Greetings fellow personality clones. I would like to introduce myself but first a pre-emptive apology is in order. I have very limited experience with online forums and my few experiences have been largely negative. Getting censured for violating rules I was too lazy to read, making sarcastic comments that didn't go down well in text form, insulting the moderators, I generally pissed everyone off. Therefore, in advance, I apologise for my infractions.I also have a tendency to get bored with the forums and disappear quite quickly, just to warn you before you put too much effort into bringing me in, this may be another brief affair.
I was born and raised in London, England though I have also lived in the USA. My dream is to become an author and I am currently writing a novel as well as having several others planned. I much prefer coming up with the ideas to the actual grind of writing all those words down, but I'll get there.
My other interests include: sports, especially football (soccer) which I love to watch and play and even coach. Most other sports I am much more interested in playing such as tennis, boxing, judo, skiing, sailing, table tennis, swimming, fencing...it's quite a long list. As you can tell from some of those sports, I come from quite a middle class background.
Philosophy, which I studied at university, is a great interest to me. I also love games of strategy such as poker and chess, I became a bit of a poker addict in my late teens and like to think I'm at a semi-professional standard though really I'm probably more of a skilled amateur. My family comes from a financial background so I have always had an interest in politics, economics and finance as a result. I am particularly interested in value investing having read Benjamin Graham's The Intelliget Investor. Things pique my interest at various times and I have yet to dig further into them. Things such as neuroscience, quantum physics, entrepreneurship, again the list probably goes on.
I discovered the MBTI awhile ago online, I have only done self-assessments. I have almost always come up as INTP, though on a couple of tests I got INTJ. INTP seems to be a fairly accurate description of myself though I find it kind of limiting. I have an analytical mind but I do not have the amazing scientific or mathematical capabilities that our kind are supposed to enjoy, though I did like mathematics at school. I had a variety of issues at school, ADD, dyspraxia, I was never a badly behaved child but I also never cared much about what they told me to study. I was on ritalin as a child. Now looking for employment I find the same struggle. I have only done internships and have hated working for someone else to varying degrees. My family is pushing me to become an accountant, which is a sensible career move but would definitely require a return to ritalin. They previously were pushing me to become a teacher. Maybe at a university would be interesting, but I don't want to deal with kids all day. Ideally, I could start a magazine or get work as a dog walker/carer, I love dogs despite being mildly allergic. Anyway, there's my life story, now I'm off to a careers fair to pretend to be interested in accountancy or becoming a salesman.
