Enough of this silly talk about what "women" like. We shall dispay the truth once and for ALL !

What kind of individuals have you been attracted to? What do you think you could be attracted to? Abilities, qualities, oddities.

Now we will discover what REAL women want, GAWRGAWRGAWR! Oh, wait, that's men. TUDILUDIDUDI!

What I have been attracted to:

<3 One quality that I've "always" been attracted to is calmness. Being able to handle any situations without going crazy. To be relaxed and take things as they come. Independence

<3 Silence. Yeah, I don't like it when people talk too much. I like that inward gaze some have. They don't say much, but you can tell they are processing the information intelligently on the inside. That gaze...ah.

<3 Subtle caring. For some reason, I think of integrity here? What I mean by subtle caring, is ...well. I don't know how to describe it, really.

<3 Intellectual ability and insight is one of my turn-ons D :

I've never been in love, but I have been slightly attracted. When such occurs, it's usually spontaneously triggered by an action or behavior from the individual (I've actually been a bit attracted to women as well).

It's usually the complete package that counts. If you are annoying, intellectuality won't help. In fact, it will probably make you more annoying. Good luck in life :)

What I think I could be attracted to

Well, I don't have many. Humor, perhaps. The main things are usually the above. Other qualities are just the supplement of the complete package.

So, since talking about oneself is so utterly boring, I shall now describe the ideal partner of various forum members (even though some of you already have one). Well, I was mainly thinking ladies, but come to think of it... I should probably have included men as well. Splitting genders like that... =(

Well, at least I'll start with some of the ladies. I can't do all at once tho, be patient!

Fukyo: Subtly caring, patient, calm, highly intelligent. Fukyo won't trust him. He wont leave anyway, because he loves her too much <3

Polaris: Playful, outgoing, relaxed, takes initiative, positive, intelligent and accepting. Polaris is skeptical of this silly man, but he is persistent and insist they take a picnic in the park.

Actually, all of them would be intelligent, so I wont write it every time.

Cava: This one is a bit difficult, actually. I suppose someone as independent as she is. Why is this one so difficult !?

Cheesy: Well, he would be in good shape as trying to catch such an elusive being would be quite the challenge! He would be positive, somewhat outgoing. "Simpler" than she is. While cheese is all " a is b leads to y, g and k- he'd be more "hey, look a strawberry!" Enthusiastic, highly respects cheese's intelligence, even though he can't understand her completely.

Adaire: Silent, independent. Sarcastic and cold. Somewhat indifferent. Doesn't like to talk about mundane things.

Alisa: Sarcastic and independent. Somewhat playful. Unpredictable, spontaneous. Funny. Handsome.

Okay, I'm going to eat dinner now. Don't feel left out if I didn't mention you, there will be more rounds. Also, I need quite the stable impression to get an image of the potential boyfriend.

A thread where all the ladies on INTPforum draw up blueprints to their hearts? Sweet. I'm going to the local library to create a new account so I can take shots at my favorites while pretending to be some sweet, gentle newcomer.

More seriously, cheese is a girl? *head explodes*
I've already ruined this thread too, haven't I?

Adaire: Silent, independent. Sarcastic and cold. Somewhat indifferent. Doesn't like to talk about mundane things.

What about the long silver hair, the leather fetish, mommy issues, and insurmountable evil? You can't get by with half the package Minuend. Though I think I like Alisa's best. :p

I think my attractions are best summed up in a martial artist archetype.

Hear me out. They're graceful and flexible without being fragile and unreliable. Strong and disciplined physically and mentally, but not brusque or arrogant. Calm, competent and confident. Someone you can spar with, test and hone yourself against mentally and physically, while maintaining complete amicability and frankly having a great time. Adaptable. Precise. Subtle. Add some technophillia and a wicked sense of humor, and dammit I think I just fell for a description.

I really need to get back into martial arts.

edit: Applicable to both sexes

Adaire, that avatar reminds me of the Glauerts Seadragon. Those are awesome = D

Dormouse: Very playful and flexible. Teasing, romantic. Annoys Dormouse occasionally, which he finds great fun.

Crippli: Serious, quiet. Intellectual, questioning, sad, searching.

Lor: An artist, poet. Passionate and serious. Filled with ambition. Wants lor to raise to her potential. Can be a bit too pushy. Lor must be clear in her wants.

Some males

Anthile: Intellectual, relaxed, somewhat playful, romantic. Hopeful. Drags Anthile out to feed squirrels in the park. Works in the music business, has vast knowledge of it and it is her greatest passion. Passionate. World around her disappears when she is engaged in her greatest passions.

