To answer any questions, to find any information, to learn how to present ideas/to write, with your english, with your mental stability/health, or anything else?

I'll post about how it's helped me later

It's helped me identify my strengths, make sense of my past in a more objective/detached way and get more clear on the direction I want to take going forward. And also get validation that my way of seeing things and what i want out of life is valid even if it's a bit different...which in turn has improved my mental health (less asking myself "what's wrong with me?")

It helped me to change my nutrition(I became healthier), try out many things and choose subject to study(I did) and get some wisdom from people smarter than me. :)

(less asking myself "what's wrong with me?")

r4ch3l said it for me.

Now whenever something I do or say makes other people treat me like I'm a five-legged, talking Elephiroscerousat, I wonder to myself what INTPf would think instead of just feeling like a neurotic. I still slink back into a hole to understand what happened, but now I can call other tunnel-minions (you guys) to join in on the palaver.

Thanks INTPf!

Besides like minded friendly companionship it's helped develop some theories. Unfortunately there's a lot more I'd like to learn, but polls and questions don't easily elicit the information I'm looking for.

no i usually don't put in the work to ensure communication. i only write and post what seems correct or relevant to me. usually i don't get into discussions... feels like i'm always both above and below the overall level. egotistical venting. occasional exchange.

it's good fun though, trying to imagine what kind of impression i'm making. most of you have made pretty solid impressions on me.

YES!
This forum has helped me understand the theory behind myers briggs a lot. That's mostly why I started coming here.

It's provided a vast amount of entertainment.

It's helped me walk through my suicidal phase, and get past many negative thoughts.

It's shown me I have a lot to learn and I'm really just a small fish in a big pond.

It's helped me to understand my quarter life crisis. See that I'm not alone.

This forum has definitely changed the way I think. Feel I can relax more. That could also be that I've picked up smoking since I started coming here, too.:smoker: (So smooth. So rugged. So sexy. Such a rebel. :storks: )

I've made a couple of friends through the forum, so it has served as a medium for that.

Beyond that, the variety of people on this forum and the extent to which they're willing to share their thoughts, emotions and experiences give insight into the concept of the human condition.

There are some truly unique and/or beautiful insights that have been shared on this forum, and while I can't quite describe if or how they've, 'helped' me, regardless I've been intrigued by them.

Has this forum helped me? I find this Q almost impossible to answer. Of course it's helped me. But it hasn't ended. It's always a challenge. As try as I might to express something well and succeed sometimes, I can't keep it up. There is always something to learn from others who can do it better. And the "others" who are here are very good. I love the thinking that goes on here. You guys can think. I have trouble with feelers.

Sorry Coolydudey. I couldn't resist that previous post.

P.S. HELP!

Yeah, it helped me understand some things about myself and other sciency/political ways of thinking. Ironically (because this is partly an MBTI discussion board), none of the MBTI stuff helped me understand anything with any actual clarity.

One thing I've learned is that people are very diverse to the point that behavioral descriptions don't help me understand people. I suppose the only way for me to better understand people is through experience; ironically though, it's also experience that invalidates the theory; because as my first-hand experience with someone goes up, the accuracy of applying an MBTI type to them goes down in terms of interpersonal usefulness.

The MBTI gave me a framework in which to start thinking about and understanding people, as before that I simply didn't care. The theory itself has made moderate impact, but it's the development of my interest that has helped me out the most.

That's an interesting observation (experience versus MBTI), but how do we extract the truth of it? An answer try. Tell me if this works:

When one looks at a specific experience with another, one experiences a specific cognitive function which blurs into the blurry experience. It's only when one stands back and asks, what are they like (Si/Ti) that the MBTI appears in the form of intuition (~Ni). IOW, how do they impact me internally and subconsciously?

Rephrase: The MBTI works for an INTP Ne-wise, but not Te/Se-wise.

Help ... this writing needs to be cleaned up.

All of the above

Aside from them I'm also getting the following benefits from the forum:

1) Info about people from the West through interaction with them (in different age groups, genders and belief systems). It's a very narrow slice of the population but hey, it is better than nothing.
2) INTx's to play with :D I like the INFx's here in the site but I have a lot of NF's to interact with IRL.

Yes, hugely. In understanding myself, in gaining confidence, in learning new ideas and for entertainment when I'm bored. Bless you all INTPforum members.
