalence sometimes I didn't check either option in the apparent "pair". I only checked items I had a clear feeling about.

Logical 68%
70% and up - You strongly prefer logical arguments, rationality, and objective information. You dislike situations that require you to rely on your emotions
70%-30% - You*prefer to keep an even balance between your thoughts and emotions, and your preference depends on the situation.
30% and below - You tend to feel your way through your decisions by letting your heart guide you. You do not enjoy having to rely on facts alone.

Stable 59%
70% and up - You*are resilient to adversity and emotionally stable. You are more anchored than others in times of uncertainty.
70%-30% - You*have your ups and downs, but for the most part, you are in control of your thoughts and feelings.
30% and below - You*have a hard time dealing with difficult situations. Your reactions to things you find stressful can be seen by others as inappropriate or unpredictable.

Organised 45%
70% and up - You prefer to maintain organization and routine in your life. You are generally systematic and methodical
70%-30% - You*are pretty organized (or wish you were), but you need some variety in your life too.
30% and below - You dislike routine and structure. You like to keep your options open and remain flexible. You are spontaneous and casual in most situations.

Conventional 36%
70% and up - You*value tradition and practical solutions. You are uncomfortable with change, especially when it seems pointless.
70%-30% - You see value in both convention and innovation, but you generally prefer the path of least resistance.
30% and below - You prefer to forge your own path in life, even if it means taking a few risks.

Extraverted 27%
70% and up - You are at your best/most comfortable when you are around other people.
70%-30% - You enjoy the company and/or ideas of others, but also need time to be alone with your thoughts and feelings.
30% and below - You prefer to be alone most of the time, and become uncomfortable when faced with too much outside input.

Anti Social 20%
70% and up - You focus on what is most useful/beneficial for yourself and don't like to waste time and energy on the concerns of others.
70%-30% - You*are ambivalent toward others, and you will generally repay people in kind, good or bad.
30% and below - You will go out of your way to help just about anyone, if they need help.

I can see where the questions had leanings towards 'thinking/feeling', but the test asked which qualities I valued, and I value all of them to some degree. But it is a fun test and could be further practical with a few tweaks.

I should be in the mid range on Anti Social.

I'm stuck on question no 5. I didn't identify with any of the offered options. The other problem I had with these questions is that they were overly specific, painting a specific kind of archetype, I honestly don't think the majority of people taking them will identify with such specific descriptions. In the end I picked the SJ option, because it was the least cringeworthy. :x

So, I like how the results are parsed, and how there is a middle ground. I don't find myself leaning to extremes of MBTI dichotomies a lot these days.

It seems well put together on the whole. Percentage unit precision seems unlikely with 12 questions though (maybe a few more with the acceptable plurality of choice questions at the end). Errors, maybe?

Dichotomy error = +/-(100/(#answers that are indicators for the dichotomy))/2 ?

I could almost always find an alternative that was close to my choosing. The prison question forced me to choose between what seemed like naive approach to criminals vs one that didn't address the problem properly. So I'd choose something in between the naive first choice and the half addressing second one.

The question about kids today didn't match up with what I think either. It would be a balance between the last two answers or so.

The question that asks about how you'd describe your personality tends in any questionnaire to make divides between character traits that forces me to choose something that doesn't accurately represent my personality, I think. It's some of the problem with MBTI trying to separate feeling from logic, for instance (do you put logic or feelings first --> Yes).

I think if I should take descriptions from the options to describe myself it would be something like:
I'm enthusiastic. I seek my true self ("true self"), prize meaningful relationships and dream of attaining wisdom. I'm focused on problem solving and system analysis. I pride traits of ingenuity and independence. I seek knowledge and dream of understanding how the world works. I tend to be task and solution oriented.

(Though phrasings like "attaining wisdom" or "understanding how the world works" aren't concepts I adhere to, but I understand what they represent, so fair enough).

Same as Jenny with the checkboxes. On question 11 I only ticked one box. Though, I guess that's not necessarily a problem. (Except I think you have to check at least one to continue?)

