An intense teamfight, where 10 players, each with different objectives, which change every second.
Mind blowing speed and efficiency.
To me this looks beautiful, and i personally would like to consider it as art;
5 controlled characters going at each other's throats for blood and glory, bringing out the best in them.
As such any individual cannot produce this type of art alone; they will have to be at top form, be of equal skill and complete focus.
People having to mechanically outplay, adjust and re-evaluate every second in a graphic presentation

It may not be understandable to people other than those who are its connaiseurs, but isnt that similar for many other forms of art?

Can a bunch of teenagers jacked up on energy drinks, intensely clicking their computer mouse, be art? Dunno about that.

Objects in the mirror might look closer than they
hey man i think everything can be label as art, i don't want to sound offensive but sometimes i look 9/11 terrorism and eventho it was an horrible thing to do there's a mystical shadow hovering over it, the darkest side of the human nature, the structured plan, the strong beliefs behind it, the overwhelming fact of seeing comercial planes striking down imense buildings, the war, the ritual, it was pure insanity in our eyes, open up the barrier to the plain flat world. I understand that this could be considered as bad as it sounds as art. I'm going for the extremest example i can find to make u understand my point. I'm not in favour of these actions i even find stupid to have this need to clarify.

I don't think something is art unless that is the intention of it.

Yes

Haha that's brilliant. Completely incorrect, but brilliant nonetheless.

Edit:
@op: not art - interesting, perhaps - but art generally holds some meaning within a larger context, and a recorded match within a video game is basically meaningless. One day something like this may hold value as a historical record, but not as art.

Low level art, the expressiveness of it is low, there is little unique output from the players.

Intention?that can be made after the act.

I think bold bags of peanuts will sprinkle down upon the lemons of humanity, until you transgress your present view otherwise.

It's more like sport than art.

If it has a feminist message, anything can be art as long as it contains a dick or something related to genitalia

Can sport be art

art is a crappy word anyway because anything can be art

we should just use the word 'special' because that's what most people mean. one movie is just a movie, but another movie is a 'work of art' if it's really good (special)

art is just the term we use for 'some people find this especially good'

so yes, some people may find sport especially good and consider it art

but the problem is that the way the word 'art' is utilized in common language makes the word a useless piece of shit

Here's an 1828 dictionary entry regarding the notably polysemic word, 'art':

Art

'ART, The second person, indicative mode, present tense, of the substantive veb am.

'ART, noun [Latin ars, artis.]

1. The disposition or modification of things by human skill, to answer the purpose intended. In this sense art stands opposed to nature.

2. A system of rules, serving to facilitate the performance of certain actions; opposed to science, or to speculative principles; as the art of building or engraving. Arts are divided into useful or mechanic, and liberal or polite. The mechanic arts are those in which the hands and body are more concerned than the mind; as in making clothes, and utensils. These art are called trades. The liberal or polite arts are those in which the mind or imagination is chiefly concerned; as poetry, music and painting.

In America, literature and the elegant arts must grow up side by side with the coarser plants of daily necessity.

3. Skill, dexterity, or the power of performing certain actions, acquired by experience, study or observation; as, a man has the art of managing his business to advantage.

-Yup, pretty much anything, even back then (Latin ars says it all)

hey guys i was wondering, do you think it is pretentious to explain art?
i've been thinking for a while to create a blog or something similar just to share my artsy stuff and give explanations about each piece
but i'm not sure about it, it's funny cuz the other day i watched this movie called begin again and the producer said: "it's so awful that a band talks about their own music" and also there's this trend, in which artists like david lynch or serj tankian despise the idea of sharing their own meanings, they say their work would lose the surprise factor and it is part of the art itself that the audience interprets things as they like
i should do whatever i want, and that's what i will do at the end. but i'm wondering what do you think about it given you are not pretentious IxFPs

I think everyone uses the method they feel most comfortable with when facing a certain task. The rule for me is not to become those people who complain to the teacher about how unfair it is that some people that didn't study for the exam, who only did tricks to pass it, got such a nice grades and them didn't pass after 2 weeks of study.
U know. Art is the same. Virtuosism at 2017 is bullshit. Anyone can do great art.
