Ta da! Hi everyone I'm here and from the look around I quickly did, I'm pretty close to home.

So do you want the looong story of my journey or the short sweet and salty?

Years ago I tested INTJ and thought it was a pretty cool. Didn't really think more about it until my (our)(and I will get to the other that makes this plural soon I am sure) shrink wanted me to test myself again 6 years later and well low and behold I somehow in that time have ditched the J and become a P.
Said shrink was thrilled. I am rare and it explains everything! Yayy. Pffft NOT. So what do I do with this new found change of alphabet? Procrastinate. Dwell. Start to feel even more like there is a mountain before me and it just raised by 10 000 feet. Yes. Yes and Yes.

I'm a girl, well woman if labels are to be applied correctly and that makes me even more rare and my shrink even more joyful. It just makes me FEEL crazier than I thought I was. Abuse history...check. Isolation..check. Get on better with animals than people..check. Find people just too hard to relate to...check. High IQ...check. Head full of ideas and no ability to express them 'the right way'...check.

I have a very patient partner. He tested INFP. Prior mentioned shrink thinks we are equally awesome and destructive for each other. I agree. He agrees. 2 plus years and thank G*%!# we both love the thrill of rollercoasters. You would not believe how many spirals we have twisted through. Yayy for drama. Mine and his.

So....Hi from me. Hi from me who has no idea what being me means. I know I love to debate, I can play devils advocate on any subject and I kick ass on Tomb Raider and Porche Challenge.I am one year closer to 40 next week and am dying inside at how little I have achieved. I can build a Lego Death Star and I can't work out what I want to do when I grow up. I love Japanese yet hate having to get dressed to go out and eat it. Genetic engineering fascinates me and I love books, I talk about nano technology to my partner and his eyes glaze over. He is the one of the best at what he does, and I can't imagine doing that for a living. I have no close friends and I like it that way...kinda.

I hope I will be welcome here. You all seem so much more together AND intelligent. Please accept me and someone please please challenge me! (A softly padded room is becoming such a more delicious dish I might enjoy)

:-)

Hello scruffylass. I challenge your perception of age. In fact i challenge the whole worlds misguided view of time. Time is universal, we only see it as relative as we are mortal beings. I would expand on that but i need lunch

Hi and thank you for the acknowledgement loveofreason!

Not sure I am a fan of robots, my brain equates robots with sheeple and i've never been a fan of following the herdmaster. Lets hope sharing the same surrounds means we have imbibed of the same mutancy causing love of our mundane little city and bananas and nonsheeplehood but still a love for everything robotic :-)

Thanks Dissident, it sure looks like home, hope you don't mind if I clutter it with my stuff, but just in the corners!

Geeze Fury start me on a big one hey!? The concept of time and age. To illustrate my view on it...My partner turned 40 last year. I threw him a 21st party, complete with cake and all the frills for a 21st. Age is just a number to help society consign me to the correct box. Logically I know my body and its cell deterioration is more advanced than the 20something I feel I am and the mirror tells me I look, however I do rebel against the concept that the passage of time should be marked as a constant because some old fart that had a fetish for the numbers 365, 60, 28 31 30 24 12 and 7. Call that ignorant if you will but I believe it is more dangerous to believe that time cannot change. As an example, are your winters starting warmer? summers starting a bit cooler? If the onset and timing of seasons, which time is somewhat marked by are changing, shouldn't time and the seasons change to reflect the shift? Urghh I am stopping here because wow the clock says a new day has started and I didn't even notice the passage of that time ;-) plus my brain has had enough.

Thank you for the warm and challenging welcome! Forgive me if it takes a while to shake out the cobwebs.

Hey Scruffy, Welcome Home!

Would you happen to also be a 'Leftie"?
Lefted-handed women are notoriously gifted and rare as well.
Pardon me if I act as a "champion" to this challenge by Fury...

Linear Time is an invention of the Book of Genesis in the Bible (see Wki: Time)
Prior views of time was not as progressive, but rather cyclical and never changing. That is time was 'measured' in three units or celestial cycles: the daily solar cycle, the monthly lunar cycle and the annual cycle of the stars.
So which view is misguided the Biblical or the Pagan?

OR... Could you, perhaps, be referring to the fact that both the Past and the Future are merely figments of our imagination, existing only in the realm of Faith?

Neither.

Actually, I'm referring to the Newtonian view of time, in which it is a natural part of the universe and "flows equably without regard to anything external". Time does not depend on us to recognize it's motion, were the entire human race to be wiped out, the universe would not come to a stand still. Being the egotistical being that we are we believe that only when we witness an even does it happen.

Take for instance George Berkeley, he proposed that only when one is observing an object, say a tree, does it exist. It is the same in that old philosophical riddle, If a tree falls in the forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound. The universe does not rely on us simple beings to be.

Feh. INTPs measure maturity differently than everyone else. We shall be sages, whilst being decried as immature by the rest of the world... Then we'll launch the rest of the world off into space.

Energy = Universe.

Time = Energy

when the sun rotates we see it with our eyes, energy has been moved in a direction.

time is a measure of how much energy moves away from us or towards us, or around us. If something stands still infront of us it's locked in time. We notice time as energy changing around us, without any energy time stands still. Time is observable energy. Without any senses, 'time' is not relevant. Time is relative because our senses ( eyes ), for example, can percieve different rates at which something travels further from you, and gives you less light energy in your eyes.

problably obvious but i wanted to write it for myself too :)
