:confused::rolleyes:;)
choose an animal off the top of your head or give it some thought, once youve decided list as many characteristic as to why you like this animal

select a second animal and explain its importance or what makes it appealing

finally choose one last animal and create a list of attributes or abilitys

these questions can be answered in any way

I chose the grey wolf because they travel in packsand are still independant
Gray wolves are social predators that live in nuclear families consisting of a mated pair which monopolises food and breeding rights, followed by their biological offspring and, occasionally, adopted subordinates. They primarily feed on ungulates, which they hunt by wearing them down in short chases. Gray wolves are typically apex predators throughout their range, with only humans and tigers posing significant threats to them.
tiger because its an exotic animal which is one of the kings of the jungle, anybody can take a guard dog but who would fuck with a tiger
Tigers do not live in prides as lions do. They do not live as family units because the male plays no part in raising his offspring. Tigers mark their territory by spraying urine on a branch or leaves or bark of a tree, which leaves a particular scent behind. Tigers also spray urine to attract the opposite sex. When an outside individual comes into contact with the scent, it learns that the territory is occupied by another tiger. Hence, every tiger lives independently in its own territory.
and grizzley bear, because it is a badass predator with lots of badass whale killing cousins. it hunts all summer and sleeps all winter
Although grizzlies are of the order Carnivora and have the digestive system of carnivores, they are actually omnivores, since their diet consists of both plants and animals. They have been known to prey on large mammals, when available, such as moose, deer, sheep, elk, bison, caribou and even black bears. Grizzly bears feed on fish such as salmon, trout, and bass, and those with access to a more protein-enriched diet in coastal areas potentially grow larger than interior individuals. Grizzly bears also readily scavenge food, on carrion left behind by other animals.
Grizzlies are considered by some experts to be the most aggressive bears. Aggressive behavior in grizzly bears is favored by numerous selection variables. Unlike the smaller black bears, adult grizzlies are too large to escape danger by climbing trees, so they respond to danger by standing their ground and warding off their attackers. Increased aggressiveness also assists female grizzlies in better ensuring the survival of their young to reproductive age. Mothers defending cubs are the most prone to attacking, being responsible for 70% of fatal injuries to humans.Historically, bears have competed with other large predators for food, which also favors increased aggression.
Grizzlies directly regulate prey populations, and also help prevent overgrazing in forests by controlling the populations of other species in the food chain.

DO NOT READ UNTIL AFTER YOU HAVE WRITTEN YOUR SELECTION DOWN
1st animal is how others see you
2nd animal is how you see yourself
3rd animal is your goals for yourself

1. Octopus!

The octopus is like, such a cool animal, because, like, it has this really weird shape to it, first of all, and like, has all these legs and stuff. What's so totally cool about it though is that like, we look at these octopuses and we're all like "Hey dude, you got 8 legs. I bet you are highly versatile!" But actually, it's like a misconception, you know? Because they're just an animal. But still, they have like, a really developed brain, and plus they are nearly amorphous, which is totally awesome! But I think the best part is their ability to camouflage themselves, which is really, really impressive. Their skin can take on like, almost any pattern or texture it comes across!

2. Gazelle.

Gazelles appeal to me because they are majestic creatures. For aesthetic grace, I can't think of a better animal. I definitely like the shape of their horns, as well as the proportions of the beast in general. Gazelles are typically regarded as fast, and this adds to the appeal, meaning it is not just beautiful, but capable as well. I also think it has a very manageable size; in fact, I would actually like one for a pet :p

I think Cephalopods are going to develop human level intelligence and build underwater civilisations sometime in the distant future.

The Furnarius rufus is a medium bird from South America. It's said to be very skillful and smart. It makes his nest - that looks more like a furnace (that's why "Furnarius") - with sticks and dirt. People say that he makes the entry of his nest based on wich way the wind blows and where the sun rises - and that, along with the dirt getting dry and brittle, is why he makes a new nest every season or two.

For what I've been observating, his nest entry is made on a pretty much random position. Although I didn't wait to see if the nests were occupied or if they were old ones.

Ants are the most successful genus on earth. They represent 15 to 25% of the terrestrial animal biomass. Most of them live in caste societies, very similar to the human societies. They comunicate through complex pheromones and their colonies have complex tunnel systems and great engineering. For some reason - maybe because ants are a plague to some farmers - most humans, when they see an ant, they don't think twice and just kill it. :rip:

Oh there should be a third animal... Sry

People born in the Year of the Rabbit are articulate, talented, and ambitious. They are virtuous, reserved, and have excellent taste. Rabbit people are admired, trusted, and are often financially lucky. They are fond of gossip but are tactful and generally kind. Rabbit people seldom lose their temper. They are clever at business and being conscientious, never back out of a contract. They would make good gamblers for they have the uncanny gift of choosing the right thing. However, they seldom gamble, as they are conservative and wise. They are most compatible with those born in the years of the Sheep, Pig, and Dog.

Once upon a time, the Jade Emperor thought it'd be better to assign an animal to each year so people could more easily remember the Zodiac cycle. So he decided to hold a meeting with all the animals and he would choose 12 of them to be the Zodiac animals. At that time, Cat and Rat were close friends. They were very excited about the meeting and decided to go early. However, Cat was a sleepyhead. He hardly ever woke up before noon. On the night before the meeting, he asked Rat to wake him early the next morning. When morning came, Rat got up early and quietly left for the meeting alone. When Cat finally woke up in afternoon, he knew it was too late. Feeling betrayed, he vowed that henceforth Rat would be his enemy. That is probably the main reason Cats are always chasing after Rats.

