Hi and welcome to the forum, Cinna. MAy you find interesting and enlightening discussions. ;)

Be aware of the madness that rules this place, you will get to see it soon enough ;) (Btw, i'm one of the sane guys, so in question or need of help, ask me rather than one of the insane ones) :D:D:D

My Picture is of Thomas Paine, author of 'Common Sense' a pamphlet written prior to American Indpendence that gave a reasoned argument for rights of man and for rights to revolution, ultimatly causing the American Revolution.

The signature is an excerpt from my favorite Shakespeare play, Julius Caesar. The "citizens" are unnamed (in the play) citizens of Rome who have just been enraged by Mark Anthony over Caesar's death, and are out to kill any conspirators (those Senators who had been involved in the killing of Caesar, whom they thought was to become a dictator).

Cinna is the name of one of the Conspirators, however, the angry mob finds a man named Cinna (who is a poet, not a conspirator) and decide to kill him even though he is not the right Cinna. This illustrates the extremitiy of their emotional reaction incited by Mark Anthony's speech (which was designed specifically to that effect).

And thank you for the welcome.

Oh. I forgot the introduction part. Thank you for reminding me!

General Bio:

16, real name is Jamison (Nobody call me that), come from Kentucky/Virginia area, but live elsewhere now, go to highschool (I love/hate highschool...it is a paradox). I love learning, but hate many people at my school and the way some teachers are. I like books.

Interests:

Philosophy, Science (biophysics, chemistry, physics, biology, genetics, botany...), Math, Studying forms of government (especially the US Constitution), art (Drawing, painting). Visiting sites of natural and historical importance, taking pictures, reading, going outside, my cat, tea (earl grey), and I like music. I have composed some things for the piano and adapted it for an orchestra. It is very short, however, and needs to be elaborated on.

Goals:

I wish to find a career in which I can still explore as many of my intellectual interests as possible, all at the same time. So far, I have decided to become a scientist, preferably in the area of biophysics.

I want my house to be a library.

I have the goal of knowing as much as I can about the truth, either that or find that their is no truth, which is a viable option.

I can't help but note that in most places in the world such a list would raise eyebrows,
but in this forum it elicits a "Ahh! One of Us" response...:)

Good for you ! Don't late your hatred of high school get you off track. Doesn't look like it will...

I hated my high school so much I dropped out. But since then I've moved on to much better things (getting an education in a different country, learning languages, etc). Still, I got a late start.

You're a very intellegent, mature teenager who has an intense fascination with literature.

Well, you're definitely in the right place.

That is a good webcomic. It has used at least an hour and a half of my time.

It no longer says 'new' next to my name!

yay. maybe. It pretty much translates to: I'm done with 0% of my work.

meh.

Cinna bar... Cinna mon... Cinna... Cinna..

Cincinnati...

Welcome.

As far as I'm concerned we still live in the Rome. Half the world is Rome. Rome has eaten us in our sleep and dreams our dreams for us.

But a poor slave like me has not the strength to pursue the fact.

We still live in the idea of Rome. The Village, the Republic, the Empire, the Fallen.

Maybe Rome just lived the idea of the world. That is probably why its history still resonates with us. It became an example of every human trait, good and bad, and was chronicled by historians for us to see.

Hello loveofreason. I am a rationalist also (loving reason).

That should be, "there" instead of, "their". It wouldn't let me edit it with the edit button, I do not know why.