Overall I think this is a very good test. The only real bone I have to pick with this test is the Anti-Social category on which I scored a 0 on. If I was to place myself somewhere percentage wise I would prolly place myself at about 35-45%. The reason I have this qualm is that I am not really nice on a personal level, if that makes sense, but I do however have a heart for people on a macro level. My brother is the exact opposite of me in this regard and he would likely score very different than me on this category. I remember there was a time where he and I were at a stop light and there was an elderly person who was stuck in the snow with their car. I refused to help and my brother got furious with me for not helping this person. It was not convenient for me to help this person so I didn't.

All that said, I think this test has very good predictability when it comes to taking the test multiple times. I think the multiple select question need to not be back and white. there were a couple where I wanted to chose both ends of the spectrum, but chose to choose none of them. I did not have a problem with most of the multiple choice questions and was pleasantly surprised when I say what I would exactly do was one of the options for several of those questions. It was not the case for every one however.

Kind of seems like Big 5 with a Logic/Feeling axis. I think the challenge with all of these tests is to get people's implicit perceptions of themselves by not making it apparent what each question and answer are testing for. I think my results were probably skewed by my current mood and the corresponding self-perception I have at the moment, and because I could tell the variable each option represented. So there were some answers that weren't worded in a way that made me identify with them but I knew the underlying variable was the one I identified with most.

Also the dinner table question was kind of strange. If it was my own table I would probably hack something together with little thought, but if I had to make it for someone I'd be much more considerate. The warming strip thing was bizarre, but I get that that was meant to represent unconventional thinking.

I don't think I should have gotten a 100%. Not that it isn't true that I am very stable and reliable in real life but a 100%?
Logical 45% seems good
The teetering balance of 30% antisocial between being neutral and then concerned with others. Seems true.
Organized being so low is inaccurate but the rest is good.
Granted I am not naturally organized or concerned with such things I just do them because I have learned how important they are . I do do it naturally or without effort when I know it is for the benefit of other peoples emotional needs. On my own it is very difficult to be concerned with cleanliness.

@ Jenny, Minuend, QT, & Absurdity, my checkboxes were listed in obvious dichotomies because thats what order I did them in to make sure all the concepts were covered. I thought I would shuffle them later, but that turned out to be a pay-feature and I was too lazy to rewrite. However, I wanted boths and neithers to be available so people were less likely to be forced into an extreme end of a spectrum.

@ Sinny & QT, I think you're right, I think I may have left moderate people little choice with the antisocial vs. prosocial, forcing more prosocial results.

@ Fukyo & Minuend, I was worried about that. Part, again came down to laziness. Then multiple choice questions were only allowed 4 options, and so I chose to do combinations of two factors with each question. Sometimes, I got tired of writing, and I think that laziness shows in the achetypes. I need to work on subtlety and I just realized glancing through again that there are some glaring cultural biases. As a side note, I think #5 was the one I adapted from the 4 humors to test convention vs. novelty and logic vs. feeling. In retrospect, that was a bad idea.

@The Grey Man & Grayman, I actually was wondering that myself when testing it out. I tried to fix it, because I really don't want to see any 0s or 100s. But I'm wondering if the app is doing something I'm not accounting for.

@ everyone, looks like #5 def. needs work, and the checkboxes need to be less obvious. The prison and kids ones werent working for Minuend and the table one wasn't working for Absurdity... Any more specifics about which of the example questions were most and least relatable?

My complaint is that the choices were way too descriptive and specific
In most questions I ended up choosing options I don't really relate with just because they are less irrelevant than the others

And, like Jenny, i left most of the pairs unchecked because I felt ambivalent or neutral towards the choices

I got 68% stable and very low percentages on everything else

FWIW, I don't think that you should totally scrap the anti-social category. It is a good premise though the dichotomy might need some work.

Together they would be

LSOAC

I think the antisocial being low is still odd because it's low but not prosocial.
I think I have a phobia of stupid people yelling at me. :ahh:
Abusiveness is stupid. Stupidity is stupid.
I don't know many nice people.
Say something and all of a sudden you stepped on something important.
People don't listen and assume allot.

