"Charlatans hold sway over a powerful magic, in the delight of their audience."
Another retake on Schopenhauer's musings, in particular the price of learning, disillusionment; but as my mental goldfish suggests, although the capacity for gaining pleasure directly from a magician's tricks disappears in a puff of figurative smoke the moment one learns how the trick is done, one gains in return the capacity to perform the trick themself for the benefit of others, and the vicarious pleasure inherent in bringing the delight of magic & mystery to others.
What thoughts are swimming around in your head?
Be they whales or minnows, it doesn’t matter.
