I often skip breakfast and eat lunch late as I usually unconcerned about it over other things. When I finnally eat I feel realy relaxed. When I google this it talks about diabetes. I dont feel tired at all from the process and am clear headed. I never noticed the feeling before and never enjoyed eating. Now it is similar to the relaxed feeling after sex.

you are in fat burning mode, starvation mode, ketosis, perhaps even utilizing neoglucogenesis, that is when stress hormons convert fat into energy that is usable for body and brain while slowly burning out your adrenal glands. without support from stimulants like coffee, it's not always so easy to obtain the needed stress levels to cover energy needs, when ingested sugar (glycogen) is used up. this brainstate may feel interesting but it's a dissociative state, the mind appears to be alert only in contrast to a reduced shallow body experience. many other experiences are not very enjoyable in this mode, i leave it to your imagination. don't even talk to your girlfriend, when undercarbed.

We are talking about a short term fast before glycogen is used up. 12 to 18 hrs

"According to Dr. Mark P. Mattson, chief of the laboratory of neurosciences at the US National Institute on Aging, fasting every other day (intermittent fasting) shows beneficial effects in mice as strong as those of caloric-restriction diets,[3] and a small study conducted on humans at the University of Illinois at Chicago indicates the same results.[4] According to the US National Academy of Sciences, other health benefits include stress resistance, increased insulin sensitivity, reduced morbidity, and increased life span.[5][6]" wiki

Fasting is supposed to allow your blood sugar level to balance. Fasting should actually allow your insulin tolerance to increase, allowing for greater sensitivity when you actually need it. After this, you should go for balanced nutrition without a lot of junk, and then your blood sugar level should not rise too high at all.

When I think back over my life I note that most of the truely happy and relaxed moments have involved food and drink. Getting drunk and feasting on wine steamed clams, a perfect hoppy beer and a side of truffle fries and my feet in the sand, an early morning quiet breakfast of warm crepes and raspberries with tea on my porch.

The good moments usually involve my husband as well but food is very often the central theme.

Sometimes I wish I could just 'experience' life like that. I spend too much time trying to understand it.
