It helps when it's not technically your computer that you're using to get online. Thank god for having a father that disappeared and left his computer in his absence. Although, even if it was my own computer, I don't really care if Google is tracking me, so long as no-one else is...

When the many eyes tracking Google are factored in, the issue becomes a bit more complicated. :)

I illegally download music online.. I was researching about some university course... And some problems with my new laptop... and I was looking up munckin cats

I never knew they did this until now. I'm rather shocked. But on google chrome (which I used to use a lot before I knew about firefox 4) has no preferences because I disabled it.

Because my browsing habits are my business only, not of the greedy advertising companies who are pretending to do me a favor by "customizing ads to my needs" so they can bombard me with their flashing banners for junk I will never buy. Nor see, on FF.

It is a violation of privacy, and I do not want a 3rd party writing unsolicited information on MY hard drive, that I

Value of Privacy plus Value of Efficiency. Efficiency is arguable but it relates to the unexplainable(why is privacy valuable?) value of privacy, hence, it is not arguable. Ok.
