You always run the risk that the meaning won't transfer from culture to culture. I have a friend from Korea who says that my first name sounds similar to the word for "dogshit" or something like that. I went to school with a vietnamese guy named "Phuc" (pronounced "fuck" of course). Hard to live that one down.

I say, if we can't all decide on a common language, the least we can do is decide on common swear words. As long as you have the swear words down everything else comes natural.