Also I guess the letters in Yellows test make me an ESTJ. :tinykitball:

Couple of typos I noticed - was kicking myself as soon as I noticed one, knowing I hadn't been on the lookout and had probably missed others.
Question 8, 3rd option:
"I don't have a change" - I don't have a chance
Question 11, 4th from the bottom:
"I have ave good control" - I have good control (?)

Thoughts:
I had the same problem as Minuend. Almost none of the questions' options represented the way I think. Anyone with more intense feelings or an interest in human potential and relationships seemed to be presented as a thoughtless, naive muppet. Being task-oriented, analytical, interested in systems etc can all be applied to someone who is primarily interested in studying people and doesn't consider each individual 'unique'. However, since you've got such a large middle ground it looks like it might not matter that much which people choose as long as it's not consistently in the same category. So perhaps it's accurate in that there are fewer 'wrong' results, but it's also a less refined testing instrument?

I got an extremely low stability score which was discombobulating (yeah! *fistpump*) but that's probably circumstantial. I think I would've tested as highly stable and resilient in earlier years but that has eroded over time. I was also very neutral with low reactivity despite a turbulent environment for many years, but this has also eroded over time. I'm not sure if time has revealed my true fragility or if I was just in the mid-range to start with and resilience can genuinely erode. (Perhaps we should also test for resilience of resilience.) This was an interesting result to see.

I've thought a fair bit on how the traits measured in the MBTI can be teased out, especially the ones which overlap dichotomies. I will post more thoughts at some point.

And of course, I'm going to take the test again! :p

I also really like the idea of the scoring being from low to high; it almost gives it a strengths finder type quality to it.

I see the spelling errors have already been pointed out :P

I didn't like a few things. Seemed whatever you were going for with the SP equivalent missed why SP's do things or was simplistic.

The options also felt restrictive and are too connected in politics/what people know the reasonable answer "should be" to be accurate.

Also I completely agree with cheeses first paragraph in thoughts. You can get the same result for different reasons 3+4 and 9-2 still equals 7. (I hope... I'm not great at maths <_<) People are the ultimate system to analyze and anyone who goes to coding for systems is obviously an Si Te type who likes simplicity.

Dammit, I kept forgetting to proof-read again. I caught these additional ones though:

"Which of the following best fit your mood on a given day." - should be "fits" (I think), should be question mark
"I tend to be task and solution oriented. .... I prefer take tried and true" - I prefer [to] take tried and true
"Honestly, I'd probably just pretend nothing happened and ignored most of the mess" - ignore
"I think that almost everything can be analyzed" - missing full-stop.

Stability is now my strongest trait! This was very surprising. I tried to include a longer view of my history rather than recent periods. I only changed 2 or 3 things though.

Antisocial vs prosocial is the only other one which flipped categories (from mid-range to low-range). Stability flipped from low-range to high-range.

Further thoughts:
Some answers of mine were more stable than I thought, as when I re-read there were clearly no other answers which fit me as well.

However, I found I had further problems in other categories, like conventional vs innovative, or extraverted vs introverted. There wasn't enough nuance in most of the questions, so people could be flying blind and getting false positives. Like I said earlier, the 31-69% range seems to catch a fair bit of that, but that might not be a good thing.

The wording of the questions also seems to reflect certain personality styles, making it harder for people who share the traits but lack the personality/attitude to identify themselves in it. But perhaps you were testing for the personality/attitude anyway, I'm not sure.

I think it's a good first draft though, and having so much in the mid-range is probably a pretty accurate reflection of most people.

I especially liked the 'path of least resistance' wording, in the mid-range for Conventional vs Innovative. I think that captures most people's attitudes/apathy pretty well - which is what you'd expect if they didn't have clearly differentiated or extreme traits.

Can we change the table question to... rockets or something. Who doesn't like building model rockets! Plus I think I want my table to have three legs like my rocket would. Its more stable which goes along with my 100% stability thing.

