Traveling!
Just traveling, no destinations, no objectives, no limitations.
I'm traveling around Europe now, just Hitchhiking, sleeping wherever I can, couchsurfing when I can, helping random people, getting help from random people, getting lost and not caring, getting wet, drying off, eating eggsalad.
Today I achieved a lifetime dream of mine - hitchhiking, and when they ask me where I'm going replying "wherever you're going". I got to Salzburg which is a beautiful city, managed to fix my phone, and now I'm sitting in a bar which has free wifi and writing from my phone.

There's literally no better feeling to be felt than the freedom you feel when traveling alone like this. Also because I'm alone so much whenever I do talk to people I'm naturally really extroverted, so I'm always meeting people, more than when I travel with a friend or friends.

Any INTP who can should do this, I promise it will be a life changing experience

P.S.
If there's anyone in the area of Austria, Germany, Czech, Slovakia, the UK, or something who wants to meet drop me a pm;)

I... am so jealous :o You're living my dream as well. It's great to hear you are just going for it and wandering just to wander, discovering just to discover and helping just to be helpful. You have my admiration.

I'm getting my motorbike shipped to Europe, picking the windiest roads on the map and riding all through Europe via said windy roads for 3 months, with no real destination or plan to stay anywhere.

I expect the experience to be similar to what you describe :)

@Beholder

I am going to do something similar when I finish the PhD.
Be careful, I promised myself I was going to hitchhike up the West coast to Alaska after I graduated. I ended up in a 9-5 job instead.

It might be fine short term.

I once fantasized about being a homeless person that just traveled around with no destination just to see the world and enjoy the freedom of having no obligations. I thought I could somehow get some passive income going maybe $500 a month or so and just use it for food/water/clothes. I figured it would be enough since I would have nothing else to pay for. I would carry a small backpack with a change of clothes, water, and a small laptop/phone so I could access the internet.

I thought I would do this somewhere warm near a beach and just relax and think about things all day. I thought I would meet interesting people since I would be outside all the time and generally have a good time.

Unfortunately, there are some problems with this. If I were to sleep outside I would always worry about someone stealing from my bag or worse. The same goes for homeless shelters. I don't think I would feel comfortable couchsurfing as I don't think I am extroverted enough for that. Another problem is actually creating $500 of passive income. I thought about renting real estate or investing in dividend paying stocks or maybe a combination of both. Unfortunately, both would require a considerable amount of money for investment to reach my $500/month goal. I also don't think swimming at the beach would provide quite the same results as a normal shower at home.

1. If you cross belgium and need a place to stay for a night, want to grab dinner or whatever, feel free to pm me. (I don't actually have much space or even a spare room, but i'm willing to share what I have.)

2. I've considered this idea. I'd truly love it, but... in all honesty, i'm somewhat scared of where i'd end up. Also, I've replaced it by the idea of trekking (probably going for north sweden, & going to start simple (kungsleden and / or alike tracks, before genuine wild trekking))

You should grow a travel beard, and be a wandering mystic.:cat:
Just before leaving for the airport I shaved, and haven't shaved since, and don't plan to until I get back home :)

How are you funding your travels?
I worked and saved up for a few months, it's not that expensive if you're smart about it. I have a gas cooker and a pot, and I make myself a soup most nights, buy food in supermarkets, etc'

Thanks for the offer! However I probably won't be in Belgium... Ya I might have um... Exaggerated abit when I said "no limitations", my only limitation is time (and money of course, but that can always be gotten around if you're resourceful enough;)), I have a flight booked home already from London in just over a month, and a flight booked to Scotland in a week and a half...
So unfortunately, like all good things, it must come to an end eventually.

As for trekking, when I'm at home I often take a few days to trek alone, I absolutely love it, that feeling you get when you wake up in the morning and there's no one around you for miles, and then just finding your way through forests and mountains (I make a point to stay away from trails).
On this trip I did the GR20 in Corsica, which is a trek which crosses Corsica from north to south, and was really dissapointed. The trek itself was great, mountains, views, etc', but it didn't have that 'alone' quality. I have a fast pace, so I was usualy alone during the day when I was walking, but then in the afternoon I'd get to a refuge and be suounded by people until the next morning again. I had much more fun actually travelling.
