I'm 33 years old. I am a widow. I have two sons (10 & 11).

Well, I searched google images for INTP and laughed my ass off for a while at a bunch of hilarious stuff. So, I thought, why not join the forum and maybe get to communicate with some people who can understand me on my level - rather than just always feeling lonelier for trying to talk (which, I'm mostly baited into doing).

You have been a mother for 11 years, how long have you been a widow for? How long have you been 33 for?

Sure. We just got a new game for Christmas called Settlers of Catan. My son wanted it. It's pretty neat.

What is the unemployment rate in your region, I don't live in the U.S. If that is unimportant then what are your plans or prospects on the future? Do you plan to develop some abilities or skills, maybe you already do?

Welcome and may you find what you have come for, restricting negative experience to yourself, unless otherwise allowed.

What about her kids? Job is great and all but kids are worth so much more since they can produce so much more labor in the future and all.

I don't know what is her personal perspective and that is why I asked. For me having kids, I would prioritise their development first, then mine own. That is probably why I respect people who can support their children and why I find that I wouldn't be capable of this sacrifice as I am now.
Besides creating individuals that would struggle with the same problems as I am now would only make the problem greater.

I wasn't talking about a job :). I wouldn't ask about her job as I find it besides income as an unimportant thing if it cannot contribute to your development and just money as a topic are not even worth mentioning. I was asking what she does to broaden her knowledge, her skills, her mind and body. Examples could be; writing prose, poetry, music, hiking, studying, and so on.

Or raising kids.

Just saying... Seemed like she provided what was most important to her as it was the first thing she mentioned and then again when asked about board games. No one seemed to notice the obviousness of what she values and that targeting that topic might be a wonderful way of discovering who she really is at least to start off with. Don't mind me though I am just being overly critical. I'm an INTP. At least you asked her something. Here I am debating with you instead of asking her.....

So how about it, prorecluse? What is the most valuable and most purposeful thing in your life and what are your plans for achieving it?

I can come to understand this as a form of development too.

I was asking if there are things besides what she provided. Obviously there are, you are not a creature to be described by two sentences however hard you try.

It just so happens that I have already connected having children as one of the forms of projecting your development and freedom onto something else, which is more circumstantial and less personal. That's just me tho.

There was a thread like that.
I don't mind if you mention how are your kids developing too.

Seems we have concluded that asking is the point of this introduction thread ^. Feel free to add what you find convenient to include here.

33 is a cool age, it's such an interesting number.

However it would be much better if you owned three of everything also. Three cars, three cats, three eyes, three boobs...

AHEM.

WELCOME AND ALL THAT!

3?? I thought it was 33, so why not 33 of everything?

Welcome! :)

Thanks for the laughs in all of that.

My children are homeschooled. We travel several times a year. Most recently (November & December), we camped out on Cumberland Island National Seashore and visited the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge. On a separate trip, we drove around Florida visiting St. Augustine, the keys, and (most importantly) camped out in Everglades National Park. While in Florida, my son developed an interest in manatees. So, we also stopped by the Manatee Viewing Area near Tampa.

I've been food gardening for about 11 years. We grow our own tomatoes, green beans, squash, spinach, peppers, pumpkins, etc. We try to add new varieties every year to learn about growing different types of plants and keep things interesting. I have become more interested in starting my entire garden from seed and have been learning about saving different types of seeds for a couple years, now.

I also crochet. However, I mostly start crochet projects and then just unravel them out of boredom with the pattern. LOL When I do finish something, it's usually because I make up a pattern as I go along.

I enjoy photography and am considering entering some of my photographs into a local exhibit at a Nature Center. They begin accepting entries, today. I still haven't decided what to enter. :-\ But, I enjoy photography and processing photos.

I also thought I would start a blog. However, what I most like about that is tinkering with the themes/plugins in Wordpress. I like to play with the code to get things just the way I want them.... and have little interest in actually blogging.

:)
