Describe her/him and say why is he/she the dream one. We all know that INTPs are day-dreaming all the time. Include picture if you have them (no pr0n please). Fire away. :)

Imagine.
Wavy brown hair framing an innocent smile
enchanting you.
No words are needed for you just
understand.
And you do a slow dance savoring the moment.

The music plays melancholic and you hold one another
comfortingly.
And without thought, without plan, you realize
you're smiling.
And you want to laugh at the world, scream with wild abandon
but you kiss instead
and thought is banished
the future no longer exists
there is just the moment
there is now.

T function aside,
there were black eyes,
the kind that show the soul
deep under;
wide shoulders; and a smile
that said 'in spite of everything,
there's always you and me'.

I like all sorts of guys. Just so long as they're attractive somehow and physically fit, I could care less. It all depends on what's in their head.

Someone who understands me through and through, no words are needed to make her attend to my needs or I to her's.

.

Found one like this. She was Pony though and I had a lucky escape after a sleepless night (to avoid a fight). Pony girls (ESFJ) do not understand body language. They are fucking ridiculous.

Taller than me, with big hands, strong arms, the kind of face that might be hard if it wasn't gentle. A short beard, soft eyes that often seem troubled, like windows onto a stormy sea. A broad chest and shoulders for using as a pillow. Quiet, reflective, and content to just be together; patiently suffering my silliness and my melancholy with affection. Grounded, to anchor me, and able to make things and fix things. Not of a pliant heart, but not stubborn, either - yielding and listening quietly when he knows I need him to, but never letting me wind him round my little finger. Protective, but not obsessively so, and while not necessarily brilliant, clever enough to appreciate me and basically kind and good-hearted.

He has to be independent and reflective. That's all I got so far.

Another thing; he has to show up on time when we've made an appointment. I hate it when people are late.

For me, she has to be an understanding woman. I do all sort of stupid things now and then, and she has to be like my mother: laugh then say what i did wrong. Independence is a strong point i agree. Not the kind that says "I love you". That means nothing for me. And i have a favorite in the physical department. Meet....

Nena, or Gabriele Susanne Kerner. German singer. The pic is from the '80s i think. Just pure awesomeness.

Independence isn't too important for me. Since we're dealing in ideals, here, this is someone I wouldn't mind spending every second of my life with. I don't exactly want clinginess, but quiet togetherness is very nice. Little tokens of love are important, too. An occasional, heartfelt "I love you", a lot of cuddling, nuzzling, etc...

Since we are talking ideals:

Imagine sitting in a silent room, alone, researching and then a strong arm slips around you and a gentle kiss is placed on your cheek before he bends close and asks what you are doing. When you reply he will take an active interest, sit down close to you and you can spend the reminder of the day researching together.

Like Jordan, it's the quiet togetherness that I want, two persons being of one mind, if a slightly disagreeing one. I like my arguments, the intellectual challenge they bring etc. as long as the arguments are not that serious. But I also want a streak of mischievousness in my ideal man. He should not be all grown up and serious all the time, but a big boy at heart with a wonderful intellect.

Yea, Nena is the one with the 99 balloons (Red balloons in the english version? In the German it is only "99 Luftballons")

Ummm...
I'm not sure if I should translate it...
Whatever, I shoot away.
99 Handgranaten, fliegen übern Kindergarten.
99 handgranades, fly over a preschool. (the German Kindergarten is the US preschool, whereas the US kindergarten is the German Vorschule, which, literally is preschool)
88 schweverletzte,10 davon sind ganz zerfetzte
88 severely injured, 10 of those completely torn to shreds
1 hab ich nicht getroffen, der ist dafür abgesoffen

hmmmm, in english, the song is a lot less violent.
99 red balloons, floating in the summer sky,
panic bells it's red alert, there's something here from somewhere else.
The war machine, springs to life,
opens up one eager eye, focusing it on the sky,
99 red balloons go by.

I never thought of something like a dreamgirl or how she might look, but I am really into redheads. God knows why. But that isn´t a criterion for exclusion, I just like it.

My dream guy would probably be a sexually adventurous INFP with a career in a scientific field that ran parallel to mine. Something different enough that it would not be old hat but not so different that we would be unable to talk in mutual geek speak :o.

And as far as looks go... beefy blond guys with hairy chests make me go rawr.

Oh my. Well I'd have to say that I'd go for someone who is very understanding. Preferably an extrovert so he can do all the talking. Humor is definitely an important category, as well as intellect (well, just enough so he can keep up :D).

As far as looks go, someone with poofy hair that's fun to play with :)

my dream girl would be religious, but not christian (i'm thinking muslim, buddhist, or hindu). she'd be a vegetarian. she'd like different kinds of music and movies then me, and would have a different political point of view. she'd be smart, open minded, and love to argue and wouldn't take anything personally. we could play chess and argue about everything all night long.

also, she'd be good at dealing with finances and budgetting.

edit: i'm almost thinking maybe an ENTP.

Hehe true.

We should make a site for INTPs to find mates and possible mothers/fathers for their children.

Purgatory with the cool kids
Evil Scientist/Officer Commanding of covert government intelligence unit, from the anime Higurashi, Takano Miyo.

Incredibly strong willed after having survived hellish experiences as a child, she works as an undercover researcher under the guise of a nurse in a local clinic in order to vindicate the life's work of the only person who ever loved her: her grandfather, a medical researcher known as Takano Hifumi.