IDK, the table thing really did bother me for some reason. I don't want to build a table. I picked the easiest route instead of the most creative because well I am just not into the whole table thing. I suppose a table with a touch screen surface would be cool because then I could look up on how to build neat rockets while I am eating my food on my fancy table. Maybe I'll make a really large tablet and put legs on it. :)

That would be a good compromise.

Selection D (Develop a large tablet and put 'three' legs on it)

Logical: 50%

Antisocial: 25%

Many examples didn't offer clear choices I could identify with.
In the first question, I'd hate every minute of working on a table and I'd consider it boring, so I'd look up a reliable method of constructing one, but if I were to design a circuit board or a parachute I'd probably spend a lot of time innovating and learning about the respective topics. Some things are immersive, some aren't.

I think it would be useful to order (highest confidence to lowest) each answer (or even each option of each question) based on how strongly we identify with them and I'd like to see more options covered.

I liked the multi-choice part, I sometimes picked "opposite" or theoretically exclusive options because I agreed with the importance of both. Assuming that doing so was predicted and properly factored in the final score.

I felt the same way. They were both true for me but seemed like contradictions.

I liked picking all the best answers without those radio buttons.
I think forcing people to to pick is forcing people to choose made up distinctions between various groups when those distinctions may not actually exist.
I really don't know how to word it better...it the difference between big 5 and mbti. One is analog and the other is binary.

the point is that your selection changes depending on your interests, what you are making, and why you are making it, which would give mixed results.

59% Logical
70%-30% - You prefer to keep an even balance between your thoughts and emotions, and your preference depends on the situation.
Sounds about right. I appreciate both, with a slight edge towards logic. Emotions are fine as motivation, but require thinking to work them through. Likewise, logic is useful, but needs emotions to point it where it wants to go.

50% Antisocial
70%-30% - You are ambivalent toward others, and you will generally repay people in kind, good or bad.
More or less correct.

41% Stable
70%-30% - You have your ups and downs, but for the most part, you are in control of your thoughts and feelings.
Gives me slightly more credit than I think I deserve, but still probably within the correct range.

23% Organized
30% and below - You dislike routine and structure. You like to keep your options open and remain flexible. You are spontaneous and casual in most situations.
More or less correct. I don't personally feel disorganized, but that may be because things feel more organized to me when they're in a more hectic environment.

23% Conventional
30% and below - You prefer to forge your own path in life, even if it means taking a few risks.
Roughly correct. Should probably be a tad higher. I appreciate some routines on a smaller day-to-day level and there are times where I often want to stay in my comfort zone, but on a larger scale as far as my life's path I think it nails me.

0% Extraverted
30% and below - You prefer to be alone most of the time, and become uncomfortable when faced with too much outside input.
Really not sure where the 0 came from. I'm pretty sure I answered a few that had "I like people" and whatnot in them.

For the friends/relationships question I had a bit of trouble choosing an answer. There was one answer where the friendships bit was accurate, but the personal relationships section didn't really fit me for any of them. Could do with splitting into two questions and possibly provide more variation in the relationships options.

The best describes your personality was again one that I couldn't put my finger on. I trust my intuition and yearn for romance but also pride myself on my ingenuity and independence. It was kind of a toss-up for me, choosing this one.

None of the crime and punishment answers fully described my thoughts on the subject (mainly because my thoughts are "rapists and murderers don't deserve to draw breath and eh whatever I guess that other stuff is bad too"). I chose "interventions for non-violent crime" but also believe rich people/celebrities should be just as accountable as normal people which in itself seemed like a strange thing to focus on in the context of crime and punishment as a whole.

The last one that kind of split my opinion was the kids today question. I chose the adults don't know what they're doing and kids are self-obsessed, although I know it's completely true that every generation has complained about the one after it and all of them always find their place.

Contrary to what others have said, I really enjoyed the table question. That one and the raccoon one were my personal favorites. I liked the fact that you presented me with scenarios and gave me options that said "I do this because of this reasoning" as opposed to making me say "I think I'm like this." It's easier for me to answer those ones, since my reactions to things are easier for me to know than my specific self-identity which is always changing (and always should, imo). That all said, I would understand totally if people had problems with those if none of the questions properly mirrored their thought process. I even had a small moment of indecision on the raccoon one seeing as my actual reaction would be somewhere between "don't think to take pictures but clean a little" and "don't really put any effort into cleaning until something smells" and "fuck, it shat on my floor!"