Coggie: Technical lady with a fine precision in logic and vast knowledge of what seems to others like everything. "Never" looses hope. Cheerful and sensible. Fair. Not afraid to speak her mind or confront individuals. Not fooled by petty debate techniques or logical fallacies (which she memorized when she was 15).

Melkor: Warm and charming. Outwits him. Outwits everybody. Great insight and understands people better than most. Cuddling. Childlike innocence. Kind, reasonable.

Maninchair: Teasing in a sarcastic manner with a crooked smile. Serious, stubborn. Loyal and committed. Tend to be cold, but Maninchair are able to detect the more subtle dispay of her love for him.

Vegard: Quiet, shy. Loyal to her beliefs and principles. Worried about people close to her. She gradually becomes more confident in time and becomes quite the reasonable woman with a warm heart and accepting nature. She does not accept a cold, hard world. Idealist.

Inappropriate Behaviour: A lady with bones in her spine. Cheeky and inappropriate. Direct and to the point, strong. Rises after a fall, refuse to give up. Passionate. Clear-minded, know what she wants.

Noddy: More down to earth, not easily surprised or shocked. Can handle most things and are not swayed by emotional appeal. Logic is her finest sense. Quickly raises eyebrow in presence of stupidity and can be a bit too quick to speak her mind- unavoidable offending target. She doesn't care though, "those bastards deserve every word and more so".

There will be more rounds, this was kinda amusing.

I'm UNKNOWABLE!:smiley_emoticons_mr

I value capability above most other things. If I see somebody as incompetent I'm immediately irritated and turned off. Otherwise I like a healthy dose of cleverness and wittiness. These two things combined with capability add up to what I consider "intelligence". A certain comfort with silence is very welcome. As for emotional disposition I don't need/want people to be optimistic or particularly upbeat but I respect those who have an attitude of quiet confidence in most situations. This is something I strive for in my day to day life and I definitely find it attractive in other people.

Let me give you the more accurate versions.
Alisa- Strapping and fit bloke who can carry her up stairs and save on chair lifts.
Must have an ear for long, maddeningly boring stories of the 'good old days', give daily sponge baths and be able to make a whopping fruit smoothie.
Has a car with lots of room in the boot.

Fukyo- Vacant, unfeeling, tentacled void monster from Victorian Gothic fiction that feeds on human hearts and small animals.

Minuend-Petite and luxurious show girl hailing from Paris who doesn't mind open relationships.

CRIPPLI IS A WOMAN?! Wait, was that the rhyming one? I love that gu- gal!

Also Vegard, Melllvar, I don't know how this keeps happening. Minuend, FOR THE LAST TIME, STOP PUTTING BREASTICLES ON ME. PLEASE! Thank you.

I'm only elusive because I keep it in my pants. :mad:

By the way, Minuend, none of these even sound like people. I'm sure there are those out there, but I don't seem to have met any of them. Does anyone else have a problem with positive descriptions, especially as relates to dating? They always sound full of themselves (even when someone else is describing them). Too perfect, not enough self-awareness. Or maybe it's just the fact that they've been 'captured' in words that's so infuriating. Or maybe it's the fantasy aspect. Dunno. Anyway, I'd like to punch every one of these bobblehats. Fie!

Also, according to Adymus they should all be ENTJs. Everyone, get cracking on Cav's future husband.

Many months ago, somebody asked me about attractive qualities/ideal partners, and of course I responded using interpretive song and dance a stupid chart.

This is missing a title and an x-y axis... wait, no.

1. If you keep your sex obscure, then it's considered wild card. People are allowed to consider you whatever sex fits their fantasy.

2. It looks like most of the females here wouldn't get along with me. I'm unintelligent; I'm non-serious (despite how I come across around here); I have no direction (I'm as lazy as they come); I have no passion (I'd blame the depression, but that might require me to care about something); my sense of humor is awkward, dark, and inappropriate; my "caring" is so subtle, most people probably wouldn't even notice; I'm incredibly non-jealous, as in, I wouldn't even care if you were banging someone else on the side (might be interpreted as inattentive); and as much as I like to think I'm independent, I'm so irresponsible and absent-minded that I would just about need someone to take care of me.

3. I don't consider myself a homosexual, but any guy that I could ever become interested in would probably need to be a post-op transsexual or have CAIS.

; my "caring" is so subtle,

How many girls just listed that as a plus? :rolleyes:

I'm incredibly non-jealous, as in, I wouldn't even care if you were banging someone else on the side (might be interpreted as inattentive)

Keep that trait if you can, it's a rare jewel in an age of poverty.

