Title says it all. Is this normal? Recently i've been paying close attention to things I say and how people react. I find that if I spot someone who purposely appears to be what they aren't I will let it be known that I know they are FOS. It's like a game to me. Usually they avoid me but now this has happened in the workplace where they can't avoid me. This makes them RAGE. HARD. It makes me want to grin and say "lol" aloud every time I see people like this.

Never. LOL. I say it in a subtle way. I'm obviously not getting in their face about it. I don't think I would ever do that.

I guess that's part the of game for me. Anyone can say a person is FOS but it almost always ends up in some sort of confrontation.

I look at it like : So...how much/how subtle can I be before it dawns on this moron that I know? hahaha

Like I plant/leak little stuff and so the person's own mind comes up with this paranoid idea that I know. Basically it makes him second guess himself whether I know or I don't know. Lol idk about you but I think that's funnier than the actual fact that I know.

Eventually the person finally figures things out because I keep pushing it, giving him a panicked, almost deer in the headlights look. And finally they avoid me.

They probably "rage hard" because you're
being an inconsiderate asshole, maybe.

How isn't that funny? and are you actually defending the people that lie, cheat and con there way through life for personal gain? Haven't you thought about it this way INTP? I'm not doing this over everyday stupid illogical shit people do/say.

You cannot know what someone purposely
does or does not do as you are not them.
You are merely convincing yourself that they
fit into this box you want them to.

How isn't that funny?
Purposefully baiting others and tearing them
apart is not funny. It's pathetic behaviour often
displayed due to fear.

How many people lie, cheat and con that you know? I would do more than subtly annoy them if that was the case, I would put their arse in jail.Or at least expose them.

Isn't it possible to do all three without being an asshole?

I lie to reassure, I cheat because I know others would win less gracefully and use their gains for ill, and I con because...

Well because it's fun...

I now hand you over to Cognisant:

Wait, what? If I see someone on a daily basis, and I observe what they do/don't do over a long period of time, you're saying I still don't know? Odds are I do. Get your head around that one

I only read your o.p. I didn't
realize the post in the middle
was yours. I thought you
were implying that you did this
to everyone you encountered
that ever seemed a little contradictory.

I obviously realize that isn't
the case now.

unfortunately quite a few. I think you'd be surprised how many normal people do though. Expose them for what? It's not life threatening and from what i've seen so far in my two years, nothing will be done about it. It's just my way of letting them know...

Phony people go

RageGuy.jpg
full-panel-rage.png

But I've got agree with Bird on this. I don't see the need to do this. Fake/phony people are people that still have a lot to learn in life. They believe that their ways are right, but guess what? They're never going to experience people as we are.

I'd rather bring the best out of good people than expose the worst out of the bad people.

I've ever seen on INTPf.

Guess you need to read more widely then feeler.:P

Things are infinitely more intriguing than people.

If it's not life threatening or upsetting anyone, I agree with little Bird.

I understand the definition of fake/phony a little differently.

In my point of view, fake people aren't necessarily ones that lie or cheat, but just are plain fake. Like, they say things that they don't really mean, try to be as important as they socially can (these are the people that try super hard to be elected for class president), refer to books that they haven't even really read, and try to come off as intellectual as they can by sacrificing their lives to get A's in school.

These are the kind of people I have to deal with on a daily basis due to the academic upthrust I've been on over the last few months, and they do irritate me substantially. I don't really torment them in any way, but I have a tendency to challenge them verbally to the point where they can't figure out anything proprietary to say and are left with the acknowledgement of just how phony they are. I enjoy these little victories.

A parallel dimension of a thinker's creation
Why should they care if you "know their little secret" or whatever? Most people are fake because they're insecure, and by letting them know, that makes them think that other people know and makes them more insecure. They can turn into really nasty people then.

Just leave people like that alone. It's a phase, and they'll get over it. This is a matter of immaturity in all parties.

Are you sure you're INTP? You might be one of the more social ones, like ESFP. They'd probably understand this better than we would.
Try this description: http://typelogic.com/esfp.html
There's an ESFP forum, too.

lol@ "you might be an ESFP!" On that note I feel like ESFPs get a bad rap for being overly-social and irrational, but it's worth noting that they're our dual pair, and while that seems highly suspicious and impossible you'd be surprised by what happens in INTP/ESFP relationships hah

Anyways, toying with people and making them rage really hard probably isn't an awesome idea. Let's take a look at our trusty type descriptions. Most MBTI descriptions don't delve into this much (although they bring up issues like self-aggrandizement), so I'll look to socionics descriptions:

INTPs' reactions to the sphere of emotions can vary greatly, but they are particularly apparent in the sphere of social relations. INTPs are typically not social creatures. Some do not understand the importance of social connections and choose to ignore the area of emotional involvement with others altogether, instead delving into virtual reality, mystical introspection, or private study. Others trudge through the social landscape without truly understanding the art of socialization, ignoring politeness and not caring about offending others. INTPs may view people people who constantly try to make others happy as foolishly involving themselves in a completely pointless exercise.

Next one!

Many less actualized INTPs hold a far more vindictive attitude. This occurs, among other scenarios, when INTPs are depressed about people, especially when INTPs are suffering from a lack of F support from others. In these scenarios the INTP can aggressively attack people's intelligence, ideas, or character rather unrelentlessly. Even so, such actions may precipitate conflict which the INTP is liable to find highly tiresome and frustrating -- blurring the INTP's mental image of the facts and making him feel as though his work is unfinished. Such people who have been 'blacklisted' are often in the INTP's eyes very deserving of this role, but the INTP may find that other people do not agree and faces the choice of either withdrawing in order to avoid interacting with the object of derision, or else continuing to interact, thus perpetuating the process and compounding the INTP's frustration. Such judgments may be very difficult to extract from the INTP; such a process requires a copious amount of often thankless moral support and truth; SEEs are the only persons well-equipped for this task, and may in their occasional naivete of others' motivations benefit from the INTP's harsh stances. Typically, however, if the INTP is engaged with people with whom he feels very close and who accept his observations, explanations, and expositions (his mental image of the facts, as it were), he sees little need to interact with individuals that would inspire his aggression.

This one more or less hits on what you're talking about. I ctrl F'd out the socionics type and replaced it with INTP, but you'll notice an "SEE" in there left over. This is actually an ESFP, that little regarded and under-valued social type :P

You should have left it ILI or at least INTp. Claiming 100% correspondence is seen as controversial.

I gave up on this kind of stuff because it takes so damn much effort. I'm an introvert dammit I only have a 30min charge for this kind of thing! I realized that doing that does three things to me:

1) Mentally, emotionally drains me
2) Accomplishes nothing
3) Makes me look like a jackass (people are smarter than you claim)

I used to enjoy to ego boost at besting somebody but, again its not worth the cost to me. I figured out that I don't even have to try and people automatically label me as book smart. That's how I want to be seen.

I don't care if people don't understand that I'm socially smart. Why should I broadcast it? I have nothing to gain. The people that take the time to figure it out are the ones who are really worth your time.

Also, I usually perk up when there's an attractive woman in the area. It's times like this that I am glad I know what I'm doing.

haha I probably would have if I saw your post in the thread I created sooner :P

However, I think it's fair to say that this type description is more or less spot on for INTPs as well, at least for the purposes of responding to this thread.
