I always viewed taking personality tests as your mind knowing it's being tested and projecting/altering the answers to get the results desired. I remembered that I had taken an MBTI test a few years ago and decided to take it again and check for consistency. Results were the same so I decided to do some more looking into and found this place here which seems to be loaded with people of a similar fate.

I'm not sure how long I will be on here, hopefully this thing has email notifications. I tend to join forums/discussions, get really involved and then disappear when something new and shiny comes along.

I'm co-opting the questions from the sticky in this forum as I would continue to type until I got bored and posting them here so I have my own space rather than a reply. Oh the ego.

What is your name?
Tony

Where are you from?
Seattle, and residing in the Midwest. I will be up in Minnesota specifically Minneapolis/Duluth this weekend if anyone is interested in meeting a complete stranger they know nothing about from the internet.

How old are you?
23

What's your gender?
Male

How did you find out that you were INTP, or other type?
Multiple tests over time.

How did you find out about this forum?
A link on another site.

Do you have a partner/lover?
I've had many lovers and few partners. Currently nothing serious.

Do you have any kids?
No.

Do you have any pets?
I get pets when I get bored and that usually lasts a couple of months. The last pet I had I bought last May, it was a snake. I sold it in July.

Which hobbies absorb you the most?
Travel, music, and females.

How do you generate an income?
However Kramer in Seinfeld got money, that's how I get it. I have no idea how I have money but whenever I need it I seem to come up with it.

Hardest thing about being INTP?It's difficult with females in serious relationships. It's great for short term intense relations but beyond that it's hard for them to understand why you are the way you are and do the things you do. The other thing would be finishing projects. I love working on projects, I always have multiple projects going on. That's the only fun part, finishing it is no fun.

Aside from all the above, I'm trying to find out if I'm a sociopath. Of course I'm not going to go in and get evaluated as one as that would be on my record. I find that, as a lot of INTP's do, I engage in discussion to help myself arrive at answers to my own question rather than empathizing/sympathizing with what someone else has to say. Maybe that's why I'm here? Maybe I want to feel understood? I suppose time will tell.

What did it mean or what was the point? I thought the meaning was fairly straightforward. The point was admittedly excluded.

(psssttt... it was a joke... you said maybe you wanted to be understood....)

*sighs*

OK Mr. Serious, I've always wondered what on earth possesses folk to put up an avatar of their real selves... answer me this...

what is the point of a real avatar?

I always find it refreshing to put a face to a name so to speak and as such I typically do the same for others.

I find myself asking the same question about avatars not of oneself. Those are interesting and far more telling than a mere image of oneself. I'm not interested in projecting or sugar coating my posts, merely putting a face to a name.

I seem to have lost my humor when I registered here. I hope I can find it.

Oh... *nods*

I firmly like my fantasy world. I want to see a person's mind - their 'overbeing'; their avatar...

But you go ahead and display your corporeal facade. I'll just avert my eyes and try to imagine your avatar for myself...

*nods solemnly and munches pink unicorn*

edit: hey Cog you screwball! To be clear. MODS ARE HUMANS TOO. We are merely pressed upon by fate to act contrary to our being and tell screwballs like Cog that they're OUT OF LINE! *smiles angelically and bats her long lashes at Cognisant*

Speaking for myself, I can only handle these concurrent personalities in small doses. It will take some getting used to I think. On that note, I'm out.

As you can see, I've been pushing her buttons for a while.

Woah, I just moved to Duluth. However, I'm not really interested in meeting a complete stranger.. I'm all shy and shit. What brings you to the area?

I might be moving to Seattle for a job. I'd definitely be interested in friend-networking... I'm going to be so lonely up there!

Flow - I travel a lot and hadn't been to Duluth in about 5 years. I really enjoy going up there. Unfortunately didn't have time to go up in the Iron Range and do some other things.

Reverse - I have a few contacts depending on exactly where you're at up there. Some are artists, some are in school, others work on farms, some sit at home and play WOW.

Adymus - That's nice.
