Greetings everyone,

I must admit that I've been a bit of a tourist today, perusing the archives here and weighing whether I wished to enter the fray. What I've found is that the level of conversation and insight here appear to be far above the mean of your typical Internet forum and I'm really quite excited to have found this little pocket of lucidity on the net!

Or, put more plainly, I'm happy to be here and eager to meet you all :-)

We are such a rare type, I'm really not certain that I've ever met another INTP before.

Welcome... I just joined like 5 seconds ago.

You know, chances are you have been around several, or at least taken a class with another INTP. It is terrible hard to find others in the wild because we are not driven to interact, for the most part. I sat next to one for an entire semester in a sociology class, and wouldn't have know he was an INTP because didn't say a single word to him until I ran into him at an art gallery some time later.

Yes, terrible pity about that. I find myself more and more drawn to the social misfits, the badly-dressed, the loners, the eccentric fringe-ers, etc, because of the sort of people I've met here. I feel annoyed that there is this great wealth of beautiful humanity - that I could actually truly relate to - that is passing me by.
Often I feel the urge to simply walk up to one of those misshapen types with shifty eyes and a book in their hands and strike up a conversation, but I haven't quite reached that stage yet.

Welcome mysfitt - your thread title is one of the very few Introit ones that I've actually liked. :)

Welcome to the forum Mysfitt. I hope you enjoy yourself. :)

By the by, if you're into theological warring, you're just in time... It looks like the next conflagration is getting started.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. Intelligent conversation is a rare and precious commodity and I believe I'll find it here in spades. It's likely that I'll pop in and out a good bit since I tend to get distracted when I hyperfocus, as I am wont to do. The last few days I've been riding a wave of motivation to complete a website I've been building for the last month or so. The project has combined a few of my prior interests (photography and web programming) with some new skills to learn (web design), which seems to be one of the magic formulas to keep me interested in something.

weaverl2: Thank you; my avatar is actually a self-portrait, and one of my favorites as well.
snowqueen: I do love to write, and have STARTED many stories. Unfortunately, finishing them is typically a distinction reserved for my poetry. Fun fact: I acted in a play called "The Snow Queen" in college. It was a lovely play, but my director played a role in why I don't do theater anymore.
Sapphire Harp: I typically find religious debate to be tedious and pedantic. However, it might be entertaining in this particular clime. I suspect I might not be the only Atheist here.

Suspicions confirmed! Of course there are theists here as well. So much fun...if you are into the tedious and pendantic :D

Welcome aboard.

Tekton,

First, I must enthuse... I LOVE Dresden Codak!!! <3 <3 !!

*Ahem* also, I've already jumped into the wanton bloodshed on a few of the religious threads. And it's actually strangely satisfying.
