Is anyone out there a terrible housekeeper. I can't ever seem to get the house completely cleaned. I always have dishes or laundry piled up. Why am I such a freak about order, and planning, and being prepared but I can't keep my darn house clean? How clean is your living space?

Alternate between both ....

Sometimes, I have systems that require keeping a clean and tidy exterior, other times I literally paste sheets of paper to the walls and litter the floor with books and notes, drawings and other stuff.

I mean; why be consistent when you can.....something else.

I recently moved out from my parents' home into my own house. The interesting thing is that I've never been one to be well organized or tidy, but at my new place you'd swear someone with OCD lives there if you opened the cupboards and such. Maybe it'll wear off, but when I've got my own space and there's enough of it to actually fit my stuff, unlike before, I like to have it organized. It's nice when your screwdriver is always in the same place, for example.

^ Definitely not alone. The house looks good right now, but it won't last. I actually bought a book on the subject to see if I could improve (so far not too bad).

I go to clean...and then I don't.

The apartment I share with some people (some neat, some like myself) looks bipolar between stark cleanliness, and different forms of messiness.

My section is messy in the stacks of cds, books and papers, few piles of clothes, and "storage" consisting of a broken-out dresser drawer sitting on some milk crates. It's been this way since I've last seen it, but it works.

No, I am not. I wish I could figure it out, but alas, it is not something that can be learned. You either see shit piling up in time to want to do something about it or you don't. By the time I see it, the mess is screaming at me and I don't want to deal with it. Oh, and my husband is a slob. Sigh ...

My home is usuall very clean but also very unorganized. I generally keep on top of the dishes, dirty laundry, and the wc/washroom/bathroom. Yet, there is stuff strewn all over the place.

Clean? Yes.
Tidy? No.

Everytime I clean up, the stuff I use the most is in big piles of stuff around my room/desk again within a week... It's just not efficient to put everything in cupboards and shit when you can just grab it from some pile that's within reach I guess. :P

I usually get busy and get things mostly organized about once a year. Usually in the late winter when its sub-zero outside. The house would stay fairly clean, but just because I had nothing else to do. I got this darn computer in febuary and I haven't cleaned shit. I can barely keep up with the laundry and dishes( I need to do dishes some of them are a week old).

It got too big. I'm overwhelmed. I don't know where to start. If I don't make a decision soon I'm gonna be growin' some pennicillin. Guess it's a good thing its rainin'. Mabye my husband will drive me nuts and I'll do some dishes to get away from him;)

I don't have a lot of things that can make my space messy. I'd say I'm average. I clean when I feel like it. It's been three weeks since I vacuumed. There's cat hair in every corner. I remove objects which smell, like food.

I think the best way to describe what goes on here, is disorganized organization. As long as I can find it, I'm good; as long as I can find coffee, I'm good and as long as I can find books, I'm good.

Unless my livingspace is so messy that I have difficulty moving around, I have no issues with being in an untidy area.