All in all it's not that bad of a test. I personally think the format of a universal online test is limiting, in that you can never quite phrase a question in such a way that represents all thought processes or preferences. I think the ideal test would be one that says "here's a scenario. Describe what you do and be sure to provide your reasoning for doing so as in-depth as possible" and then is scored by analyzing the reasoning, seeing as the same actions themselves can often be reached through different lines of thought. Obviously, though, that level of analysis isn't really possible in the scope of an online test.

Does that mean the questions branch by the number of options(4) to the power of the number of questions? 4^12 = 16,777,216 branches?

As someone who voted just build the table because how hard can a table be let me give you my expert advice. Either large tv with legs and computer underneath powering it, or glass table with large tv underneath it and computer powering it. It won't have a touch screen but it's possible now without completely breaking budgets. Also the screen savers would make it very pretty.

i seem to have a lot of 45% but anyhow.I do feel as if some answers were a bit outide of my own thoughtbox but never felt that i was forced to pick an overly extreme in any category.

Also on reading onther results earlier .. we are really not extroverted hehe. But i stil do believe a 0 for that catergory is a bit big.Even if your avereging on mostly intps.
I also believe that other people who mightget 0 their will totally diagree with you and as a result ignore the test completly.

Feel free to poke if you need more mice for your test data ;P.

Sometimes I struggled to choose between what I felt was correct and what I thought was correct (I usually went with the former). That is of course the fault with any test of this type, but the original MBTI test made it slightly easier by always having only 2 alternatives – making it easier to just make a snap-decision based on your intuition.

Good in general, but the acronym should be changed to MUFNIP instead of SOLACE :)

Anyway, some of the questions are hard to answer because of my feelings on certain things. I also think you/we should look for a way to prevent 100s and 0s, because me not being antisocial but not being extraverted at all kind of contradicted. I'm not entirely void of extraversion.

The table one was a bit weird, partially because I could see where it was going. The warming strip thing should be changed to "I would add my own innovation".

Better than any test I could come up with.

Yeah, I got three 0's (out of six scores) on this test. I'm introverted but not living in a shoebox. It made me wonder if something wasn't calculated correctly. I also did not think I picked the most extreme answer in each situation, so it was unclear to me how I could receive a 0. it left me wondering if the test was calculating things correctly or how it was scaled.

(For example, I got a 0% in Antisocial, but the description says I'd help almost anyone if they need help. I'm not sure people would say that about me IRL, I hate being bogged down in someone else's mess, I don't give money to people who ask for it, etc. The one place it's definitely true is that if someone sincerely asks for my advice/thoughts on something, even if I don't like them for some reason, I'll do my best to help them and give them the best information/guidelines I can. The 0% score seems impossibly low.)

Anyway when do we get to learn the Five-Point Palm Exploding Heart Technique? That's why I'm here!

Meanwhile I got the highest antisocial score here (just retook the test and got 55%) and I help people when they ask 100% of the time (including money), and sometimes when they don't.

@Yellow: All the definite 0 and 100 scores, and indeed all definite scores would disappear if you factored observational error in the results. Instead of being expressed in exact percentage units (with nothing in between the possible levels), the results would be expressed in ranges on the 0-1 scale.

Well, I should clarify I meant people I don't know on the street, since I don't know what they will actually use it for. I have actually given larger sums of money to close friends when I know what they need it for, without asking for it to be repaid....but it's admittedly hard for me.

Anyway, yeah, she needs to do some calibration.

Thank you, everyone, for your input.

I will be revamping it to take all of the suggestions into account. Gimme a couple weeks to make a new version.

As far as question styles go, at the moment, I'm limited to 15 questions of either unlimited checkboxes, 4 multiple choice options, scale, or single true-false. So while scales are an option, I can only use 1 scale per question and that will use up my limit quickly. I may also look again to see if there are any other free apps that I can use without having to give out a ridiculous amount of personal information.