Possesses high levels of intelligence, a love of the unknown, masterful psychological warfare tactics and a delicious evil streak. I would not like to say so much as it would spoil the show's wonderful plot, which I spent countless hours analyzing and predicting.

My dream girl would be extroverted, so as to balance my deep introversion. She would drag me out from the confines of my own mind and introduce me to that strange thing people call "the world." She would be as smart as me, but in a completely different field, so that envy and competition would be at a minimum. She would indulge my penchant for argument and debate, although this would be strictly at an intellectual level, so as to avoid emotional outbursts and hurt feelings. She would be quite independent--I'm not much of a people person, and it doesn't take much to make me feel smothered. She would be there to kick me in the ass when I lose sight of my motivation, get discouraged, or just get lazy. She would help me channel my inspiration and energy into something beautiful and thought-provoking.

Perhaps an ENTJ?

As for looks, I don't really have a type--something attractive.

I need an equal that loves learning as much as I do, someone to be my best friend and lover at the same time, can help me navigate around in the "world" and help me enjoy it, is independent, creative, a guy who can help me make sense of myself and my surroundings, and provide intellectual intercouse and conversation all night. Someone to grow old with.

Likewise, the looks don't matter just so long as he's attractive.

Hello I am entp. this is my first post, I couldn't figure out how to introduce myself. I am crushing on an intp so I'm very interested in this thread...;) I am also interested in the intp in general because it should be a similar type, yet I feel pretty different having lurked here a bit...

I think this is a very interesting question, especially when you compare your wishlist with the reality of your loves.

For some reason I like skinny guys. Tall, skinny, preferably with some form of facial hair. I have a thing for hands (strong, with long slim fingers - good for piano, brain surgery and poker). Curly hair would be cool, red preferable though other colours are very acceptable as well.

- This doesn't necessarily fit with the guys I've been interested in. Most seem to be short.
- This list is of hardly any importance.

Insides:
Intelligent - doesn't have to be a genius, what I want more is the willingness to engage intellectually, and true enjoyment in thinking
Kind - to everyone, not just when he wants something
Steady - I am in no fit state to babysit anyone
Reasonable - will not argue emotionally, able to see own flaws
Easygoing - let's not argue over where to go for breakfast!

Interactions:
Respect
Equality
Willingness

I have met people like this (kindness unsure), but nothing yet. I think what I am looking for is a quietness of spirit, and eagerness of mind. True sympathy between souls - when you can look across a room at them anytime and share a private thought together - that would be nice, as would being in complete ease in each other's company.

I have often thought how lovely it would be to marry myself. I love spending time with me. Perfect understanding!

I think that an ENXX would be ideal for you. Perhaps an ENFJ or ENFP.

Enigmatic, Mentally mature, Respects a degree of distance.

My mind is built upon a powerful sense of self identity and objective detachment, if I fall in love I run the risk of being changed by it. Once changed I will have lost my inner mental/emotional self support and I don't know if my sanity can withstand that.

I fear girls with pretty eyes who have the hearts of idealists.
I wonder if this phobia has a name?

Rather depends on how they obtained those hearts, does it not?

Your fear is only warranted if you too are an idealist, and at risk of being their next victim....

You're wise to protect your sanity, but in the end it will fall - life does that when you need to be deconstructed.

This best illustrates my duality between cynicism and idealism

Charity
In its purest idealistic form charity is sacrifice incurred by an instigator(s) for the benefit of the recipient(s) without any benefit returning to the instigator(s). Otherwise what has occurred isn't charity but rather a form of trade, e.g. trade of wealth for self-respect.

The implications of this statement are both idealistic (charity should be selfless) and cynical (true charity is rare/non-existent). Thus it is because I'm such a cynic that I'm also an idealist.

A delusional idealist is a closer description of the typical concept of idealism.

You're wise to protect your sanity, but in the end it will fall - life does that when you need to be deconstructed.
I fail to understand this statement, please explain it.

It is a risk a believe we should all be willing to take. If your self-identity is truly powerful, shouldn't it be able to withstand efforts to change it? Besides, sanity is overrated.

Personally, I am a romantic. Not the "bring you flowers" romantic but a Gatsbian romantic whose illusions become so grand that reality can no longer fulfill them. I've conjured up a cute kleptomaniac who's actually brilliant but just misunderstood and a dissident genius who dropped out of school because she wanted to learn. Or of course, a female INTP. They are so rare (.5% of the total population?) but at least they exist. As for now I'll spend more time lost in reverie than rooted in reality.

We often miss those that that are truly ideal through erroneous insight. Even when we have spotted one which is ideal, will we approach them and be successful. Will they accept us and deem us as ideal.

Yes we miss them. Because we don't know ourselves and we don't know what we need and we have an image of ourselves which is not reality. Those who we think are ideal are really just ideal for our false image and are only ideal in the ways that feed that image. That's been my experience anyway.

I fail to understand this statement, please explain it.

Only that growth requires periodic deconstruction - 'death' - and transformation to overcome stagnation. Love is one of the forms of temporary insanity that will happen just when you are resisting change too greatly... or are too settled... or too comfortable... whatever.

Expect to blindsided when you least expect it. :D

Oh... and study the tale of Hypolytus
