Friends, Rationals, Percievers!

I'm an INTJ who just joined an INTP forum! I've gone through my obligatory lurking stage and figured it was about time I joined and started adding my own input. I have some INTP friends, and we get along pretty well, so I figured that I'd do all right here.

I'm a 16 year old female junior high school student exasperated with the world around her. Mostly school. People are stupid, I hate it, I'm not afraid to make my opinions known, and therefore they hate me for making their idiocy known. "They" being the general population.

I'm a devoted non-denominational Christian who may or may not be apart of a Tolkien cult. XP

I'm an avid reader with a preference for fantasy, science fiction, and historical fiction. I'm a history buff in the making with interests ranging from the beginning of time to Napoleon's era. After that it gets boring for me. I enjoy both Eastern and Western philosophy, though at the moment I'm more taken with the Eastern ideals. I enjoy writing both poetry and prose, though scriptwriting is an art I lack a hand for. I'm good at math, but it's not my favorite subject by any stretch of the imagination. I play the euphonium in concert band and march baritone in the Marching Band. I think that public education is worthless and keep my schedule light so that I have time to study subjects of my own choosing, including art, history (the kind that is of interest to me, not the textbook crap), philosophy, psychology, architecture, and martial combat.

I'm pretty sure I've gone on far longer than anyone wants to know about me, so I'll leave it off here.

Welcome. I'd talk about the J/P difference and all that, but some people *glares at some people* here have made it impossible to mention the perceivers traits without making it sound like innuendo.
So, what kind of history interests you?

Welcome. Nice to have some other types here.

By the way, what's with your sig? I don't get what it's trying to say.

Maybe if you write it out? Call it perceivingness or something.

just how long have you been lurking here? There've been so many longer posts that that floating around. :p

anyway, welcome! both to the forum, and to my ever-growing club of non-denominational christians who are sick of the world. Glad to see some type-diversity starting to pop up around here...

Welcome.

So, you are a non-denominational christian. Perhaps this belongs in the religion/philosophy section but I would be interested in your viewpoints on religion. I lurk around some of the Christian forums and occasionally post but I get really frustrated with the stupidity of others. If they can make a complete thought, they still fail (most of the time) to make a point. When they actually do make a point it becomes readily clear that they don't know what they are talking about. I have learned more about God on this forum then any of the Christian forums. Though many of the INTP's here appear to be some flavor of agnostic they will really make you think (and not just about religion). It's brain stimulation. A mental message. An intellectual xanadu! AHHHH.... I digress. Anyway I look forward to your inputs.

No, adding the "ness" suffix twice makes no sense. You have to turn it back into an adjective in between, like "perceptionfulness" for example.

There aren't enough Intj's to take over the world, and once the Intp's are done enslaving the other types, we'll smash you to peices,,

a mouthful of... Pness?

LOL... I have the temptation often to say what seems to be a logical and ironic twist of meaning in other people's words. Most of the time its harmless, but sometimes its pretty crude. I've had big fights with my girlfriend over this unfortunate tendency as its only AFTER I've said it and seen others reactions do I realize whether or not it was actually appropriate. I think that's why I try to stay away from the "line" when I post online.

Brave man. Foolish perhaps, but brave. ;):p

Wow, I blink, a day passes, and I discover I've gotten a very warm welcome.

@kidege - I'd love to talk about J/P differences all day, and since I have not yet been inducted into the local innuendo scene, I can be completely serious about it.

@grey matters - I'd love to talk about religion. Anytime, really. I'm a non-denominational, evangelical, pre-trib Christian who is completely neutral when it comes to the whole Predestination vs. Free Will thing. They both are true, and God will explain when we get to Heaven.

@Melkor - love the name. You're right, however. There are a severe lack of INTJs in the world, not enough to take over, and even fewer of them are female. I guess that makes me even more special. -smacked around- Hey!

@loveofreason - Everything is my fault. XP I'm an INTJ, who else could it be? Only we have the ability to throw the world into orderly chaos. You guys can only throw the world into random chaos.

And to everyone, I can tell that I'm going to fit in just fine here. :D

hm... mind if I ask why you're pre-trib, then? I looked into a couple of the different major interpretations, and thought A-mil had much better biblical backing. I do not know many INTJs who know much theology, so it's an opportunity I can't pass up.

@cryptonia - I'm hardly into theology. I've just adopted the idea that makes the most sense to me based off of my own reading and study. I'm not biblical scholar by any means. Pre-Trib is also just the way that I'm most used to thinking about things. I'm perfectly open to anyone trying to convince me otherwise.

@Jesin - My pardon. Do INTPs throw the world in chaos-y chaos then?

@Melkor - Mad? I take offense to that. *brings out chainsaw* NOW I'm mad!

It means I'm judging!

It means I let horrid personal little opinions interfere with my accurate perception of life the universe and everything!

Meaning I see not what there is, but what I want to see!!!

I think he'd say it isn't about the letters but about the functions.

And I feel Melkor's pain. I flipped when I thought I could be a J. No offense, Kianara. I was only afraid of not being flexible. Which I suppose proves again I'm not a J.

*shrug* No offense taken whatsoever, Kidege. I'm not as J-ish as I could be sometimes. I can be very flexible when there are no plans, but if there are plans and they are... disrupted, then I have a tendency to start twitching and muttering to myself.

hehe my INTJ friend is kinda like that too, actually. He and someone else came up with an idea to go see some movie sometime, and left most of the implementation up to the other kid. He was pretty pissed off when the kid screwed up a few things, and swore never to let that kid plan anything he wanted to get done again.

Heh, sounds like the story of my life. My dad and step-mom are both Ps, and we drive each other insane. We'll be on vacation, and every morning I'll ask what the plan is. Every morning they tell me that there is no plan. I then proceed to double check (unconciously) throuought the day. It just slips out: "So, what's the plan for the day?" and then they'll glare at me and say the whole point of being on vacation is to not be bound by schedules, but how am I supposed to relax when there is no order to our day/week?

Hm, well, uhm, i gotta say i'm more like your parents there :D (obviously, being a perceiver as well ;))

But perhaps you can reach some sort of agreement, consisting of making room for yourself to plan your day...So that they may be planless and you may plan your time?

i can't stand plans on a vacation. i can't really stand keeping to a plan in general. i have to keep my options open all the time. i think that might also be one of the reasons i procrastinate: if i start on something, it pretty much removes a lot of the wiggle room to approach it differently.

Heh, I just started planning out the plan-less time we had. We'd just chill in the hotel for 3 hours, and I'd sort of mini-plan it, like play video games, 1 hr. watch TV, 1 hr. read book, 1 hr. sort of thing. It kept me sane and let them have their peace. Really though, I don't mind having my plans changed too much (by myself or others) as long as there is a plan. It doesn't even have to be followed precisely.

@Agent Intellect - I plan my procrastination time in. I'll have a project due in two weeks, so I'll plan out 12.5 days of doing other stuff when I should be working, and plan in 1.5 days of frantic working. XDDD