I'm much the same way; I've had an ex who actually got angry when they were unable to make me jealous. People keep telling me that jealousy is important for a healthy relationship and it just boggles my mind. It seems like such an ugly, destructive emotion and certainly no more respectable than a two year old shouting 'MINE!' People are simply not things to be possessed and claims of ownership are dehumanizing.

2. It looks like most of the females here wouldn't get along with me

I wouldn't worry too much AI, such things are by nature idealizations and not a person alive will properly epitomize them. An intp girl (and variations thereof) know they're not the idealized manic pixie dream girl(or another similar trope), and they're not expecting the equivalent.

I also forgot to mention eccentricity and an appreciation thereof. Few things are as awesome as reveling in someone's bizarre nature and having them revel in yours.

Well, I may or may not have mixed up genders to make things interesting :) I thought it was obvious that Cava was a guy, btw? Why do you think I keep flirting with him!?

Minnie, darling, lets find you a hobby.

Then why don't you send me one of your Irish gents, my dear?

Yay, with a self-esteem like that, I'll have no problems fitting you in my relationship with the French showgirl and Cava.

Hmm, It seems we keep coming back to this, but the characteristics I list aren't solid requirements. Life is more flexible than that. Merely stating a pattern. Also, I know some aren't to keen on who's this gender and who's that. I really don't find it such a big deal myself. But I suppose it just turn out this way because my initial idea was something different and then... I mean no offense, you poor androgynous humans. I suppose there are people on this forum who are better off believing you are the opposite gender, because they limit their perspective to such. Since I do not, I don't see the biggie with the labels.

Cheesy: I couldn't start writing their entire life stories now, could I? And some of them had flaws!

Jeaolosy. I suppose some would consider that proof of caring. But is it not really a sign of mistrust? I wonder if I would be the jealous type.

Enough of this silly talk about what "women" like. We shall dispay the truth once and for ALL !

Coincidence? I think not! Only the mighty spoiler tag has the right to dispay any and all truths once and/or for all!

hmmm, I think I tend to like those who I'd describe as... unflappable? Basically, you know how with some people you feel like you're walking on thin ice? Well, the opposite of that. I also admire enduring kindness, silliness, empathy, and a whole host of other things I'm sure. I think the 'enduring' part is important, as it suggests the resolve not to let others/circumstance/whatever deter one from their preferred behavior. But see, all that's a tall order. I don't think it's easy to be those things, and I think most would like to be them but can't for one reason or another. I don't feel particularly worthy of having such expectations.

Oh, and for the duration of this thread (and possibly longer?) I'm a woman. :phear:

You wound me, Cav. :(

AI, trans women and women with CAIS aren't men. :confused: You're saying you are only into feminised body types, I guess. What about a pre-op trans man, or a trans man who decides not to go for operations at all? The genitals would be female, and breasts might be present, but the person would identify and likely act as male. What exactly is it that you require? (Curious.)
[And why do you say you're unintelligent? Which standard are you referring to? You're not unintelligent compared to the population average, nor the intelligent population average, I'd say.]

Minuend: Cava's a woman! Engaged to a man! We've seen videos and photos and everything... unless Cava is someone other than Cavallier? Also, I wasn't criticising YOU, darling (although you should me for such license). I just hate those descriptions (I realised during a shower) because it completely removes the relational element from the equation. The person becomes an object to be looked upon, instead of a person you interact with. There's no together or us or relationship. Yuck. Looking back, I remember the 'Describe your ideal partner' thread, and I remember being just as sickened. And yet, I can't say I'm not guilty of ever fantasising, and given my penchant for people-painting.... Just a hippocrate like everyone else (I must not kill my fantasies!).

echoplex, you're always stealing my thoughts; it's very offensive. Yes, enduring, exactly, plus all the good stuff like kindness and whatnot. I think you're the person I'd be if I wasn't so bombastic (that's my counter-offense, taking away your uniqueness, muahahah etc).

