So I thought we should have a thread to brainstorm about what threads and posts were lost in the crash which took out the last two weeks - so if anyone is so inclined they can regenerate them.
There was a thread on the Dalai Lama emerging that Anthile has already restored.

‘Posting Themes’ started by Zero is gone…

‘Emotional Detachment’ by Toad is gone…

I had a thread on ‘Drama’ which is gone - but I think I’ll be reworking that a whole lot before I put it back up (if I do at all…)
What else disappeared in the last crash?

There was also a Social Anxiety thread, How to Handle ISTJ's, Something about decision making, another thread by Coberst, can't think of any more, currently.

I think there was a thread about the problems with the US government, if I'm remembering right?

And there was the code thread, I think that's gone too. =/

EDIT: And Wolfy's < ^ V thread thing

The social anxiety thread was mine. I'll post another thread and hopefully we can get more insight.

I lost about 40 posts :x

Yeah, it was. The thread was mostly-dead, though, and I wasn't about to rekindle it, so I don't know if he wants to re-reply (the beginnings of the apriori thread are still there), or if anyone else wants to use it.

Xel also had another christianity-based thread, with about a page and a half of various peoples' replies. I'm not sure if he ever got around to reading them, but there was no response from him, sadly.

is it even worth taking an assessment, much less 'fixing' the damage, if it might just happen again? i don't think the loss of threads is the worst damage; the loss of faith in the forums reliability is worse.

What's the point of repairing the damage. It will probably just happen again. We need to fix the problem before we can repair any damages. It is like rebuilding a city in the middle of a hurricane.

Honestly, I concur - there isn't much point in doing a whole lot on the forum right now. It is likely to crash again, I think. Who knows, though.

It seems better to talk through it now, though, while the memories are still fresh. I'll keep snapshots of this thread so we can rely on that until we're sure the forum's stable again.

There are ways to deal with this.

I think I read most of the responses and I had intended to replie when I got home from New York. Alas...
If I recall your replie was interesting even though you were using the word "being" completely differently from me.

ah'k, cool. As long as you got the chance to read them. I wasn't sure which one you meant, but I guess I guessed wrong. Thanks, by the way.

Another thread that comes to mind is the Theme Songs thread. There was also a really insightful post by Waterstiller in the ISTJ thread I happened to catch before the crash. There are a few posts I made that I wish I could read again just to figure out what thought process I was getting at when I wrote them. Sometimes you feel like you're this close to figuring something out but your thoughts are still incomplete and disorganized.

Oh wellz.
