Kind of curious as to what hand you guys use...

I am personally left handed but some things I do better right handed (basketball).

My left had facilitated me cheating on my right hand. o_O ha! Who said the mouse and keyboard couldn't be swapped?

I am left handed when I write, draw, or eat (wait....does not everyone eat with their left hand?), but I do everything else with my right.

I can write slowly and more curvy with my right hand, but I prefer writing with my left hand because it's more precise.

When I played baseball I had an easier time catching with my right hand, but couldn't throw with my left hand, so I learned to catch with my left hand. I wonder how hard it would be to learn to throw with the left hand (would you have to build precise muscles and tendons for that? It didn't even seem worth trying).

When I went through puberty I used to masturbate with my right hand and then I started using my left hand and that became more natural.

I prefer using utensils with my left hand and knives in my right hand so I can be more forceful in cutting and precise in holding the food.

My left arm and hand is more dexterous in general and my right arm and hand is stronger and quicker, I think.

I don't think I have a preference in my legs, although if I go up stairs I think I have an unconscious preference for stepping up using the right leg first.

tl;dr

Just to clarify, ambidexterity is the trait of having no preference between hands of any activity. The "I do some things better with each" trait is cross-dominance. Important distinction.

Almost exclusively left-handed.

I'm definately left-handed. But like (probably) most other people, there are some things I do with my right hand.

Which like "TheHmmmm" Said, doesn't make me ambidextrous.

A thing that amuses me, is to try and do my 'lefty' things with my right hand; Is something like just writing with my right hand. I can't even feel if I'm holding the pen right. It's probably not a special case.

Left-Handed. Do things shown to me buy right handed people with right hand. If skill is learned by myself I do with left hand.

Right-Handed.

I find it impossible to do anything with my left hand without an awful lot of re-training (to the point that it is a waste of time).

I remember my mother telling me of her schooling in the Netherlands and how the teachers used to always tell her off for writing with her left hand. Apparently they gave up trying pretty quickly.

My ex gf's mother on the other hand went through schooling in Australia and she has told me how her teachers used to cane the children who tried to use their left hands for writing. How fucked up were those people to even think such a thing was exceptable?

Is there a link between left/right-handedness and gender? I ask this as the vast majority of lefties I know are women.

I'm always right handed, but I switch dominant feet. This was particularly obvious when I was playing soccer. I'd be put on a wing specifically for my left/right foot, and then find that position very uncomfortable come next week when I've changed my mind.

Lefty but I can also do fine motor stuff with my right hand (writing, gaming, dining etc.). Living in a right handed world has made me semi-ambidextrous.

I am left-handed for most things, unless I was taught to use my right hand. For example, I use a computer mouse with my right hand. I can do almost anything with both hands, from write, to throw a ball, but not equally well. I naturally gravitate to my left hand.

What if you suffer from multiple personality disorder? Or if the connection between your brain halves has been severed?

What if in the future prostitutes could have their wombs genetically modified so as to produce the finest steak tartare instead of offspring?

Right side super dominance. I compensate that by having the left side stronger so when i go to the gym it is a pain in the ass on the bench press, because the weaker right is lagging behind the left but right has more endurance odd hmmm.

I put ambidextrous, but I am cross dominant.

I am right eyed, but naturally hold a gun lefty--so I learned to use my right.
I can throw with both hands, but left hand can't throw as far.
Right footed all the way.
Writing, eating, and ping-pong is lefty.

I use my right for hitting people, so it is my dominating hand, and the left is to help them up, so it is my merciful hand.

I prefer my right hand but I lack so much dexterity that most people can't tell the difference between my writing with the right hand or left hand.:)

I was apparently left handed, but my parents and school wanted to spare me from a disability and scourge that would leaving me wallowing in squalor and despondency for a life time, and so I was behaviorally modified through a rigorous battery of ongoing exercises (namely, moving everything over and over from my left hand to right, when I tried to write or do anything) to favor the culturally beloved stereotype.

After all, right makes might.

... My handwriting still isn't very good, but I do play the piano decently, which takes some left-hand strength and dexterity.

Cross dominant. Highly dependent on activity. Left typically is better at precision while right seems more power orientated.

For a moment I thought this was referring to a switch in the preferred hand for masturbation. Has been known to happen.

Leftie in everything but batting. If I had to live my life over I'd try batting leftie cuz I'm poor at it.

Thinking: I'm so ambidextrous I can't tell my left from my right. It's almost impossible for me to ever tell without stopping and figuring it out by some sensual memory. Anyone else have this problem? My leftie female cousin had this too. One could call this "left-right blindness."

Mainly, I use right hand for eating, writing, using the mouse/touchpad, but If I want I can use the left hand too and with almost no problems.
For some precise actions, right is better, but If I need more strength and precise for some different actions, then left is the winner.

I'm not exactly sure but I think I'm ambidextrous.
Maybe I'm wrong? What do you think?

I was ambidextrous until kindergarten and school gradually made me into a right-hander.

I was ambidextrous in pre-K, my teacher asked me what hand I felt most comfortable with and I said my left hand, she said that was unnatural and a horrible thing and that I had to learn to write with my right hand.

Today I have some scary handwriting (my left handed handwriting looks ok but is only legible if held in a mirror and who has time for that), everything I do is with my left hand.

This creates issues some times as when we have a party at work, and I'm given the honour of cutting the cake (or what ever desert) and the manager makes sure to buy the serving tools with right handed ergonomic hand grips and I find a way to knock the entire cake on the floor because I am by no means coordinated with my right hand. :/

I hope we're the last generation to be screwed so badly by the school system.
I'm quite clumsy with my dominant hand as well,
except when i am alone and can take my time.
