Has anybody here been in a customer service or sales rep position? Being enthusiastic and outgoing seem to be key for these types of jobs, qualities that at times make me cringe. With the job market the way it is beggars can't be choosers so I went to a walk-in interview for a phone sales...
I must be the only INTP who likes country (old stuff like Johnny Cash and Hank Williams). Folk, punk rock, and metal is good too.
This guy is good:
And Maybe some metalheads will dig this:
A person who is "good" at arguing is just someone who is bad at debating.
From my experience with the ESTJ I know, I can't argue (or debate) with that. Having said that I still do enjoy our conversations even when we do debate (or argue). His extroverted confrontation keeps me attentive...
<-- I've had a couple friends say to me "Man, before I knew you I thought you were.... weird. That was back in middle school when I was the new kid. It probably hasn't changed much.
Yes INTPs will typically talk about theories and possibilities, while the Te users base their conversations much more around concrete facts, but I don't see how this wouldn't make a good conversation. Both parties are thinkers and the Te'er will give the INTP a good challenge to articulate...
My step-dad is ISTJ and is very similar to your description. It's very hard to find common ground as we are so different. I also have a good friend who is an ESTJ, we get along great if we're cracking jokes as we have a similar sense of humor, but once it drifts into serious topics we'll...
He shouldn't be released but they should give him a radio show or podcast.
Also, he wasn't a half-bad musician

I think the way they categorize it in MBTI is by the first extroverted function. So for INTP it's Ne, and INTJ is Te. I believe socionics goes by the dominant function, so an MBTI INTP would be a socionics INTJ. So i guess you could say INTPs are more... inwardly 'decisive' while INTJs are...
Yeah it can be frustrating to deal with especially when most people are extroverts (i think). I guess most introverts just don't feel the same need to socialize as extroverts. But it's all good, some people are quiet and some people can't shut the fuck up and it makes life interesting. I got...
Weddings aren't all bad, like Trebuchet said they can represent a lot, I guess I just don't have a whole lot to talk about these days. Not sure if it'll be worth the problem it creates but I'll eventually tell them and they should get over it with time.
Being the slender young man that I am, free food at get-togethers never appealed to me much. I get past the first plate then watch everybody eat for 45 minutes.
Thanks for the advice guys. The present and letter would probably be a good idea if I do decide to not go, just to show I'm not a complete asshole and I don't dig funerals either, I'd much rather have a party or a get-together in remembrance. I wouldn't mind expanding my networks, but I doubt...
Dear Intpf
I have a few wedding invitations for this year. A few of my friends are getting married and i've known them for years. But, I'm thinking of just not attending. I'm not against the idea but I just dont like the scene, I dont want to see see all those people, I dont want to dress up...
I thought it was much more simple than this. Again, is not the only difference the categorization (socionics relying on the dominant function, MBTI relying on the extroverted)?
I think most INTPs, here at least, identify as being an INTP because of the TiNe function descriptions, which...
Is not the only difference between the MBTI's INTP and Socionic's INTJ the categorization? I was led to believe Socionics categorized perceives and judgers based on their dominant function as opposed to the first extroverted function as with MBTI.
If I have Ti-Ne I would be an MBTI INTP and...
Strangely, he didn't receive a confirmation link, his email:

A cohort of mine recently signed up for INTPf. After trying to post a thread he was greeted by the following:

I'd have to agree Salman Khan is an ENTP. He stutters but as Words pointed out articulation is usually expressed through extraverted judgement, which would be his third function. His Fe can't keep up with his Ne.
How about these two guys:
YouTube - Jimi Hendrix - Interview
It's pathetic what gets most people "depressed", which is one reason I closed my Facebook account. I'm not so sure I even know what it is, but I'm sure I've been there. It's not so much of a "I hate my life" sort of feeling as much as a neutral, unmotivated "I don't feel like doing anything"...
Get used to it, most people don't like their opinion down-sized. Unfortunately most people abide by the 'I'm entitled to my opinion' thinking it means something when it doesn't. Good is good and bad is bad, right is right and wrong is wrong.
Louis C.K. - ESTP He hops around a lot, which is pretty Dom-Se-esque. In the Conan interview he looks pretty extraverted, but everything he said was canned so ISTP is possible.
Lebron James - Not sure, but ISTJ sounds about right
Aubrey Plaza - INTJ Had a hard time reading her, but my...
The reason Diet Coke taste so different from Regular is because the diet was released back in the 80s when they introduced the 'New Coke' formula, which was to taste more like Pepsi. After much rioting and nasty phone calls Coke went back to their original 'classic' formula but since diet was...
How about these guys? Trey Parker and Matt Stone, creators of South Park.
EDIT: Trey parker is in yellow, Matt Stone in grey
YouTube- matt and trey in amsterdam!
They say we're born into our type, but I'm not so sure. I had much stronger F characteristics as a child and it wasn't until a series of bad events in my teens that Thinking seemed to become dominant. If I were a feeler I would have most certainly gone mad. There also seems to be some...
Aside from snafupants nobody has mentioned The Godfather, tisk tisk. In no particular order:
The Godfather 1 & 2 (I still cannot decide a preference)
Annie Hall
Taxi Driver
Pulp Fiction
The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly
and for extra credit - #6: Dumb and Dumber
Wear sunglasses, chew gum, drink beer. Practice daily for optimum results.
On a serious note take KC's advice on using Ne. It is our most charming function.
Lenore Thomson claims to have located the functions, but she won't return my calls. These theories are supposedly backed up by PET scans but I haven't seen any evidence. I don't claim to know myself, just pointing out a difference in their findings.
KazeCraven, the Benziger post was an interesting read, but differs somewhat from other findings.
“Jung’s four Functions are rooted in four distinct areas of the cortex. Thinking is housed in the Left Frontal Lobe. Intuition is housed in the Right Frontal Lobe. Sensation is housed in the Left...
Ha, that was great. Yeah he's definitely no feeler. I'm curious how a joke would be cognitively processed in an INTJ. How would his INTJ mind process the absurdity in Howard's statement? All four functions must play a part somehow, but in what order? Does he judge first via Te then feed his...
Oh no doubt he's an introvert. But is his intuition function introverted or extraverted, is he a P or is he a J. Given his precision with words I'd go with INTJ. Maybe INFJ, but probably not.
He's a real funny guy. I wonder what personality type he is. Saoshyant mentioned INTJ and if I had to guess I'd probably say the same. He's definitely intuitive but weather it's introverted or extraverted is the big question. On Howard Stern, when discussing why he thought bombing onstage...
