My main gripe is that women are portrayed as mere playthings to be fucked with, raped and then made to cry. They lack any serious kind of introspecting personalities, frequently get fucked over and over by unsuspecting men and are always portrayed as victims in the film. There is no rhyme or reason to why a Korean woman is so fucked up apart from the shock factor that her ugly makeup makes her look like a sex android to be used throughout the film (I have ranted on botox and why it SUCKS) She is always stuck in a domestic situation or if not is shown to be pondering over excessively on her social life and emotional life - some kind of fucked up victim-mentality mindfulness which evokes nothing but paranoia in the viewer about the tense situation of the women. Imagining a female antagonist is short of a joke in Kdramas because the antagonist's evil is caused by society's fuck-ups. Korean female protagonists do not have any sense of agency, any guiding philosophy, nada nothing. No 'social commentary' from the subject of the social commentary at all. All the commentary is carried out by fuckboi-looking ladyboys with botox and white wall paint plastered on their skin with eyes that look like almond-shaped holes on a white balaclava. Any then the korean industry keeps talking about being heavy in its social commentary.
