Ok. This might be because I am yet a stranger in this world (woo R&J quote) and don't have much experience with prenuptual agreements, but this entire situation completely disgusts me. Tiger being unfaithful to his wife = she gets more money from him? I've seen this kind of thing before but I can't believe that they are actually making a clause that pretty much says "If you don't separate for the next two years you get THIS MUCH DOUGH!" Not to mention the ridiculous fact that she is immediately getting $5 million up front? Is that the current going price for adultery? Here I thought the point of prenups were to protect each partners assets, not sell one partner into paid servitude.
What happened to a couple being responsible for their own actions and understanding that marital dissent is an entirely probable situation? One that should be dealt with as humans, not as tax collectors.
If I'm missing something here, please correct me. I'd rather not have to be this uspet with society right now.
And now The Daily Beast is reporting that Elin Woods is renegotiating that prenup to get an immediate $5 million payout from her husband and as much as $55 million more to stay with him for two more years. The initial prenup was worth $20 million after 10 years of marriage. However, the Chicago Sun-Times' Bill Zwecker has reported that Elin Woods will receive an immediate payment "into an account she alone controls," and that the 10-year timeframe -- which began when they married in 2004 -- has been shortened and the value increased "substantially."
