i love friends. i would be seriously miserable without my friends.
i hate putting friends on a hierarchy (acquaintance, friend, "best" friend, etc.) but i recognize that there are differences in how close i am to certain people. i just don't know where the line is between "friend" and "good friend" or whatever.

if i had to wager a guess, i'd say i have two "good" friends, one "best" friend (my fellerfriend), and a handful of "friends". and then some acquaintances.

met most of them at school, being involved in the theatre department. if there's one thing i learned this year, it's that you really have to be willing to abandon some of your inhibitions and put yourself out there if you want to make friends. and once you're in, you're in. after that, "friend maintenance" should come pretty naturally, since INTP's dont' tend to be drama llamas.

I'd like to punch the person who said that in the face - is that a form of whining??

thanks nig

oh and to everyone who doesn't care this thread is resolved -
made ammends with my racing team ( well, partner, because the other guy just isn't at practice most of the time ) so we are like kinda friends again...

and I got into contact with some korean exchange student I went to highschool with so we smoke marijuana most nights in my car, it's generally unfun because he is ESFJ so he speaks loud, tries to get me stoked by acting stoked, takes it personally when i don't smile, and talks incessantly but never really talks about anything. constantly requests affirmation of shallow observations. always assumes i'm having an 'off' day, dispite the fact my demeanour is the most consistent aspect of our interactions.

so that's officially 1.5 friends

I have one true friend, but I have probably about 20 people who consider me THEIR friend... I suppose I'm just more stringent with who I label friends or not...

Even still, I don't hang out much, only with about 4 people, and sporadically at best.

I had four friends. One died in a car accident, two moved away and one moved in with me. Now I have zero friends.

hey thanks guys

coworkers are allright I guess but I'm pretty young, a lot of the people I have worked with are usually 10 years older than me, at LEAST.

photography club is actually a really excellent suggestion, when every one meets up and shares pictures
and I'm always around beautiful scenery when I skateboard, up in foresty hills with veiws of the lakes..

How old are you if you dont mind me asking? Ive had the same problem finding decent friends in the past. And I also hate finding friends at parties. Ive always been one of those people who talks to one person at a time. I do this because people are complex and the way I see it, one person requires all of your attention.

Hey just wondering how many friends each of you have...
by friends I mean real humans that you see in the flesh and talk to and "hang out" at least once a week or so...

If you have 0-1 friends please post and say so, it would make me feel so much better to know that I'm not the only one...

for everyone with 2 or more friends can you please tell me where you hang out / what do you do together

for a long time I have known the difference in feeling lonely and being alone, infact I feel the most lonely in a large group of people, but lately my complete deprivation of social contact has caused me to feel lonely while I am alone which is completely contrasted to everything that I think I know about socializing...

I am going to college in the fall and I am sure I will meet people in my classes that I can relate to, but in the meantime am I destined to feel lonely while I am alone?

please please please can anyone suggest some places where I can probably meet people?

useless suggestions are:
Bar
dance club
staples
grocery store
swimming pool
party
the mall
church

thanks for any help that can be offered!!!
I only have 1 friend that I am close enough with to trust anything serious with, but I have only about 3 friends other than that. I like keeping my circle low.

I'll tell you what I'm going to do in college. I'm going to get a roommate I don't know. It will be intriguing to find out how someone I completely don't know at all is, and it will be interesting to find out how similar or different is from me, his interests, etc. I just think it will be such a richer experience than rooming with someone I know.

I find it very difficult to actually hang out with anyone my age because my interests are so different from theirs. I generally hang out with adults and can definitely have a richer conversation with them.

By the way, what font are you using? I like it. It is the same font a C++ compiler I use uses, but I forgot what it is called.

I think that's actually kind of funny... but maybe that's just me.
