Wait until you're slightly tired. Smoke enough (quality) weed to be really stoned. Wait for it to kick in, you'll feel the huge urge to lay down. Do so, make sure you're comfortable and get rid of disturbances (light, music, whatever bothers you...)

Close your eyes, let your thoughts flow, you'll wake up from a deep sleep with your head feeling somewhat frisky but well rested. Goodnight & goodmorning.

It's best to not use artificial lightning of any kind. Just let your body and mind fall into the well proven rhythms of nature. But easier said then done, as humans are phototaxi, we are the same as moths. So old fashion will power will have to be applied.

For YEARS, I was an insomniac.

But here it is 8:20 in the am and I'm wide awake brewing my coffee after falling asleep around midnight.
I really don't know how I broke myself of my insomnia, other than having a desire to and making a conscious effort to do so.

I also avoid using the PC right before going to bed.

I've never really had much trouble sleeping though, I'm pretty flexible. I can go to bed at 8pm or 8am without much hassle.

I have also used Valerian Root and it does create a good nights sleep. Not to mention it is non habit forming and can be grown in the yard. Hummingbirds like the flowers.

I seem to get the opposite effect than desired from melatonin tho.

when I am tired, I need to go to bed right away, otherwise insomnia strikes. It gets a lot more inconsistent when I'm working on a project, recently I've been waking up after 4 to 5 hours, tops.

my fucking sleep schedule blows. its CONSISTENTLY bad. like i know on mondays ill get 4 hours. tuesdays around 3, wed is a catchup get around 7, thursday 5 hours, friday 4 hours, saturday 8 hours, 4 hours if im out drinking. sundays into mondays i catch that uber deep sleep, and grab the best 10 hours of the week.