Generally: I really don't know what to think about jealousy. It isn't something I can provide rational justification for, but I think the desire to retain intimacy has a place in a healthy relationship. It isn't about ownership in a master-slave sense, but rather a mutual belonging to each other. Probably because my views on wub are pretty old-school, and nothing speaks love to me more than commitment - if you care about someone enough you should make the effort to reserve the bulk/core/best bit of your self for them because you *are* a limited resource, and you've become their partner/family/Person. But it has to be mutual; jealousy where there isn't that kind of two-way bond is misplaced. I dunno. I've held the opposite view and several others before. But essentially (I think) I could never be 100% in a relationship without boundaries and commitment, it could never go really deep, though I'd be 'happy' and 'love' those people just as much as anyone else in today's commitment-scorning pleasure-seeking cult-of-the-individual world. But it's so easy to link these views to a 'less enlightened' time and dismiss them as unwanted inheritance, and it's hard to know what you really think, but 'insecurity' is the default insight into jealousy and inspires little other thought, being so easy to affix to an arrow.... Are obligations ever real or fair? The East suffocates me and the West leaves me alienated. I hate them both.

It's like they think we were ever sane :confused: Clearly, the absence of IB, Noddy, Cava and Grey Matters is having its effect.

Agent Intellect: It's like she can just look at people and instantly know who they are at their innermost. Her intellectual abilities and insight is surpassed by few. She is a highly admired professor and do great research. She is patient, easily amused and curious. Oh so curious. She falls asleep with books in her hands. (She often reads several books simultaneously to root out flaws or misleading facts.

~~~: Quiet and curious, witty and cheerful. Caring. She is doing marine research, sitting on some rocks near the ocean studying small creatures found there. They have a deep intimate bond and outsiders are often puzzled by their interaction.
Echo: Outgoing, playful, charming. Their Ne keeps them entertained and energized. There are explosion of ideas and and constant new experiences. Life is a game.
Jenny: Tall, kind, serious. Committed. No-nonsense and directly to the point. Accepting. A holding point when all else fails- reliable.
Lost With Eels: Oh, this is the typical geek with square glasses and a pony tail. Somewhat clumsy and daydreaming. Scientist and rational.
DarkGreen: A more calm individual to balance off Greenie's enthusiasm. He is charmed by her attitude, but sometimes Greenie takes things a bit too far without realizing. He is there to get them out of trouble. He is clever and a bit eccentric. Some are surprised by his seemingly paradoxical interests.
Bird: A skinny, reserved guy with a misanthropic outlook on life. Frowns a lot. Pessimistic, but very sexy => Bird is able to make him smile every now and then. He sees something in her that he didn't think possible.
Wulfie: Teasing and joking. Lively. Spontaneous, brings wulfie on sudden road trips in the middle of the night. Under that cheerful attitude is a piercing mind that is not easily challenged.
Grey Matters: Crazy! Handsome. Easily amused and transfers mood quickly to Grey. Somewhat rude and says what nobody else dares to. Does not lie, which can be hurtful at times. But the intention towards Grey is not malice, even though it doesn't show, there's a lot of worry about Grey's well-being and safety.
Edit
O.o
Hark, gentlemen! This insight into the female brain is fascinating. This is arguably more useful than a cross-section.
This is just tipping your toe in the waters... and having it torn off by tentacles.
Oh, and I forgot Words! Sorry, S Beverage, I don't "know" you well enough for an analysis.
Words: This gal is totally spaced out. She prefers her inner world to anything else. And what a world it is! For every question, she has some intricate and sometimes vague answer. She never gives up on a puzzle or, well, Word's questions. Her glasses are a tad too big and she keeps pushing them back in place. Reads A LOT.
I always thought that face was someone
peeking out from inside a clam.
i'm very confused about the purpose of this thread.
That's probably the only logical reaction.
As for being considered a member of the weaker sex...females...*shudder* I am not only offended but disgusted.
*slaps cheese's face with a frilly pink silk glove stolen from Echo*
Come Min. We have things to destroy and cute fuzzy creatures to eviscerate.*
*It's been way to long since I've gotten the opportunity to use the word "eviscerate".
Edit: I'm having horrible visions of Cheese pleasing itself in the shower using forum conversations as porn. Somehow that image fits well into my understanding of the universe.
I have an existential map. It has "You are here" w
Lost With Eels: Oh, this is the typical geek with square glasses and a pony tail. Somewhat clumsy and daydreaming. Scientist and rational.
So, Minnie. Can I call you Minnie? I mean, it does always bring up images of Minnie Mouse, who doesn't have anyway near as gemometrically angular nose as you do, but still. Or would you prefer if I called you Minuendo? I don't know, that just brings up images of a small Italian suppository. Not good, not fitting.
So anyway, for some reason I decided to respond to this after a couple of glasses of wine, and now I've had wine. Suffice to say that I have fairly recently (within the last 6 months) come across someone who doesn't at all match the above description, and who makes me very happy. I'll be moving to a different country soon as a result.
;)
What's interesting about your OP is that those are qualities I look for in women as well.
