I watched 'The Elephant Man' (David Lynch) a little while ago. It depends on what mood you are in but I think it is one of the saddest films I have seen. There were a few scenes that made me so anxious/ confused/ angry.

Thanks guys. I think I'll pass on the "Elephant Man." It sound too sad.

I recently saw "Gifted Hands: the Ben Carson Story." It's not bad.

I watched Super the other day, can't say it was the greatest movie ever, but it did provide a few lulz. I guess I'm more confused as to what "good" entails...worth watching(this is assumed in my case)? entertaining(This for most, but not a necessity in movies I would consider)? a must see(Would definitely put such a movie in here, but not necessary for a movie to be here IMHO)?

Has any one seen any good movies lately?

Maybe you could tell me some movies that you consider good so that I can refine the suggestions.

As is I could give you literally hundreds of noteworthy movies, but they would be tainted by my opinions and such.

Tell me what you like, whether that be through listing some movies/genres/directors/whatever, and I'll get back to you.

I am going to see the elephant man after recommendation on here. I am a huge Lynch fan, so I hope I will not be disappointed. But Lynch have given me so much by other films, that it doesn't matter if it's a flop.

SLC Punk and Requiem for a Dream are worth checking out if you haven't seen them. Also, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.

I swear I was going to mention SLC Punk but decided to opt out.

It's definitely a good movie.

Requiem for a Dream is a depressing story but, is definitely well done.

If you're in the mood for an action movie check out Heat- there is a bad ass gun fight that is too good to miss. Plus the story is decent.

Dumb and Dumber is another good movie. Slippy, slappy, swammy, swanson ... ah samsonite! I knew it started with an S though. I could watch this movie 100x and still not be tired of it.

A clockwork orange--had to analyze this film for my sociology class recently (I love it when assignments play to my strengths). It's good; but defines the phrase fucked up.

last okay movie i saw was The Ghost Writer with ewan mc gregor. the plot involves complicated political stuff that may be appealing to Ti types, but the movie also has a mellow experiential adventurous flow to it, since the protagonist is thrown into a situation that is entirely alien to him and he discovers everything, sort of like a teenage detective in a grown up world.

the worst movie i saw in quite a while was somewhere (2010). how to make a video with actors and all but so it's not really a movie? just skip the plot.

"John Carter", if you like sci-fi & "Atlas Shrugged I & II", great actors/actresses, great story that really hits home.

My favorite movie EVER is Withnail & I. It's hilarious & really sad but some people I have shown it to really hate it. Also a movie that I saw recently that really effected me was My Suicide(it's called something else in America because you're all a bunch of sooks) but again, some people, actually the same person really didn't think it was that special. However that's perhaps not as awesome as if you didn't just finish being a teenager (or are a teenager) idk maybe its just my father in law hates my taste in movies :P.

My brother who is 16 atm, who is in no way academically inclined very rarely connects well too serious movies, loved My Suicide about as much as he loved Shindlers List which btw is also really awesome. I have been instructed to also mention The Princess Bride & Reservoir Dogs by my ever present spouse.
