Ok, another one I'm quite sure of. Seen avatar? I believe it portrays an INTP-INFJ romance

I don't see that. The main male character (forget his name) seems clearly to be an XSTX type. He's not too bright.

(I see Jim Cameron as an ENTJ if you watch some interviews with him in):

Agreed

Just because you are an INTP doesn't mean you make a bright impression. Compare to ISTP Bale: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0nC3wn0QpoE

Sam is perhaps engaging his lower functions too directly, he is known as the most grounded person in hollywood, ego is part of indulging in your dominant.

Poor choice of words, I don't mean smart-stupid bright. Sensor guys have an orientation, a way of behaving that shows an orientation towards senses. Intuitive's may come off as stupid because they're spaced out. I'm not expressing myself well but anyhow I always thought that character was an ISXX type.

As I said he is known as the most grounded person in hollywood, those people are the most difficult people to type because of the balance... Watch ISTP bale interviews, a not very grounded person, clearly more sensing oriented than Sam yet the same Ti mannerisms. Are you suggesting Sam is a Feeler as well?

Yeah, it should be obvious. I think its just Ink being a loony. Most of his typings here are crap.

I happen to disagree, please point out which ones you think are wrong and briefly why you think so :)

I am sorry but Tony Hawk is not INTP. Okay? Like the damn guy is a professional adrenaline junkie and exploited his wealth, fame to make even more money. It's not bad but it's really sensory stuff.

Now this is certainly not the right way to type people...

Why is that, do you put all your sense of self-worth into the traits described as INTP? All I'm saying is you can't tell what a celebrities personality is like without studying how they behave in person, I guess all you know of him is what you've read in the news or seen in staged scenes.

Also about Hawk not being an intuitive because he was succesful in sports, I don't know about you all but I've always been active and very good at sports my whole youth, I picked up snowboarding as a kid faster than most others taking the class and went on to become the one winning the most competitions during the following years in the club, mostly consisting of sensors. Ti-Ne-Si can be very advantageous at perfecting a sport.

I was addicted to basketball as a child and managed to get into the Varsity team.
I even dreamed of being a professional even though I wasn't nearly as good as my peers.

Did I have a realistic shot? Hell no!

You don't seem to understand the extent of your statement. You are saying that someone who professionally competed and became the worlds most renowned adrenaline junkie, who then decided to build a fantastic business off of his name is an INTP. He's interviewing someone else in that video too!

Albert Einstein rode a bicycle and may had a leg up his competition in High School but there is no way in hell he'd be first in tour de france.

Don't give me the stereotype stuff, MBTI is stereotyping on it's own.

Whether you are able to become competitive in a sport or not only has to do with how dedicated you are, you can be extremely dedicated even if you score high on a P scale. I believe theres more to mbti than your generic stereotyping personality test, so yes I do think judging a persons personality only looking at achievements is stupid.

Yes, Tony Hawk is an ISTP. I am saying that because for an extroverted intuitive, particularly INTP, skateboarding gets boring well before perfection. We tend to move on with other activities. Attaining competence in other activities as well.

MBTI defines personality through preferred functions. Man like hitting his wall against head, man employs himself as a hit-head-against-wall guy. He achieves the biggest hit against the wall. He does not become into the best-selling novelist who writes about love unless he suffered a massive head trauma.

Personality in my opinion, has to be one of the largest factors that predict ones career and ones satisfaction in that career. In fact, that was more than half the point of MBTI for me. To confront and dissect your preferred way of behaving, interacting, and thinking to bring out relevant suggestions. A fish likes to swim, not walk.

The results were that Tony was "gifted," he tested with an I.Q. of 144

INTPs are much more likely to score highly on IQ tests than ISTPs.

Here he speaks of needing a sixth sense when skateboarding (Ne) and then mentions specific mistakes you shouldn't do (Si). He is being abstract and concrete in a way an INTP is, not the other way around, it's very obvious.

Not to mention his body movement, the way he constructs his sentences etc all point to INTP, no ISTP talks in such abstract terms.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NMnVu1H6T6o

pjoa09 have you seen anything of Hawk except his bio?

How is that Ne? I really think you are referencing something else here.

I always thought Ne is identifying patterns not sixth sense of where a board is.

I have played quite a few of Tony Hawks Skateboarding games and they are quite damn fun.

Just because he references his mistakes doesn't make him Si. Besides, we need Ti and Ne. Clearly he's using Ni. Ni enables one to visualize what they can't see. The very stuff mechanics need while working on technical things.

I can't relate to how he speaks.

Can't say he's INTP just because he's gifted. I am a dumbass.

So what the hell do you think identifying patterns is? It's about recognizing things looking at very little data using your past experience intuitively, much quicker than sensing but less accurate. A "sixth sense".

No but he references them in a very matter of fact past tense way, not some abstract Ni thing.

Besides, we need Ti and Ne. Clearly he's using Ni. Ni enables one to visualize what they can't see. The very stuff mechanics need while working on technical things.

He never mentions visualizing what he can't see.

I very much do.

I'll assume you're acting out of type then and not using your strengths effectively.

I think these actors are INTP based off their demeanor.

Aaron Taylor-Johnson aka Kickass
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=arudEdQuKOM

Adam Brody aka Seth OC
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zJHub1wydMw

Alexis Bledel aka Rory Gilmore Girls
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pp4wlDNlQrw

I know they all start with "A" but that isn't necessarily a prerequisite.

Hannah McGill - Film critic (not famous)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=34o1XtXecHY

Add to that Aubrey Plaza and Marion Cotillard from INTP and acting thread.