As to the meat of the test:

-I think I will keep all the factors, but I need to make it clear in my descriptions that "antisocial" is being used in the Antisocial Personality Disorder sense of the word, and not just your average misanthrope. I will also try to make the antisocial options less extreme.
-I will hold on to the scenario concept, but I will attempt to make the answers and the examples more universally relateable.
-I think I want to keep the checkboxes too, I know the feedback was mixed, but allowing people to choose both or neither is part of the spirit of this survey. However, I will randomize them and make them less obviously dichotomous.
-I will try to make it very difficult to gain a 100% or 0% score.
-Might reduce the middle range slightly to be like 33% to 66% and see what happens.
-I will proof-read it better.

If anyone can think of anything else, please let me know.

Also, I've gotten no complaints about the "train ride" question or the question about crowds. Does that mean they were the most relevant ones? I've only had one complaint about the raccoon one too, was that one close to alright?

Edit: Nevermind, I think I found a way to do multiple scales in one question, which I think will solve a lot of the issues presented. Yay!

Edit Edit: Nope. It just lets me assign lengthy explanations to radio buttons that are supposed to act as a scale... that's no better than the multiple choice...

I think the bus/train ride question covered reasonably various positions and I had no real trouble answering it. Same goes for the crowd question.

(The Crime/Punishment question was one of the ones I had a lot of trouble answering, I didn't quite mesh with any answer and/or I didn't see the answers as exclusive. They were all kind of frustrating in their extremity.)

Did it again. Got some minor changes but less 0% scores.

Stable: 82%
Logical: 50%
Organized: 27%
Antisocial: 20%
Extroverted: 09%
Conventional: 0%

I don't really have a problem with the Conventional score, although handing out 0%'s or 100%'s should be rare -- Openness is typically my high score in the Big Five.

FWIW I didn't really have a problem with the "politicalness" of the questions. Its a good way to get a broad view of what people believe which is a huge part of a persons personality I would wager. I can however see that people who are not exposed to such answers might not understand why those answers are there. Those people who are uneducated might have a hard time figuring out where they stand in those political oriented questions and I think that is a good measurement for them.

hmm. You have a point, but I want this to be useful for a broad range of people. I don't want to alienate people from different cultures and backgrounds if I can help it. I mean, Norway hardly has the same justice system issues as the US, and the "kids these days" one is a little insensitive to any youth and young adults taking the survey.

I could pick a more global issue, like immigration, but then, what about test takers who are immigrants? It's tricky.

I'll keep hunting, but I may have to stick with nonsocial political issues, like global warming. ... hey! maybe I'll try that. We'll see.

Answers and Explanations
Question 1:
I guess this question leaves too much to the imagination? Why am I building the table? Give me a motive. At this moment in time I don't care about tables, so I'd do the bare minimum to meet the requirement, or I'd say no.

If the question assumed I actually wanted to make a table, why? Is it because I personally need a table (I'd again build the bare minimum, then start figuring out how to make one that will meet my table need long term). Is it because I want to express who I am to a test maker? (That would encourage me to put the best foot forward, giving a wildly different and extensive answer, but would likely compromise the validity of the test). Is it a gift for someone? (If I were to give a gift, I'd put effort in).

Essentially my answer varies from refusal to 'this is my new life focus' depending on the context. I think most of the time the second option (sticking with the basics) would be my approach, but only because I'm disengaged.

Question 2:
Option 4 easy (book/music)

Question 3:
Option 4 easy (mood internally derived). Option 3 is also applicable, but I've made headway on that front and am now a lot more aware. If you'd have asked me five years ago I'd have said option 3.

Question 4:
Seems like you're asking two different questions here. I can't honestly identify with any single option. Option 4 represents my current approach the best.

Question 5:
Probably a mix of options 1 and 3, though parts of all of them are applicable. Minuend's custom option would be closer to my answer than anything you've listed. When forced to break the tie between them, I probably go with 3 (rational) over 1 (feelsery), but that's pretty obviously based on a sense of identity derived from existent personality testing.

