  • Not many people I talk to about Metallica have actually heard Kill 'em All. :/

Nonetheless, is a great album, almost reminds me of early crossover.
i don't know how to answer that. the only person i talk to outside of here is nil. i think you might be either asking if i'd like to im you or trying to tactfully ask me to go away and the funny thing is i have no idea which. my aim name is laghlaghacacia though.

i made an okcupid profile, isn't that horrifying? i'm going to go buy some cheap liquor now.
thank you. yeah i'm interested in changing habits and finding a little peace. i've gone to a few therapists and never had a good experience so even though people say you just have to find the right one, idk, i guess i'm just not really willing to expend the effort and maybe i'd just be too picky.

i don't really like it here tbh but there are a few people here who make it worth not leaving completely so far.
whats a source to look into this self-hypnosis thing? i'm not sure if i could do it but it might be worth a try.
hahahaha the "hit on the last poster" thread makes me wish there were "like" buttons here.
    lol 'digitally acquire.'

I already have drums and guitar, and if I were to go into production, these would probably be my main "instruments" rather than synthetic/electronic music (though if I could I would get into that too). But still, decent synths and mics tend to be quite expensive, from what I've seen.

And nah, being a career musician isn't for me. I don't think live shows or popularity is something I really want. The most I would do is do whatever in my spare time as a hobby and upload it to some bandcamp page. Which is what I would do if I ever got into it. Eh, we'll see. There's no rush, still plenty of time. I doubt anyone really has to find something they can do well and enjoy doing at the same time before a third of their life is over.

I'd be much more likely to go into graphic design (even though I like music better) because it doesn't seem as difficult and doesn't require any more equipment than what I already have.
Eh, fair enough, I suppose. My reward is knowing certain concepts and having the programs to prove it, but if you have a more preferred method, so be it.

The music thing is up in the air. Mostly because that requires hundreds of dollars worth of equipment and software. Even if I had the money, I'm not sure I'd spend it on something that might prove to be a passing whim. At any rate, I'm not big into marketing. If I did get into any kind of graphic design or music production, I'd prefer to just do things my way and leave my work free. The mere fact that I would be creating works which both myself and the community can appreciate is enough for me.

Still, my major is computer science and my minor physics, so maybe there is a future for me as a research scientist who writes physics simulation programs and such. That sound fun.
    Refer to this post.

As for programming, I suggest you start off with C/C++, for which there is a great tutorial for both basic and moderately advanced concepts here. Last I got at this tut, i got to Arrays before I stopped. The key to programming isn't learning a ton of syntax and commands, (though, indeed, there is a lot one can learn one in those respects), it is about taking what you do know and applying it a vast number of situations and problems.

My "learning" of C++ from this tut went something like this:

    1. Learn concept and make sample program depicting that concept.
    2. Use many of these learned concepts in a program which forces you to use much of your knowledge (for example, I made temperature converters and an arithmetic sum calculator).

Programming is a very stereotypically NT thing.

    You got a Steam?
I am currently in the process of learning how to make images and renders using GIMP. It is pretty cool. :)

    What have you been doing?
I think there is definitely a lot of creative old stuff out there, I wouldn't mind exploring some of it myself.

I'll probably look into the Fritz the cat thing sometime soon, since, like i said, it keeps getting mentioned at random times.
I haven't seen Fritz the Cat but people keep mentioning it so maybe I should investigate it.

When I was a little kid we had a VHS recording of Wizards, but it started a couple of minutes into the movie so I didn't know what it was called. I used to watch it over and over and my nine year old self thought it was the most brilliant and freaky thing ever and I was fascinated by Necron99/Peace. I recently scoured the web trying to find what the movie was with descriptions of the plot, because no one I ever mentioned it to knew what I was talking about. Anyway, yeah figured it out, rented it for my kids, they watched in awe.
cool. i'm signing up for skype right now but i have no idea how this thing works and i probably won't be on at all this weekend.

i saw a movie in a theater tonight! mib3 3d. it was kinda cool but not enough 3d to be worth paying for the glasses.
i'm enjoying the reubarb cake someone brought in today. the weather is so lovely, clear skies and the suns out. oh, and thank goodness, its friday!

    u <3 it
    awww, you remembered (:

i was kind of meh about recycling but i still like it so w/e.
We are indeed in agreement, and something that I find incredibly ironic is that we are exchanging small talk about small talk.
hahaha. nice song. yup it is the kassie. a little bored, a little drunk, idk. we'll see if i'm still around in a week.
Wow, I'm impressed you watched the whole thing though. :P

I want to get a projector, so when I'm reading, or have guests, I could project experimental films onto the wall as an interim/ distraction. It's rare I would watch the whole thing in one go though, I like to have it playing in the background, but I do think it's the kind of film that lends itself to juxtaposition with music, more distractions, meanings, textures, etc.

Are you a fan of Robert Wyatt? I don't know why I associate him with BoC, but I've been listening to a lot of 'Rock Bottom' recently: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a2TUb51oukc
That video was really cool! I was reading evolutionary meaning into it, with each of the monkey's faults being the dying variants, and the kid at the end the human left so far.

But apparantly it was just a bicyle safety video, (ha!)

This is another good one I found if you have the patience:

It's the entirety of the album 'Music has the right to children' dubbed over Stan Brakhage's film 'Dog Starman.' It's a really interesting mix, but the film is quite abstract/ arty so it depends on your tastes. :P
Yeah, I just love the whole evolution of Gastly trio. ^_^ They're much scarier when you actually read up on them. 0-0 (Haunter for example, kills people by entering their dreams and scaring them to death, and Gastly can kill people by passing through their skin.)

Particularly the earlier sprites, Gengar looks so wonderfully creepy.

I can pass through walls fool!

Ah. Then I shall have to invade your mind.

Oh Psh, once you have Melly, you'll never go back.

Back to what you ask? Well, you know... Society...Sanity... a normal life?

(Oh shit, you said the mind reading thing. I should have read it all before typing. But you READ MY MIND.)
I hope it's not like your initials or something.
    Right right.

So I'll have to seduce you to find out?

    (Finally! An excuse!:D)
The tearfulness, burning sensation and mucus buildup sometimes associated with the common cold? :o
Oh! I should mention that I totally figured the acronym , but I can't remember how long ago it was. o-o

I suspect it's only impressive if I did so before the avatar change. -_-
Your details regarding Bird's behavior have been quite informative. Thank you.
Well the most direct answer (but possibly also the least useful to you!) is personal experience. Spending some time in podlair I picked up several people-reading tricks for determining type externally, while fusing that with my understanding of types internally. Having the two double-check each other helps clarify a lot of things.

And so I've come to notice that the rational/irrational dichotomy is very real. But I've also still remain certain that the ordering of functions is as described by modernly understood MBTI. I can see polar function in a person is always the reverse of their dominant, and so on.

Aye, I do have that book here with me at home. Wonderful read. I still haven't gotten through the whole thing though! D:
I think you're right about socionics getting the J/P correctly now. T/F dominants are indeed J typs, and N/S dominants as P types.

However, the bottom two functions of each type are still off-mark...
I wish the sound were more clear. I cant really hear all of the elements of the song.
Thanks very much for finding that - great film, great soundtrack. It's nice to be able to put that one in my playlists now. (:

Hope the holidays/ new year is treating you well!
Yea, DCBA vibrated my brain in such a way as to make me feel " under the influence". Amazing song.
