Why do I have the feeling that this forum is too -waaaay too- decadent and moralist. Everybody seems terrible depressed -but that´s not the bad thing- AND terrible worried about not fiting into their enviroments -that´s the bad thing-... If not in their own world, their own soliloquy, they´re underrating others thoughts.

Maybe is just me, I´m not having fun here.

Anyway, I´m moving to INTJ or ESFJ forums

haha :p

I´ll let you know if they´re fun or not.

It's an acquired taste. Besides, maybe only 50% of people here are depressed.

I understand that. I spent a long time not having fun here and I've only really recently found myself enjoying the forum.

Good luck, emmabobary. I hope you find what you're looking for. :)

I've learned to extract what is helpful and positive and ignore the rest.

For the intpforum I'd agree with the statement that there is a lot of depression, angst, misanthropy, ego-defense, etc going on. Perhaps a slight majority of the posts I read are so ridiculously negative I hit the ignore button and move on.

To expect anything different would be naive

There is also an endless war between feminazis and incels.

The ultra cool post modern XXXX types also have a clique.
Who has the most posts here of anyone? Snafupants/THD?

People get that many in a year on that other forum.

crap.
That's so unfair, my PPD is only 3.14!

Yes but on this forum it is "cool" to have low ppd.
Most other forums, cool people have highest post count.

Plus you are a bad example because you are on every forum.

Oh JW has the most posts I've seen here.

I thought 5k was the highest but obviously wrong. Is there a way to look this up?

Down the bottom of the home page with the Top 5 Stats. Select one of the subcategories, select 'Top Posters'. You can also View More to see up to top200 for any of the categories. Cognisant is #1 since he's also Artifice Orisit. So top posters are:

AO + Cog: 10,809
BAP: 8,988
JW: 8,014
ESC: 6,976
Architect: 6,098

Also depends what you count as a "post" I have 17058 messages in total. (not including pm's and vm's)

Well, I just quit one. I'm pretty much down to this one and admin'ing PersCafe now (where my post rate is practically nil outside admin stuff). So you can see about how much I post nowadays on a forum.

Maybe I should just burn out instead of fading away.
Something... SPECTACULAR.

I'm relieved -- Cog has a solid lead, and i still haven't crossed the BAP Horizon and passed the point of no return. There is still hope for me

Hmmm... Blob didn't quite graze 6000. It felt like more.

My PPD is steadily rising! It's up to 0.7

By the way, what does "Referals: 0" mean? I just noticed it in my statistics.

The INTJ forum is not very fun for me.

How long did it take you to get banned on INTJf?

Yes but on this forum it is "cool" to have low ppd.
Most other forums, cool people have highest post count.

The people here lurk more than they post, because they're afraid of being judged for saying something stupid.

Your persona would fit in the old INTPc very well.

And, lol@ the BAP horizon.

Hey! I´m back

Actually I´m from Cochabamba :v

hahahahahahhaha

I´m curious too :p

Aside of that, most people are relaxed. Is true you often find yourself afraid to say something wrong here, there they´re able to say most of thing without thinking too much.
Anyway, I found myself there ,as always and everywhere, isolated in the end.

I feel like I've contributed to this atmosphere from day one. It's true, I've lost some of my ability to socialize after leaving college. As to the underrating of others' thoughts, snobbery doesn't bother me unless I'm being made a direct victim of it. Having such an attitude usually engenders missing out on much in life, so I feel more pity than anything...

But...I don't understand. People here feel completely normal to me.
Or...not normal as in run-of-the-mill, but normal for their level of awareness and propensity to think deeply.

Alas, the rabbit hole is not taken in jest, or at least not for long. If you're not willing to become a martyr to some degree, you should bail early, or never go down it at all. Sometimes I still wish I hadn't...

Well I'll go with Jennywocky when she says the the decadent part is the good one, I have no problem when it comes to snobbery either.
I just couldn't stop noticing the stress people talk about in the forum, i.e. the psychology & neuroscience sub forum is full of threads of people being diagnosed with anxiety disorders and so on. There's this recent Tannhauser's thread about INTPs hypocrisy and if there's a cure for it. XD
What I'm trying to say is that people in this forum seem pretty concerned about fitting in their jobs, relationships, society, whatever it is. I find it curious.
What do you mean by becoming a martyr?
I'm going to go with: "pain is inevitable, suffering is optional"
For what I know one can't call himself a martyr, the others give that status.
What you say sounds pretty romantic, in the artistic-philosophical way.

Oh, you can include me in that demographic as well. I was diagnosed with Social Anxiety Disorder and Generalized Anxiety Disorder by two separate mental health professionals.

Yes, I feel a great deal of pressure to fit in, which I feel guilty about succumbing to because it compromises my principles. My temporary solution is to hide out in my home and avoid coming face-to-face with the outside world as much as possible, but this lifestyle is already taking its toll on me in such a brief span of time.

Curses! I have unwittingly reduced myself to an online cliché! I have become a shadow of a shadow of a shadow... :storks:

Well, yes, I am an aspiring author, so I can tend to melodramatic outbursts and flowery speech, unfortunately...I doubt there is any hope for me at this point, but thank you for trying.

Are you overcome with anxiety on a daily basis? Do you feel a pervasive lack of hope in your life? Do you find yourself consistently zoning out from the responsibilities of your quotidian routine to contemplate the least painful and perhaps most dramatic method of offing yourself?

About feeling pervasive lack of hope, I gave it up years ago. Try to live a life without hope, that's fun! ;)
I think everything turned around for me when guilt flew out of the window. Moral is a terrible handicap for knowledge, and for me especially, it prevents you from progress.
An aspiring author! Is there any material to enjoy? :)

Oh, did you feel offended in the other topic, my dear, and feel a need to challenge me at a less challenging section? I'll be sincere: You should have been banished, reinforcing a necessary anxiety to compel reflection of the cause, and not have enjoyed the luxury of deciding to leave. Maybe that is an inevitability to your insecure mind and you have opted to leave prior to this explicit rejection?

It is not a complaint, it is a repulsion. As I type these exact words, with thoughts formulating to be transmitted into THIS sentence, I feel an overwhelming disgust, nausea permeating my mind to override much logic, at the people who seek solace on a forum as their life - comprising of various clear defects to deduction - is either very dissatisfying, vulgar to imagine how the escapism became a solution, or they're sedentary in behaviour for a lazy existence.

Yeah, yeah whatever... I didn't think you were complaining actually and I didn't ask for your opinion either.
Good luck with your nausea and your tones of posts about posting being vulgar and shameful. :smoker:

If that's a genuine emotional response you need to seek psychiatric help.
How condescending of you. Escapism is a thing, if you don't like it you know where the door is.

I'm experiencing a decadent, moralist laugh at the very point of me reading 'if you don't like it'. Why should disapproval be aversion?!?