Question 6:
I'm not really opposed to any of those options :P

Option 4 sticks out as pretty ruthless, but at times I'd fit into that category too. Option 1 is a little to personal for my way of thinking, and option 3 seems a little shallow. Option 2 is likely the best fit, but even then, it's entirely reactive. I want to designs systems that prevent crime by preventing criminals. Prevention is better than cure.

Question 7:
Option 3 (clean up nasty shit, have a laugh, wouldn't take pictures unless something was interesting, leave rest until I'm not bone tired)

Question 8:
I fit into all of these at one point or another. Option 2 describes me the best right now, but... I'm also a shut-in who doesn't really leave the house unless he needs to. I guess I avoid those situations, but can enjoy them immensely when I'm in the right mood when they happen to strike? I'll take option 3 as a compromise.

Question 9:
A mix of 3 and 4. Option 3 has my perspective on society, but is too limited in its focus. Option 4 takes the long view as I would, but is too optimistic. My view is essentially that society is, has, and always will be fucked, but it's nothing to do with the children of today. It's the transitional period where children are influenced by previous models whereby the state of an utterly fucked society is perpetuated despite cosmetic differences. The adults aren't to blame, as they are just children+years, but they're the only ones willing to both claim that they're responsible, while also demanding someone be held responsible, so fuck those guys. (took option 3)

Results:
Based on your answers, you can see your score below

59%Logical: 70%-30% - You prefer to keep an even balance between your thoughts and emotions, and your preference depends on the situation.

55%Antisocial: 70%-30% - You are ambivalent toward others, and you will generally repay people in kind, good or bad.

45%Stable: 70%-30% - You have your ups and downs, but for the most part, you are in control of your thoughts and feelings.

32%Organized: 70%-30% - You are pretty organized (or wish you were), but you need some variety in your life too.

5%Conventional: 30% and below - You prefer to forge your own path in life, even if it means taking a few risks.

0%Extroverted: 30% and below - You prefer to be alone most of the time, and become uncomfortable when faced with too much outside input.

My thoughts:
I would have expected higher scores on pretty much everything but stability (which varies wildly between extensive periods of intense stability and pockets of polar instability :P:P:P) and antisiocialness (which is going down with age).

Extroversion 0%: I'm pretty introverted in my choices, but when push comes to shove, I function fairly well as a mid-level extrovert. I even proactively keep in touch with people just to keep that friendship going, even if I don't want to see them. There's no denying that the side of the scale is right, but my behaviour is too variable to be accurately captured by such a polar result of 0%.

Conventionality 5%: I'm pretty unconventional, but I think 5% is too polar again. Also, I'm increasing in my adherence to convention over time. If I'm at 5% now I would have been well into the negative a decade ago, and even then I would say 5% is probably an exaggeration.

Organised 32%: I've got a very organised mind, top quartile no doubt. I'm not very organised in my behaviour, though that's been changing drastically of late. I don't really know how to interpret it, but thought it worth mentioning it.

Logical 59%: I guess I don't really know how this is graded, but the entire area is wishy washy. On most scales I rate a lot higher than this, so I'm not sure whether it's a flaw in the test or to its credit. In some areas, there is no logical way to structure your behaviour but to have your logic in service to your feels. Your feels are in turn altered by your belief, which is shaped by logic. It's all a bit of a clusterfuck tbh. Asking where someone falls on the rationality spectrum often feels like trying to find the corner of a circle.

Comparing actual scores to where I'd place people intuitively... I'm one of the less logical here according to your test. That's cool I guess, though not an answer I'd expect (sick burns I know). I demand you change your test so that I fall into the top tier of logical thought .

As for the descriptors you've paired to scores, you describe me as:
70%-30% - You prefer to keep an even balance between your thoughts and emotions, and your preference depends on the situation. True sort of, but there's definitely an unequal balance. It's more akin to the government (thinks) handing out financial relief (limited control) to the homeless (feels) than it is to two equal sides. The feels get nary a thought unless the thinks feel like it

70%-30% - You are ambivalent toward others, and you will generally repay people in kind, good or bad. I'm not that self focused, but I do feel pressure to get my own shit in order before I attend to other people. I wouldn't say I'm selfish or ambivalent, it just doesn't seem reasonable to expect anyone to consider the needs of others over their own. It's not as if I've got much to give. So mostly true.