During the Han Dynasty, people believed the tiger to be the king of all beasts. According to legend the tiger's tail would turn into white when it reached the age of 500 years. In this way, the white tiger became a kind of mythological creature. It was said that the white tiger would only appear when the emperor ruled with absolute virtue, or if there was peace throughout the world. Because the color white of the Chinese five elements also represents the west, the white tiger thus became a mythological guardian of the west.

For the first, I'm going to go with a barn owl. Most raptors in general easily fit the description of the detached observer, but the barn owl has a few more shared characteristics between it and myself. It's nocturnal. It does its best hunting (and likely thinking) at 3AM when the world is dark and silent, gliding silently from a branch to pick off completely unsuspecting small rodents, one after another. They're snatched into oblivion and disemboweled before they know what's going on. Its vision is extraordinary, as is its ability to maneuver around obstacles in midair without making a sound. They are amazingly efficient predators and the epitome of silent, powerful observation in action.

It has a decent lifespan for a bird, with most that live to become breeding adults lasting between 5 and 27 years. Its also got the screech. Far from the stereotypical hoot owl, this sound is part soul-eating demon, part velociraptor, and very few in the rest of the world want to listen to it regardless of the factual or theoretical content being communicated within the sound:

Number two is the black bear. There is an old cliche Native American saying that if a branch falls in the forest, the eagle sees it, the deer hears it, and the bear smells it. While not being able to smell knowledge, I feel that a bear's sense of smell is a great representation of intuition compared to more "conventional" means of acquiring knowledge, but in the case of bears, their specialty is food. Anything from termites, obscure grubs within a rotting log, or the seeds locked within a fallen pine cone to human garbage, deer fawns, agricultural crops, and bird seed, food is their life, and they know where to find it. This intuitive ability is further shown by the fact that their natural food sources are seasonal and sequential. Different foods are in different areas at different times, and if you miss a step, you're left behind.

So why the black bear as opposed to the more powerful grizzly or polar bears that actually have even greater senses of smell? Black bears are fairly unobtrusive and nonaggressive, basically the ninjas of the forest. They're crepuscular (most active at dawn and dusk), when they do overlap with humans they are rarely detected, and they are goal (food) oriented. I once had a bear break into a research trailer full of student interns in the middle of the night, bypass the 8 people who were sleeping inside, and make a b-line for the refrigerator, and eat everything including a glass jar of jelly, which apparently broke and cut its mouth. We awoke to quite a mess, which brings me to yet another admirable black bear quality: they can be absolutely silent when they want to, which adds to their ninja-esque qualities. They're also as strong as they need to be, when they need to be (even though they've got nothing on a grizzly), not to mention other amazing physical abilities (the ability to "hibernate" anywhere from bare ground to clear cuts to the rare cave, the ability to metabolize their own waste while they "hibernate", etc).

Last, lets go with the federally endangered Kirtland's Warbler (KW). The KW is naturally one of the rarest birds on the planet, breeding in a habitat with extremely specific requirements (stands of jack pine that are between 3 and 7 years old with approximately 20-50 year wildfire regimes, a select composition of understory vegetation, very specific underlying geology, etc). It breeds in a very small area in Michigan, with a much smaller breeding subpopulation recently discovered in Wisconsin.

The most interesting attribute of the KW is its impact on the rest of the ecosystem in which it resides. Naturally, the KW is not a traditional keystone species, supporting throngs of other species based on a traditional food web and trophic structure. Because the KW relies on natural fire regimes, and humans have a habit of putting out fires when they occur regardless of ecological integrity, the KW forces land managers to maintain the entire ecosystem using a series of controlled burns and jack pine plantations. Jack pine naturally reproduces in wildfire events, which melt the sap holding the seed cones shut and allow seeds to be released. Therefore, all the other species that depend upon and thrive under natural fire regimes are preserved. The KW also migrates to the Bahamas for the winter, where I got to aide in collecting stable isotope samples.

For the record, I looked at the spoiler before I picked number 3 because I was having trouble thinking of a third and I didn't see the OP's third choice. :P

The panther, though not it's own species, is my favourite animal. Quiet hunter. Alone, mysterious, dark, strong.

The cat. Laid back, lazy, efficient hunter, independent.

Peregrine falcon. Dive at high speeds (300km/h), sharp eye sight, it can fly...

Apparently I have high expectations of myself.

Elephant - incredible memory, patient, and has a large penis.
Eagle - Just spends all its time by itself swooping down when it needs to.
Spider - Builds webs using all eight eyes and traps its preys carefully

Actually my brother calls me an elephant, I always dream about being an eagle or a horse, and I have no fucking idea why did Spider pop in my mind in the end but I sort of saw it when I tried to bullshit out a reason.

Canis lupus and all subspecies inc. familiaris - like people but better and without the taint of moral culpability.

Homo sapiens - interesting, baffling, wonderful, terrible, enigmatic, etc.

The turtle Gamera because Gamera is friend of all children and can breathe fire and fire makes Gamera stronger and the rockets bounce of Gamera's shell.