Both are 'sixth senses' but extroverted intuition is expansive and introverted intuition is focused and convergent.

Someone who uses introverted intuition cannot describe how it is utilized. i.e , Tony Hawk who talks about sixth sense in trying to find his board.

Just refer to an ENTP if you really think that is how Ne works.

No but he references them in a very matter of fact past tense way, not some abstract Ni thing.

A rather ridiculous point, that would mean everyone uses Si. Everyone recalls the past as a matter of fact way unless they can't remember much (or a damn thing).

He never mentions visualizing what he can't see.

He just said that you need to know where the board is. How else other than visualization?

I very much do.

Good for you.

I'll assume you're acting out of type then and not using your strengths effectively.

Not a lot of people get to utilize their strengths.

But seriously.

"Extraverted Sensing occurs when we become aware of what is in the physical world in rich detail.

We may be drawn to act on what we experience to get an immediate result.

We notice relevant facts and occurrences in a sea of data and experiences, learning all the facts we can about the immediate context or area of focus and what goes on in that context.

An active seeking of more and more input to get the whole picture may occur until all sources of input have been exhausted or something else captures our attention.

Extraverted Sensing is operating when we freely follow exciting physical impulses or instincts as they come up and enjoy the thrill of action in the present moment.

A oneness with the physical world and a total absorption may exist as we move, touch, and sense what is around us.

The process involves instantly reading cues to see how far we can go in a situation and still get the impact we want or respond to the situation with presence."

How is this not skateboarding? This is it! This is first in order. If there is no agreement then I will assume you are using Ink's Temperament Indicator.

I am sure a lot of skateboarders are great Se users. Tony Hawk is no ISTP though.

Tony Hawk Quotes: The Skateboarder's Way Of Life:
Big decisions in my life have always come easy and are made without hesitation. It is easier for me to make a life-changing decision than to decide what to get for dessert.’

From the interview:

Interviewer: "Why haven't we got hoverboards, like in Back to the Future? I mean, why haven't we got there yet?"
Tony: "I am not a scientist. But I think it's got to do with...expenses."

Tony, speaking about his ADD/ADHD: "Actually, they just tried to help me direct my energy. Truly, once I found skateboarding, I focussed everything I had on it. I mean, everything I had outside of the sports world, and everything I had outside of school, that was it. I just did it on skating, and felt like it was much easier to deal with."

In case you are wondering, the interviewer is an ENTP.

Ink, thanks for agreeing with my reads.
I think the interviewer is quite likely an INTP but I can't be 100 percent because you only see him asking questions he though of off camera and not enough of his metal processing. Maybe near the end you see him processing a little but I can't really be sure.

Tony Hawk reminds me a lot of my Dad who is ISTP so I'd go with that. He is a lot more agressive when speaking, and trying to impose himself in the conversation, which I think is more of an ISTP thing. Plus as has already been said, he is a pro-skater adrenaline junkee which isn't really an INTP thing naturally.

And I don't know about Tony Hawks interviewer, either ENTP or ESTP.

Yeah, I admit I could be wrong on Hawk, I rely mainly on facial cues, body language, word choice etc when typing... After your post scorp I watched a clip of him actually skating and got a different perspective on him

I agree on INTP for Walken as well!

my understanding is that Jung was deceased before the formal typologies were released by meyers and briggs?

either way im having a hell of a time trying to figure this out. is there a link or anything you could provide to support the INTP claim?

I think Jung is an INFJ.
I don't know if anyone's noticed this but I think forehead lines can be used to tell personality type. To the point now where I can't look at someone without noticing what their forehead is doing.
I'm warning you. If you don't want to spend the rest of your life staring at foreheads turn back now!

The lines you can see on Jung's forehead correspond with dominant introverted intuition. They are quite far apart and horizontal. There is a dip in the middle.
The more a person uses a brain function the more the lines show.
Like dominant extraverted intuition causes really arched movements and that can be very close together when activated.
When people get older the lines tend to stay on the face all the time.
As INTP's we have the extraverted intuition pattern on the forehead too but it's not expressed as dramatically.
Introverted thinking requires an expressionless face so we might not be prone to getting so many wrinkles as we age.
Extraverted thinking is like a shallow bridge that begins around the eyes and cross all the way across the forehead. Closer together than the introverted intuition lines and. And there is a bit of a dip in the middle. It's hard to describe though.

It's not the only thing I'm using to type Jung. It looks like there is a bit of an eye drift there too. I don't see any introverted feeling in this clip which would rule out INTJ.

It all comes down to whether you, who watched a clip of Jung, or Jung himself, who spent a lifetime being Jung, are right or wrong...

@NoID10ts Sure, not only do you not have to be famous, you don't even have to be INTP.

I would say James Madison. He had a theory, "a fundamental principle of free government." He had this idea, he had a vision. He saw in his mind how the state of nature is left and government created.
INTP's are into systems & Madison saw a big picture of free government and a theory of how that government could be built. He saw a whole network of republics within republics each balancing the other.

off the top of my head, it would be anybody who seems emotionally remote and mostly interested in various theories and trying to gain information rather than make some kind of mark on society. Also basically dont care what anybody thinks about them, so they are known for saying eccentric sounding things.

bill gates, well he fails the last part

jeff goldblum

charles grodin

woody allen

jay cutler

bill murray

jeanine garofalo

michael richards

Brad Pitt I'm pretty sure is an ISFP, the rest are likely INTP candidates I'd say...