70%-30% - You have your ups and downs, but for the most part, you are in control of your thoughts and feelings. False. My thoughts and feelings are proportionally more stable than not, but at no point do I feel like I've got much control over them. It feels like a roll of the dice, but I only need to not roll a one.

70%-30% - You are pretty organized (or wish you were), but you need some variety in your life too. True. I'd elaborate and split hairs but it's basically true.

30% and below - You prefer to forge your own path in life, even if it means taking a few risks. Yeah true. The path I've chosen has changed more times than I can count, and the current one points more towards convention, but accurate overall.

30% and below - You prefer to be alone most of the time, and become uncomfortable when faced with too much outside input. Yeah true, though probably not as true for me as others here that scored higher.

Methodology:
I guess I take issue with the method and how you establish validity. AFAIK you're literally guessing what the numbers mean, then tuning it based on feedback from us.
I see the problem with these tests as a whole to be that they're built on the shoulders of phantasmal titans, and this test doesn't leave that mold behind. I know you're doing it for fun or...
NVM just glanced at your explanation in your proclamation thread. It looks like you've put in more thought than any criticism I could provide would have without me putting in some hours. I might get back to you later, but for now you're off the hook :D

It's all intended as feedback. I trust you to interpret it with the spirit of its critical intention, even if I come across as cockfaced

^The questions change order each time you take it. I realised this the second time around.

Everyone, if you want to talk about specific questions, you have to say what the question's about, cos a number won't do it.

Stable 86%
You are resilient to adversity and emotionally stable. You are more anchored than others in times of uncertainty.

Antisocial 75%
You focus on what is most useful/beneficial for yourself and don't like to waste time and energy on the concerns of others.

Organized 14%
You dislike routine and structure. You like to keep your options open and remain flexible. You are spontaneous and casual in most situations.

Conventional 9%
You prefer to forge your own path in life, even if it means taking a few risks.

Extroverted 0%
You prefer to be alone most of the time, and become uncomfortable when faced with too much outside input.

I think everything fits. Questions were easy to understand and only 2-3 times I had to think more which option should I choose. Pretty good test, 10/10 :'))

Feedback
My Reaction to table question - I didn't want to pick the answers with an idea already put in place. How do I know if that's the change I would want to make to it?
Feedback for question to table - I think perhaps, giving them the option to choose their own ideas they want to apply, instead of making it specific.

Everything else was peachy.

I think its good considering the small amount of questions.
My Advice:
More Answers to each question
More Questions
Less General Questions

But most of all I think a little more research could be done. Maybe you could try creating your own set of personality types like you already are by integrating the different already existing systems. But it was more accurate than most of the random personality tests that are on the internet. Considering you are probably an INTP, you could create an amazing test with some more facts.

Anyways:

82% Logical
68% Extroverted
59% Stable
45% Antisocial
9% Conventional
9% Organized

This is coming from a 14 year old ENTP :)

Some critique. I really disliked the questions and options for:
Dining table
Problems with them darn whippersnappers
Crowd and social gatherings

Table: needed an option for design and build yourself. As soon as I read, "infinite resources" I immediately thought, "oooh I could make my own!" but there was no option for that.

Kids these days: My point of view isn't even remotely compatible with any provided options.

Crowds: The options got more specific about things than necessary, which made all of the choices equally redundant for me as they're all somewhat applicable.

Overall: I think there's a fair chunk of wording in the questions and answers that have drawn from your own personal experiences, ideas and views. The language often becomes a projection of your own internal musings as opposed to a general descriptor that would allow for distinguishing personality traits.

To be expected in a rough draft though so i haven't gone into too great detail over it and I greatly look forward to seeing later revisions. Awesome stuff Yellow :)

Oh yeah and I forgot exactly why but the prison question rustled my jimmies too.
