How good are you at getting back to people?

How good are you at getting back (replying) to people? This includes text messages, phone calls etc.

I find it very hard to reply to my text messages, I've even taken a whole month before replying to one. I usually won't reply for a few days, then feel guilty for not replying and avoid it. I think misconstrue what my motive is behind not replying - It's not really sinister, is it?

I think I have a hard time communicating with a lot of people because I can't relate or don't know how to carry on a long conversation. I've developed such strange interests It's hard not to alienate myself. Maybe this is just an INTP pariah thing.

Holy Shit!

You've just reminded me. I got a phone call from a distant friend whilst I was out one day and my parents said I would get back to him.

That was last June!

I was that way once. Nothing against you guys, but it hurts to see other people who haven't overcome it yet.

I'm great about it now. I might be a little slower than most when replying to texts, but only because I pay such close attention to wording everything perfectly and making sure my thoughts are clearly expressed.

(shown by the fact that I rewrote this post three times and am still not happy with it :()

I am always quick to respond if it's a pretty girl. If it is someone else I could care less :P

I'm with WorkInProgress - I try to reply as soon as I notice a text but usually spend half an hour (re)writing a double length one. People gave up calling me as they got bored and called back before I returned their call... I'd be better now but don't mind text communication as it's usually to arrange a meeting and it's far easier to tell when someone got the wrong end of the stick face to face than over a phone!

Lost in my thoughts
Terrible. I really, really, hate getting back to people with emails - I keep putting it off (usually trying to avoid telling them something), and it keeps getting worse and worse as I put it off more and more...I know I shouldn't do it, but it ends up happening anyways (and that's when I do check my email).

Same, I'm usually very prompt!
(Unless someone texts asking me a stupid question, then I refuse to reply i.e. a friend asked me something she could have easily looked up within 5 minutes, so I ignored her, grrrrr)

Right over there..
Awful. Especially calls. I hate calling back and dread all the small talk that has to be made. I put them off till I start feeling guilty about it. Texts are a little better I suppose. Though I don't reply immediately but in a day or two.

Another thing - I'm quite amazed at how some people eat and sleep with their phones. I'm the exact opposite. Most of the times my phone is lying around somewhere under a pillow or something and I don't hear it ring.

I've had my current phone about 18 months and it's never rang. It's constantly on vibrate so if I'm in the mood to take calls it will be in my pocket else it's on my pillow (to muffle the vibrations) and sits ignored... My sister is one of those who's phone never leaves her side - if she gets a text about something happening in a week's time it must be answered within a minute even if she's eating. Madness!

I have a nagging feeling there's something I've forgotten to answer right now.
I can't seem to remember it though, and the more I try to remember, the more important I imagine it must have been.

Usually I'm quite good though. With some cases of extreme forgetfulness.

Since I'm very aware of how people might perceive me blowing them off, I get pretty neurotic about returning messages. I try to do it as soon as I can.

But what happens nowadays, with too many people to contact, I end up not getting to it while still remaining very aware I haven't, and just feel guilty instead... and even less prone to wanting to do it. Meh.

I'm pretty good with texts and phone calls--I'll get back as soon as I notice them. Mostly it is because I can't stand it when someone waits for days to respond to a text or a phone call. If I'm calling or texting you I have a reason (aside from just chatting), and it really isn't going to take too much of an effort on your part to text back a yes or no. I don't expect a quick turn around on e-mails unless they are business/school oriented.

I know the behavior patterns of my friends well enough to judge who is probably oblivious to these things (fine, I'll try again in a few weeks), and those who look at their phone and think "I don't feel like it right now." (this is infuriating).

I'm realy terrible at replying to people.
I tend to text a lot and i have like ten respones I'll use usually:
"Uh huh" "Nice" "Idk" "Ah/Oh" "That's nice" "Oh poo" etc
It annoys people.
I just never know what to say.
I' usually reply within an hour, but the only time it takes me a long time is if what I'm talking about is a big deal and I'm too scared/nervous to send the message.
